  1. I visited the Enchanted Xtal cache this afternoon and must say it's a very cool cache. I really like these time-limited, no box caches. Seems like a few have gone missing without being logged. Pepper says four were left but on my arrival I only saw two. Now only one remains. Didn't a few of the gnomes go missing also? Mr. Vic, I want to see the picture too. Email it on over.
  2. Alrighty! Looks like I'm the last to sign up to fill the league. I read the Commish's note and would definitely like a LIVE draft. It's much more enjoyable this way but I'm cool with either draft type. OK, I'm off to begin my pre-rankings. Go Sharkies!
  3. Carr looked awesome out there but remember... he's a product of California and will never be a real Texan. Lets see how they do against a real team next week (whoever that may be). GO NINERS!!!
  4. oooo, a TB in Superman? I just might head over there tomorrow to begin the quest. It will take me multiple days though without a gps. Also have to re-hunt that dang Hippo. I hear the first set co-ords were off when I first tried. Yeah, that's the ticket. I hate the Hippo!
  5. Thanks for the kudos all. Funny... It doesn't feel any different to reach 100. But I guess I've seen enough caches now to see how placement should and shouldn't be done. So... be ready. I'll be placing one in the near future. I have five locations in mind and a variety of methods for obtaining them. Think climbing, ropes, pulleys, water crossings and large barn yard animals. Yes, I'd be up for a cache hunt/hike/camp in Immigrant! Lets go! CP: Great logo for SFGC. If you use your imagination you can see a pair of butt cheeks being penetrated. Perfect for SF.

  7. My sig item is the stove pictured to the left. I sit around watching football, baseball, or hockey and get to work making them. I don't think people rush out to grab them but they are often snatched up pretty quickly. Funny thing is that I see people selling these stoves on Ebay from $10-$20 and here I am giving them away.

  9. Hey, I'm here. I just got back from a geocacheingpaloosa trip. Went up to Truckee on Sunday afternoon to hit Chuguy's What Lola Wants... cache for my #100. That was a fun one. Got to the cache site at 7:00pm and still had to hike all the way back out before dark. I spent Monday caching in the Tahoe area. Had an interesting encounter with a bear that night while camping. Tuesday continued in the Tahoe/Reno area. Totally dug Captain Nemo's Lookout cache. Reno caches were problematic for me because of all the new development around the city and outdated topos. Got pretty frustrating so I just came back hitting some along I-80. I haven't tallied my finds yet but I think I nabbed about 20. Not too good considering I bought along 50 topo printouts. Probably had 10 DNF's and the rest I passed on from being cached out. I must of hiked 15 miles/day each day. Not to mention the driving. I'm beat.

Pep, that's too bad you had to go that route. I guess you didn't know but the Morgan Territory's Ranger Residence is only a 5 minute walk from the parking lot. Nice people there. I'm sure they would of helped or at the least let you call somebody.
  11. I hiked the Pacific Crest Trail through the rocks back in 2000. If I remember correctly, it is a county park and open year round but sometimes areas are closed off because of filming. Sorry can't help with co-ords. Nanu-Nanu

  13. Howdy y'all! I'm not much of forum user but I decided to drop in and say "Hola". I haven't been out much cachin' at all lately. My interest in geocaching is currently on the downside but I hope to get out tomorrow and hit Mr. Vics "Balancing Rock" and maybe "Bo's Cache" in Las Trampas. I'm so close to find #100 it hurts. I'm almost afraid to reach my first milestone. Who has a good suggestion my #100. I want a toughie. A real physical toughie, like a high 4 or 5. None of those math related ones though. I'm like Ron in that sense. Oh, and no POISON OAK! That's all. Hope all is swell, Bill - Rockman
  14. Enjoy it while you can. Before you know it you'll be finding caches full of goodies from "The Church of Golden Arches". Yeah, just follow welch's advice.
  15. I carry a fanny pack which includes: 1-liter of water, two quarters, wallet, pen, my signature trade items (stoves), 1-clif bar, one topo map of the cache location, ankle gaiters (depending on season), keys, and a can of copenhagen.
  16. If by some unlucky chance we can't obtain a bbq pit we can cook on my multitude of ultralight backpacking stoves. NOT!

  18. quote:Originally I am swimming there tonight so I'll get better numbers. Does Shadow Cliffs still have those water slides? I haven't been there in 20+ years. Heck, Shadow Cliffs is the place of my first minor in possession of alcohol. Ahhh, I wish I was 13 all over again!

  20. I've yet to attend a geocaching social but my understanding is... whom ever brought up the subject is the caterer and designated driver. Actually, most that I have seen are potluck.

  22. Hey there, I haven't been geocaching in the last few months but I wouldn't mind getting together for a little get together thingy. There will be beer present, RIGHT!!! I'll get in touch with Hiflier, Chuguy, Chugirl, and the rest of the zanies to inform them of this thread. By the way, I voted Berkeley/Pleasonton Saturday. Cheers, Rockman - Bill
