Sad that the new app won't work on my hubby's phone. Just got him upgraded from a flip phone to a 3G last summer. The only reason he did that was for geocaching. I'm a premium member but I can't tell if this version reflects that. Yes, to be honest I haven't had much time to play with it yet.

I created a pocket query and using GSAK downloaded from my computer to the GPS. The 1000 caches went to the waypoint icon rather than the geocache icon. How do I get the caches to the right icon? I can't tell anything from the waypoint icon such as where the cache is, name, etc. Any help appreciated.

Thanks so much. Now to just do it!

One more question...The Garmin Oregon 650 is not listed when I go to add GPS device. Do I just choose the Oregon 550 which is the newest model listed?

Thank you. In the back of my mind that was my initial thought but then I saw something about the GSAK. Love the helpful nature of the geocache community.

We've just bought a Garmin Oregon 650 and are ready to do our first pocket query. Do I download GSAK and then set up the PQs on geocaching.com and then upload to my GPS? Sorry but I'm information overload right now. In reading about creating PQs I wasn't aware I needed anything else and then some information popped up about GSAK. Still a bit new at this and any help is appreciated.

Thanks to all of you. That is exactly the information I needed! Now on to stage 2 to find the nano!

In searching for a nano today for a 2 stage find I found a written latitude/longitude about where stage 1 would be. Would that be considered a nano? I'm pretty new but I thought a cache would be in some kind of container.
iPhone App a nightmare

The new app is a huge step back. We are having great difficulty in locating caches that really should be easy to find. There is a huge learning curve with this. It use to be easy to see the notes and now you have to really search. Maybe I just haven't found it but it but is there a map where you can see the bushes, parking lots, etc. That was very helpful in some places. So far I am not impressed at all. It won't work on my husband's 3iphone. I agree with someone who said it is taking the fun out of geocaching.
