  1. Isn't it about time that a GPS with a mobile phone style battery was introduced? Meaning you could simply plug your Unit into a mains socket at the end of a long days caching, go to bed, and wake up with a full set of batteries? or charge it using a portable car charger? For people on a tight budget like myself its hard to afford all these extras every trip. I did invest in a charger but found the rechargable batteries lasted about a quarter of the time of Duracel or similar meaning a lot of my trips ended up being treasure hunts once they had run out . It was also car adaptable but once your out it takes an hour+ to gain any power so that wiped out the option of charging between caches especially since I already use my Garmin car cable for power during the drive. If there is already a GPS model out there that uses this method I would love to be pointed in the right direction!
  2. For anyone currently doing the Interception cache a quick note - 2 of the bugs have become M.I.A this week , a little suspicious me thinks... anyhowz, I will be waiting 1 week from now to see if anything turns up and if not the copys will be released so do not fear if your missing a set of digits!
  3. My dads been doing this for ages and he is on 71! I have passed on the website to him, sure he will be well chuffed! Thanx.
  4. Well done to Happy Hippo who bagged his first hundred caches today at one of mine. It only took him 3 months and thats not bad going atall!
  5. Well done Ian. Many congratulations!
  6. Nice 1! but i'm now wondering how my cache made its way into a white room and posed for a pic on a table top!!!
  7. congratulations guys! half way to the big one!
  8. well done! good luck hitting the double!
  9. Well done mate! keep up the good work, lookin forward to the next quiz where I shall buy you a celebratory pint!
  10. Well done! almost at the 500 mark now, good luck getting there
  11. Thanks very much everyone, I've had a lot of fun in the last few months trying to reach the 300 mark so thanks to anyone who hid caches I visited, even managed to do some day caching too!, cheers, Dan
  12. Found: 300 Hidden: 69 I agree with the opinion that caches should be hidden when a good location comes up, for me its not trying to get numbers up, thats just how many places I felt were interesting in my area and other places I could maintain, that I wanted to share with fellow cachers, I have to admit a couple of them are pretty poor looking back but I was a newbie and the rest have been recieved well - and yes, apologies to Simply Paul who now has to search a lot harder for obscurities
  13. Think Pauls got it about right. Although I wouldn't myslf just because thats how I feel, It seems only fair that if a cache is totally different that it can be relogged (remember there are no rules or competition though, so the only person you can ever cheat is yourself) Some caches like 'Ye Ole Survey Monuments' wander from place to place and never end up in the same spot, so logging twice would not be frowned apon at all. Just go with what you thinks fair I say
  14. GUTTED! once again the D&P camera curse comes back to haunt us and we vanish! ... i'm going to go and cry now...
  15. Well done matey, thats amazing, I feel like I cache a lot, but to get that many I would have had to have worked 6 times as hard... Don't know how you find the time or petrol money! but congratulations and good luck on your next target whatever that may be! Dan.
  16. Yeah they look really good but I will miss having my hidden caches on the main page, so I can see which of my caches got found today at a glance, perhaps i'm just picky On the whole good work Jeremy!
  17. Congratulations John, good luck getting to 600! and stop moaning about my caches...
  18. Congratulations guys, good luck bagging number 400 next!
  19. SOrry Deego, i really dont mean this impatiently, i'm just not sure i'f i'm missing something as I can't see a new list for february yet? Am I being stupid! cheers, Dan.
  20. I'm kind of in agreement with the last 2 posts but remember, there is no official competition so do what ever you thinks right. Imagine going on holiday to somewhere thousands of miles away, spending a whole day checking out an amazing sight, then seeing a virtual for it appear 2 months later that you had spent a couple of hours standing right next too
