  1. Take a look at GPSFileDepot. There you will find all sorts of free maps. Just use Garmin's BaseCamp to install the maps and your good to go.
  2. I'm sure you've seen the i can haz cheezburger site and spin off pic. http://icanhascheezburger.com/ Most of them are cat related. This google search image result gives a good idea of what is already out there. http://www.google.com/images?hl=en&sugexp=ldymls&xhr=t&q=i+can+haz+cheezburger&cp=9&qe=aSBjYW4gaGF6&qesig=xZEtWubIGn2roaXUTyxkzQ&pkc=AFgZ2tm32nhgJYfgh0ZDe_cKrcEBr7vW5A6hgfG4-EIoh1JmN2ggc60-kwZjOFbaj5oYY7o1AolSW7snDLF1YvnVEJYMg5ZxxA&client=firefox-a&hs=TnW&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&um=1&ie=UTF-8&source=univ&ei=rUM_TeTNCsOC8galpezPCg&sa=X&oi=image_result_group&ct=title&resnum=5&sqi=2&ved=0CFQQsAQwBA&biw=1122&bih=843
  3. I'm sure someone will come along and post the Keyboard Cat video. Or maybe not since i'm mentioning it. But i'm sure your looking for us to create something new not repost an old video or cat story made by someone else. Too bad i don't own a cat. My wife would love one but my Dad is allergic so we are not getting one any time soon.
  4. Have you tried the other side of the equation? Try performing a hard reset on the GPSr.
  5. For a short time i used a Nuvi 1300. Great for car navigation, good price but ultimately sucked for caching. But it was doable. Ultimatly going multi device is the way to go. I went out and got a decent eTrex Legend H for about $110 and thats been perfect. I use my iPod Touch for paperless. So now i'm becoming quite the juggler.
  6. Forgive me but i'm a bit confused. I think i need a bit more clarification of what the problem is. What coin was put in the cache and what coin is being moved along that wasn't put in the cache.
  7. The maps will only work if you have an internet connection. All the data for the cache will be there, ie. description, latest logs and hint but no maps. The premium membership will allow you to have access to the premium only caches and gives you the ability to upload PQs to get a batch of up to 1000 caches uploaded to your iTouch. Any maps you looked at on the saved side before leaving the Wi-Fi area will be there but if you have to zoom in, the zoomed portion of the map may not be available. Pretty much whatever the last map view you had is all you will have available. The iTouch has to pull data from the internet to update the map.
  8. When did GS and/or Geocaching have anything to do with a flashmob.
  9. You use a hand held GPSr in conjunction with the iTouch. I use my eTrex Legend H and my iTouch when caching.
  10. Email sent: 29 December 2010 Name received:16 January 2011 Mission sent: 24 January 2011 Mission received:(date)
  11. You can pay for maps if you like but i would check out GPSFileDepot first and check out the free maps there.
  12. As much as you have free memory in the unit for. You just have to go to each cache one by one to add them to the favorites in the app. Once you have them stored to favorites you can pull them up on the go outside of Wi-Fi range. You will have all the information available. Its well worth the $10. I go the app well before i started my premium membership.
  13. I've looked all over and kind find a vendor that sells just the screens. If you have the skills to replace the screen yourself you'll have to spend the money on some one else's broken unit to use for parts. In the end i think your better off buying a new GPSr. I Assume you've been through the proses of trying to get warranty service for the unit. http://www8.garmin.com/support/warranty.html
  14. Check the pinned threads at the top of this section.
  15. That's correct. The orange lettered circle and arrow is the nearest street address to the cords. While the green arrow is the actual cords.
  16. What trackables and in which cache did you drop them? Give us the TB number, page number not the tracking number from the TB, and the cache GC#.
  17. Does the coin say "trackable at geocaching.com" anywhere on the coin? Does the coin have a tracking number on it? If the answer is no to either or both questions then the coin isn't trackable. BTW just because its a 2009 edition coin doesn't automatically mean its been activated. Even if it was activated and given as a prize you would have to fill out an adoption form to take full ownership of the coin.
  18. If the TB and Geocoin are still in it i'm sure the owners would love to hear about it. At the very least have them moved to an active cache.
  19. Even if Garmin where to create a Basecamp or Mapsource iPhone/iPad app it wouldn't do you much good since you wouldn't be able to connect your GPSr to the iPhone/iPad. Well maybe it could be useful on the iPhone with the iPhone's GPSr.
  20. As i understand it the activation code should be on the packaging each TB came in. If you lost the packaging... here is a quote from another thread.
  21. There are all sorts of little groups out there that do crap like that. There are those who go out of there way to steal Geacoins and other TBs from caches. I think you where lucky to even have a card left behind.
  22. I gave up. I'd put more into it if it was just a little closer to me. lol
  23. In situations like that a company likes to have solid proof of the issue before acknowledging it. They probably wanted to be able to reproduce the problem on there own before they dedicate the time and resources to fixing the issue. But now the problem is being worked on. It will take time for that to happen then it could be another month before Apple approves the updated app. As far as i can see the system works. You may not have the results as fast as you would like but these things take time.
  24. Your right being blunt isn't rude but you are being quite rude. I'm surprised you've gotten any help at all. What browser are you using? Have you tried a different browser? Have you tried clearing your browser history?
