  1. I won't name any that are "must do". We have many that are real good and a fair share of crappy ones. There are lots of caches in Sacramento and nearby communities. You can get your fill in the downtown area, Folsom and Roseville. Some of the best caching is along the American River bike trail. Do you know what area of Sacramento? Downtown, north, south area? Will you have access to a bike? I suggest you run your PQ's for the area, read the logs and do a little homework.
  2. I've seen an outlet box once. Attached to a light pole using a stronge magnet, in the middle of a very busy parking lot. Painted the same color as the pole. Great hide.
  3. Yep..it's on. I haven't posted yet, but a few Sharks might be heading down for the event.
  4. S.D.: I see your a volunteer guide at MBA. We have been members for years and enjoy each visit. Do volunteers get to dive in the OB tank with the little GW?
  5. This is a little off topic for geocaching, but it is local and has some gps info. Some of you know that we enjoy diving in Monterey. Love that cold water...brrr... Monterey visitors, boaters and kayakers might also enjoy this information. Chuck Tribolet has included dive site descriptions, coords and a nice map link for each one. Enjoy. GPS For the Monterey Diver
  6. That's interesting, I've never noticed those stats before. Thanks for sharing the information. BTW, I have 50 posts on this thread... wait... now I have 51!
  7. Hey! Your satellite camera is better than mine. No fair. You share? How'd you do that? I use Marky's Terraserver Edit: Ooops...O.H. beat me to it again!
  8. Ok, it's true, you might not find it , but it's not the only cache in town .... You're right, it's not the only cache in town. Looks like there are plenty in the area to keep a cacher busy for a day or two. Alright...I might consider the drive south through the GLB.
  9. But that's past the edge of the Geo-World. I'm afraid because I've heard stories about wondering too far from home. That explains the Lodi Barrier as well. Right Alan?! Good thing I'm no geo-genius. That's right Bill.....Who dares to go beyond the Great Lodi Barrier?????? That looks like a long drive for a possible DNF. I might wait for someone else to log a find before I head that far south.
  10. Sounds like a plan. Z & I are ready for the adventure(Z just wants Pizza!) So far the only other cachers going with us is Alan from Geosharks. Anyone else need a lift? Plenty of room. Lets see, Batteries-check,Camara-check,GPS-check,Flashlight-check, Maps-check,Money-check, Cell-check, Permission from wifey-OOPS!,......... I'm still good to go! I sent an invite to two of my caching comrades. I'll let you know if they will join us.
  11. Still plenty of Room! So can we count you in? This is gonna be Sooo much fun! Anyone Else???? I'm in. Thanks!
  12. Oooh! This looks mighty tempting! Jan. 22, 04 looks like a full Moon too! Might have to mark the Calender for this day. Thanks for the info Bill Let's see how much interest this generates,..... OK, so Geodanimal calls and wants to go on a night hunt, so we head out for Wait Until Dark. Didn't have to dodge too many raindrops. Trail was very slippery in spots (like oops! splat!). I saw many markers that I followed, until they blinked or moved! It was great fun. Recommended! (In fact, if ya'll go, I'd tag along just to do the hike again ) I'm just waiting for JeepySr's reply on January 21st cause we can't make it on the 22nd. Yup! Looks as if Friday the 21st of Jan. is good to go for us. Anyone else care to venture into the darkness? I have room for approx. 5 people. So if anyone is interested & needs a ride in the Stockton area just give us a holler. Looking forward to your visit: CVC Comes to Alamo (GCME3G) This looks like fun. I work in Stockton. Any seats left for a ride?
  13. Snip, Snip.. You become a member by default of either living the area or coming around too often. I hope you'll become a member. Bill, How often is too often??? Do I qualify?? Happy New Year all you CVC'rs!!!
  14. Ah.. I didn't know that... I paid earlier too, but it was $15, not $8. I got a notice after the change that I would not have to register again. I've been getting all the new updates without any problems. You should go direct and email your questions to Clyde.
  15. From the GSAK web site: GSAK is FREE to download and use, but after 21 days of unrestricted use you get a nag screen. You can keep using GSAK after the 21 days, but if you want to remove the nag screen you will need to register the program. Great program. Worth every penny of that $20. Hope this helps... have fun tomorrow.
  16. The new toolbar functions are great. Easy to use. Thank you Clyde.
  17. I'm looking for the perfect GPSr. The Christmas tree is just to mark it's location so I can tell all the family where I found it!
  18. Thanks for sharing that, I enjoyed reading your log. Interesting changes in the water level when you look at your picture of Jr. T. and the earlier shot posted by bdouglas on 10/21/04. 10/21/04 water level 12/12/04 water level I'll have bring my kayaks and try this one next time I go to Monterey to dive.
