  1. I like variety, sometimes it makes it more interesting if a hint is vague provided the difficulty rating is right. I suppose it depends what mood i'm in, if I'm trying to bag 10 in a day (sorry if thats not up to your standars seasider ) I can get really angry when the hint is useless, but if I'm just doing 1 cache with time to spare the hunt is made a lot more fun if I don't have a clue! Then again, I am the kind of cacher who will search for hours on end and refuse to give up unless there really is no point in continuing, some people only look for short spaces of time before throwing in the gloves. Thats why variety makes things more interesting, also I do enjoy seeing the occasional no find on a cache page as cruel as it sounds I have hidden caches with huge red herrings that people quite obviously not bothering to do the rest of the multi have fallen for and given up In the end of the day if I have been to a new interesting place, i'm happy wether or not i've bagged the lunchbox
  2. The new cache alerts seem to be delayed occasionaly, perhaps that was the case this time? I have recieved them days after finding the cache by checking through Geocaching.com. I suppose its mainy down to luck how fast you spot them when they appear and how willing you and others are to get straight out!
  3. Congratulations, but I think you should see a doctor
  4. Sounds interesting, I take it we would be solving the puzzles in the london area only?
  5. Talk about bigging ones self up but come to bucks, 40 mins on the train from Marylebone to Aylesbury, then a HUGE cluster of caches to choose from with 10 miles
  6. I dont think there is a rule, but if you've found a cache you've found a cache so I don't see a problem with logging it really. I've done a hornet cache before it was ok'd before, as he had sent me and pid a copy of the page over email. Two months does seem a little odd though, I don't know of many people who plant caches, then wait 2 months before putting them in the approval que! Was this other finder Seasider by any chance? he sniffs out cache locations a full year before they are planted and leaves a bit of scrap paper with his log on to be put into the cache on the planters arrival
  7. Well done guys, good luck getting to the double!
  8. Thats amazing, I thought I was doing well bagging 10 this week! I don't know how you keep it up but whatever your taking can you send me some please By the way, got any plans for your 1000th yet, I have a nice 5/5 planned that im gona plant this week with any luck
  9. I just did a cache like this ( I wont reveal which one because It was meant to be a suprise) but it worked really well and the container was dry inside. It was a cylinder type container with a screw top, containing another screw top inside. I think cache with twists like that are great so go for it!
  10. Well done! good luck getting to the double hundred!
  11. hmmmm nice idea but i can guess the results... Hornet, seasider, hornet, seasider blah blah blah
  12. Well done maties, and in super quick time! I'm watching my back now!

  14. Must congratulate my caching partner on completing the big 200 tonight. Took you long enough though mate! good luck catching me up
  15. Tish tosh, all you need is the arrow on your GPS Garmin vista for me but the Yellow etrex was just as good at finding caches whilst I was using it.
  16. Ha cheers for that seasider, I think mike 'i hate caching' smith needs to be informed that he has hidden 3 now, & Anna on 12, she is going to have kittens!
  17. Pid totals 55 hides. Any more for any more??? 1 Dan 63 2 The Wombles 60 3 The Hornet 56 4 Pid 55 5 Walker Dan 44 6 Seasider 39 I THINK!
  18. Well ACTUALLY I have hidden 63 when the ones under pids name are included. Just getting the facts straight you know...
  19. Thanx, I have emailed Garmin, waiting for a response now! cheers.
  20. I've had my vista for about 9 months now and have never been totally happy with it. I'm hoping someone else can point me in the right direction. Firstly, the arrow never seems to make up its mind which way to point. I read the instructions and found out about calibrating it, which fails to help in the slightest. In comparisons with Pids yellow etrex his will lead directly to the prize whilst mine will take me on a scenic tour of the vacinity before finally arriving at the cache site. Secondly, the yellow etrex seems to pick up sattelites a lot better too. Just yesterday it totally gave up on me causing real dificulties! After the amount of money that I paid for it I expected a lot better, it just seems like i have been ripped off and that the yellow does just as good a job if not better for a fraction of the money. (it has been this way since I purchased it so it's not that anything has happened to it to make it go bad) Any help welcomed
  21. Nice one, now perhaps those of us who dont sit infront of their computers and press refresh once every 10 seconds will have a chance to beat you to a cache or two cheers peter!
