The only one I have hesitated posting was the one I was a FTL (First-To-Log). I was only hesitant b/c I there were no other logs for that very plain and easy to see out in the open mark. AW1017 - C 1214

I was shocked to find my link to benchmarking gone.
Quickly located the new location of the link after reading this forum.
I did my part and voted to move the link back, to update the database, and to and benchmarks to the maps.

This gets discussed once in a while, but we have never seen anything from Groundspeak management to suggest it will occur.
Thats a bummer!
Well, I got the log on the Waymarking site!

Forgive me if this has been asked before but I have not seen it.
Is there any current plan to update the database that geocaching.com uses to log benchmarks and if so, when?
I recently found a newer benchmark that is not in the database because it is newer than the database.

I was out collecting NGS Benchmarks today and to my surprise I stumble across another City of Austin Survey Marker like I found before. This one at N 30* 15.851' W 097* 45.422'

Since I don't live anywhere near Texas, I probably won't be searching for it anytime soon, would you mind posting the picture?
Seeing how I don't seem to know or able to find enough information about this mark to post this on the Waymarking site,
Here is the Pic:

The City of Birmingham Engineering Dept. places benchmarks in curbs here, and none are listing in the GC or NGS database. Sounds like a city or county mark.
Here is a City of Birmingham curb mark that I listed as a waymark...

Its definitely a city mark. Trying to get it approved at Waymarking.com it was rejected at first but I resubmitted and still waiting.

I don't know if it is coincidental or related, but I find it curious that right near that location Google Earth showed a business called "The Benchmark Company". I thought at first they might even have placed that out there as a business display or draw, but their website indicates they are a market research firm
Seems pretty coincidental to me! I noticed no such business as I was walking by. But I was busy looking down for marks. The mark profile is barley visible with the Google street-view next door and to the south of that indicated business. I only saw it on street-view b/c I know what and where to look.
I also submitted a page for it on the waymaking site.
I'm still very much a noob to all this. Only had my GPS for a week. Learning the ropes as fast as I can.

Its Definitely NOT a USGS or NGS mark.
Here is the Location:
N 30° 15.277 W 097° 44.863
On the Curb.
Thought I would wait a bit before posting the picture of it and let anyone who wants to seek it out themselves first.
Good Luck!

Well first attempt was a bust yesterday as I posted elsewhere...
I'll hit the trail again Saturday for some larger caches and see If I cant track anything down. I know of a couple benchmarks I think I can log pretty quick as well.

Well this afternoon was my first attempt. Sadly I found nothing. I attempted (GCN6F9) & (GC16ZPQ)
as they were in walking distance from home.
I'm to much of a noob right now to know what to look for. Further investigation afterwards lets me know I was at least really close.
Not giving up yet. It was kinda fun to search.

Greetings from Texas!!!
I'm a total newbie to the world of GPS and Geocaching. I just got a Garmin Nuvi 1450LMT mainly for automobile purposes, but thought it would be fun to try my hand at some geocaching and benchmark hunting as well.
So I thought I would pop in and say Howdy! Maybe Lurk around the forums a bit to soak up some useful knowledge.

I got a couple emails today.
the relocation of the link under review.
