  1. I can see how that is frustrating to you.... but, as I tell people on the board I moderate, you are a visitor to a private site and fairness has no bearing here. You have no rights here-- you are at the whim of TPTB who, in turn, have the right to make the rules, break the rules, change the rules or simply ignore the rules. That's just the way it works on a privately run forum. Now, with the above said, it would certainly be nice if moderators would keep their own personal feelings out of whether or not they close or edit a thread.
  2. Nah... I'm a TNLN kind of guy. In the beginning, I used to carry around a couple items in case I found anything I actually wanted to trade for, but after a while I realized that trading or moving TBs just wasn't my thing. I'm in it for the destination and the logbook.
  3. Wow, I've been using the adblock extension in Firefox for a while now and I never even knew there were Google ads on this site! Good to know the extension is working. I've already found my perfect lover, so it would be uncool for me to "find" her twice. Unless, of course, her coordinates have completely changed.....
  4. I don't see why anyone should be offended by a silly pamphlet. Sure, I think it's a bit rude to fill a cache with propaganda (i.e. - trash)... but it takes a lot more than that to offend me! Like I said before, if ya don't like it-- just trade it out!
  5. Just trade it out as you would with any garbage. It's not hard to trade up when you are removing religious tracts... a rock would probably do.
  6. I'm offended by people who are so easily offended.
  7. We have attended tree-planting events with the Forest Service in our area and have planted hundreds of trees. It is important that the tress are planted correctly (or they'll just die) and that the species is native to the area, so the best idea is to get the Forest Service or local land managers involved to insure that everything is being done properly and in a beneficial way. But if you do it right, it's a great way to help out your community and the environment!
  8. Even neater would be to be the ability to filter out a certain cacher (pretty much the same feature) but, alas, as many times as it has been requested it never seems to happen.... You can go to a user's profile, list their hidden geocaches and check all the ones to download... but you only get a .LOC unless you want to visit each individual cache page. Otherwise, you're only other option is 3rd party software like GSAK.
  9. Same here-- I was going crazy trying to get it right and then I decided to just go ahead and run the PQs and they were fine!
  10. I'm not sure about 2008, but Topo USA does show the USFS campgrounds-- even the obscure backcountry ones. The problem is, you can't search for them. They show up on the map as map points when you scroll around, but there is no actual list to search. It's the same with all the springs, peaks, etc... Was this changed for 2008? If so, that would be a major improvement. EDIT: just to clarify, I can search for keyword "campground" on my CPU and find the USFS campgrounds-- I just can't search for them on the actual unit.
  11. Man, they are out in groves this week! Ummm.... GC.com only controls what gets listed on GC.com.... if ya don't like their rules, list your "geocache" someplace else.
  12. Groundspeak has gotta pay the bills. Their house, their rules to make, their rules to break. I never get why that's so hard for people to understand....
  13. I have a cache that is specifically designed to make the cacher believe they are hunting a micro when in fact, the cache is a regular. It's not hard or tricky, but people enjoy it and are pleasantly surprised-- I'd be bummed if I was forced to list the size.
  14. Yeah, I know about the "cool" flash viewer. It's a nice feature, especially with the "previous" and "next" popup buttons. I'm still trying to train myself to use the "close" button on that page instead of pressing my browser's back button. I'd like to be able to get a thumbnail popup when I hover over the little square picture frame icon. That was a good feature on the old site. It seemed like maybe it was supposed to happen but something was wrong so I was getting HTML garble instead. Guess it's the same for everyone.
  15. Are we still supposed to see a thumbnail popup when we hover over the little square icon next to images on the cache page? Ever since the site upgrade, all I get is a popup with a bunch of html garble. Is that what's supposed to happen?
  16. 2007 Jeep JK Wrangler. Here it is at GC11PMR: Geospyder, you should check out jk-forum.com!
  17. Good point. Our MISSION 3 cache is adopted and the description was not written by us, it was written by hawkmonk.
  18. I'd love to help you guys out with this, but I'm really busy working on a multi-million dollar contract for Jennifer Anniston just in case NBC decides to start making new episodes of Friends again and they want my help.
  19. I think his flavor is Mocha Java (the hut) Oh.. okay then! As long as there's some sort of vague "Star Wars" reference, I'm fine.
  20. Toz's avatar appears to be some sort of berry ice cream... but I like vanilla. Is there any way to change the avatar setting so only vanilla ice cream is allowed?
  21. How 'bout localhikes.com? They offer NG Topo files, which can be converted to .gpx.
  22. Thank you! The spoiler has been removed from my cache page. I feel much better now! EDIT: just a couple bugs I noticed-- ya may already know but: 1) when I hover over the picture box it pops up an html tag 2) when I click the box and the flash style window comes up with the pic, pressing close once brings up a little scroll bar, then I have to press close again to actually close the box. I'm using Firefox. Thanks again for hiding the spoilers!
  23. What happens when you clik this link?http://www.geocaching.com/my/myfriends.aspx
