  1. Would this be acceptable? Or do you want to be able to totally delete the picture so that it doesn't show in the gallery at all? I could live with that. As long as the owner can be the one who decides if it's a spoiler.
  2. This request just became 100 times more important now that cache pictures are immediately displayed on the cache page! Check my "Altoids" cache to see a picture of the container in the most recent log... I'd really like to make that go away ASAP.
  3. Jeez, I feel like I'm being so negative right now... but I totally agree with the above posts! The spoilers are now forced on us!! I really don't want to have to look at spoilers in order to read through the logs on the cache page. Can't we just click (or at least hover) if we want to see the pics? I appreciate the work you guys are doing on the site... but I really hope this feature is rolled back or changed.
  4. Ah-ha! Perfect! Thanks for pointing that out-- I was looking for an option within the whole new "Friends" tab. So, nevermind. I'll be quietly anti-social now.
  5. Okay-- hi. Mr Ant-Social here again... SO... is there away to just block all friend requests? I'd rather have people automatically know that we simply don't accept friends requests than deny/ignore them on an individual basis. Seems kind of rude and uncomfortable to have to deny individual friend requests-- I'd rather cachers just get a message/error that says "we're sorry the user you have selected does not accept friend requests".
  6. I think that's a good idea. Just as long as we can delete the photo without waiting for the finder to do it. could be that it's just not worth jumping on. i wouldn't say it's sticking, exactly. Hmmm... perhaps the smiley isn't showing up on your computer? It was a joke... but I still think my suggestion is valid and I hope TPTB consider it! EDIT: changed the word 'idea' to the word 'suggestion'
  7. Don't get me wrong, I've never really had a bad experience emailing someone about their log. It just seems like an option that should be available since photos can spoil a cache. If we can encrypt a log without emailing and delete a log without emailing, we should be able to remove the photo without emailing, too. 12 minutes and I haven't been jumped all over yet-- sounds like this idea is sticking. What say you PTB?
  8. Cache owners should have the ability to delete photos that finders upload to their cache pages without deleting the log in question. I know you can email the owner-- but it's silly to have to do that and I'm anti-social.
  9. Logs are supposed to be descriptive-- why not use descriptive words? The all caps thing bothers me too... but it's not like I'm gonna be offended by that or by perfectly good words like "sucks" or "poop". Life is just too short to be offended by stuff like this.
  10. Between this update and the last firmware update allowing custom POIs to be displayed at greater distances, I finally feel like I've got the SD card functionality I need. This rocks!
  11. I once hunted a cache in a playground and tried to use my son for cover. I figured if I came with a kid, I wouldn't look suspicious and would be able to get a good search in between the two of us--well, it didn't work out quite the way I wanted.... I'm cool with caches in city parks, though. Just because they are harder doesn't make them bad.
  12. A quick search for "religious" or "religion" will turn up many threads on this subject (of course, a lot of them were locked after they spiraled into chaos ) IMO, the cache you point out is in clear violation of the guidelines. The best way to report it is by logging an SBA ("Needs Archived") log on the cache page and stating that the cache promotes a religious agenda and should be archived. The local reviewer will get your log and act accordingly (at least, they should....)
  13. My new rule is if it's in the city and it smells like pee, it goes on the ignore list. Now, if it's in the woods and it smells like pee.... well, I just convince myself it's from a deer or a bunny rabbit
  14. Well.... you could virtually submit it to a virtual approver and then have virtual geocachers virtually find it. Heck, you could even do some virtual maintenance from time to time to keep it from getting virtually muggled! (of course, like Mopar, I'd rather have 10 million bucks....)
  15. I had a PUR filter, before they were Katadyn, and it was the best one I had ever owned. It got lost a few years ago and I haven't paid for a better one since... but one day I'll save up for another good filter and I'll probably go with Katadyn. Can't remember if I've used any from MSR...
  16. ...you're smart enough to use a GPS but you still voted for Bush? (ibtl)
  17. According to some, we may see them in the U.S. as early as next year of course, who knows.... don't think we'd trade ours in any time soon-- but maybe switch the wife's Scion out for a 2-door JK Diesel and convert it to bio
  18. Nice! I didn't know you guys could do that.... (Guess ya learn something new every day! )
  19. If this is the cache, then the logger in question seems like he did all that was needed to log the cache. There are no requirements at all on the page, other than answering a trivia question. There's no logbook or box to find. Heck, who knows if the hider has even visited the location....? I think the issue isn't the finder or the hider, it's the idea of "virtual" geocaching. IMO, this is just one of the many problems with virts that lead TBTP to decide to stop listing them.
  20. Hey Jeepstr! Yeah, the longer wheelbase definitely makes it a different animal-- but that doesn't mean it can't handle anything that comes it's way. Check out this thread (and make sure to scroll down past the shots of the Rubi and check out the Sahara with open diffs), if you want an idea of what the JK Unlimiteds are capable of... if you know how to wheel and you slap a good lift and a good set of meats on these babies, there will be very few places you won't be able to go For the type of wheeling I do, the JK has been awesome-- and with a few mods it will only get better! Check out the pics from our last run!
  21. Drool away.... BTW, glad you like it. I'm looking forward to watching our JK grow!
  22. Well... someone's gotta represent the new JK Unlimited! She's only a few months old and still bone stock... but the new diff covers are going on this weekend and, hopefully, she'll be seeing some new rock rails and bigger meats within the next couple of months!
