  1. Hi all...

My mother died June 29 of this year and ever since I started GC'ing, I've wanted to place a cache in a location that will hold a Memorial Geocoin with several different goals. My concern is this...

I've read in A LOT of logs of different caches that Geocoins have come up missing/stolen. I want to do the memorial coin for her, but I'm not sure I want to risk it being stolen. I know I'm new to GC'ing, which is why I'm here to ask what everyone here thinks.

Let me know your opinions, and whether or not you think I should even do this.

    Thanks Everyone.

I would like you to take a look at what I did for My mother in honor of her death. I used one of my own couns as a TB for her. If it wasnt for herk cacher that made it possible and others my mom did see the world and much more. I put the cache in a spot that was not so easy to get to.

  3. Thanks for the quick answer, but I still need to know how they are logged in when they are not actually in another's possession.

Log them as keeping or exactly what you want . I have my own coin it's track able if I put it in a cache w/o instructions it's yours to do what you want with it. Also, if you but one from me it's also yours to do with what ever you want keep it, let it go, or give it away.

    does that help? ;)

  4. if anyone knows where to get the garmin trackable geocoin colorado case please send me an email, Ihave seen them and i know they exist.

    spinal_fusion@comcast.net. i will reward you.

The only ways that I know of to get them is if you get lucky enough to find one in a box of

a Colorado or Oregon that you just purchased by luck or Go to Garmin and write a story in there blogs if they like what you wrote then your blog with be posted and they will send you a t-shirt and coin. Hope this helps.

Never mind I thought you were talking about the coins

  5. I ordered myself a hand full of these beauties today...... Pure luck I was sitting on top of my computer when I got the message. So how long did they take to sellout? How many of each were in the mint run? When do the purple ones come out?????? I have a feeling those will be really hard to get.....

Very nice work! I can't wait to get mine!:P

The red and blue sold out in 20 minutes, the green took 40 minutes. There were 200 available of the red, blue and green. There will also be 200 available of each of the purple and black coins. I don't have any in hand yet so I can't tell you how they look with the velvet pouches.

    Available:

    200 cardinal red AS

    200 royalist blue AS

    200 cavalier green AS

    200 assassin's creed black AS

    200 imperialist purple AS

And a matching Antique Gold AE version limited to 25, the AS coins will not be reminted.

    :)

Do you have anymore sets left to sell or trade? I can't find them and when I tried to order them earlier it wouldn't let me.

Is it too late to get 2 satin silver asnd a satin gold?

  12. :yikes:

I might question your top effect. Most coins, even in relief, are no higher that the outer edge. You could make the center section as a freewheeling spinner with a pointer to the cache type.

I would buy this coin. Please keep me on your list.

Do you mean something like this:

    tolletje2.jpg

I don't know if this is technicaly possible??

In this case the geocoin can also be round, isn't it?

I got my order in for it! I love it!

Could you direct me as to what program you use to design this. I'm ready to design my 2007 coin and can't seem to get the right program to do it right.

    Thank you for your time,

    Eagle618 aka Tami

I used CorelDraw for designing this geocoin and all the other geocoins I designed yet.

If you need any help with your design, let me know :o

Thank you so much for helping me out with a program and if I still have trouble I will definately ask you for help if you don't mind. I have 3 different coins I'm trying to design. If it works out they will be awesome and I will let you know the proofs and when they will be coming out. Thank you very much!

    Tami aka Eagle618 :D

  13. :yikes:

I had the pleasure of playing with a model of a south-pointing chariot at the Science Centre in Toronto a few years ago. The intricate multitude of gears that made it work were fascinating.

The coin art looks good. Might I suggest you invert the compass rose so that south is at the top, or at least place the primary marker on the south point?

 I would love to have a few for my collection too. Let me know if you get it made and or post on here I would love to have it. Good luck in the making of it. Do you mind if I ask what program do you use to design it. I'm having problems in getting my stuff to do what I want and I have Adobe Illistrator.

    Thank you,

    Eagle618 :o tamis@mtaonline.net
