  1. I've just started using the Pocket query feature and was wondering when the lists are generated. I have 2 query set up to run on Saturdays. Do they run during the day, or after the end of the day (11:59 pm). I'm curious becuase I set up the searches on Tues. and have not recieved any results as of 11:45pm Saturday.

Now I feel really stupid, and will probably think twice before helping a new person, wondering if it's another "Mitsuko". I have been trying to be a good sport about the whole thing, and just keep my mouth shut, but I don't think that you can say that everyone was treated well. I, for one, do not feel that great about the whole thing. I like jokes, I like people with a sense of humor: I just don't like being made a fool of. Shannah Why on earth should you feel bad about trying to help others? Does it really matter if there is a fictional character or a real person asking a question? If you think you have information/knowledge that might help someone, then you should offer it. I was trying to explain a similar circumstance to my 5 yr. old the other day, "there will always be people who try to fool you or take advantage of you, the trick is not to let them see you get upset." Laugh about it, get over it, then try to help the next person who asks a question.
  3. Looks like a really cool hike. I enjoy getting out to hikes away from the city. Unfortunately my weekends are filled through August, so I won't be able to consider this one until Sept. Keep in mind that most caches that are placed out in the "boonies" typically don't get a lot of hits. When they are found it could be upto a year or more after the hide date. As an example check out this cache. I made an attempt to find it on its 1 year anniversary, didn't have any luck though. Just be patient, and remember, "If you hide it, they will come", it just might take awhile to get there. __________________________________________________ Lost? I'm not lost. At least I don't think I'm lost, well............OK, maybe just a little.

  5. Lake Kachess is a Nat'l Forest campground, which doesn't fall under the NPS parks pass. Since it is not a trail head it also doesn't fall under the forest pass that that I purchased for hiking. To add aggrivation, Lake Kachess doesn't even accept Thousand Trails memberships for entry. I guess there are just going to be some places that we'll have to pay extra fees, until the bureaucrats figure out a "better" way to foul things up. _________________________________________________ Lost? 8. A local cacher around Seattle has started a set of coins called "seattle seeker's angel coins". They are hand engraved, and seattle seekers is keeping track of them on a personal website. I currently have 2 in my possession. One I plan to deposit into a cache, the other I will be giving to my mom (she collects angels).

  10. I just logged on and found this cache on the most recent list on the opening screen. What surprised me about it was the title. That should have thrown up a red flag to the approvers. Then I read the description, and it suggests using a metal detector and a SHOVEL to find the cache. I thought the consensus was that burial was not an acceptable means of cache placement. Maybe I'm wrong, but it just doesn't seem like the right thing to do.
  11. I'm interested, however I couldn't get the link to the proof to come up. Maybe you could post an image for us to see. _____________________________________________ Lost? I'm not lost. At least I don't think I'm lost, well............OK, maybe just a little.
  12. I just put out Guitars and Cadilacs on 6-30-02. It's based on the song by Dwight Yokum. _______________________________________________ Lost? I'm not lost. At least I don't think I'm lost, well............OK, maybe just a little.
  13. OK, now I know someone has way too much time on their hands. I really got a kick out of that. Well done, fractal. (pun intended)

  18. This is an invitation for any one who is up for a hike, to join travisl and myself on a first find cache hunt. Annette Lake Mountain Cache was hidden on June 23, 2001, and hasn't had a logged find yet. I thought it would be fitting to try and find this cache on its 1 year anniversary. If anyone is interested we will be meeting at Hyak (47 23.574 N, 121 23.761 W) on June 23rd at 8:00 am. Our plan is to leave a car at Hyak, drive to the Annette Lake trailhead and start the days adventures from there. We'll hike to Annette lake, after finding that cache (hopefully), then its down the hill to Mission 9: Tunnel of Light, by Project APE . After that we're going on to What a Wonderful World! by EraSeek From there we will shuttle to the vehicle left at the trailhead, then call it a day. _______________________________________________ Lost? You drop everything and run out to find it only to discover that you are not the first one to find it! It had been found days ago but never logged online. GRRRR! This has happened to me a few times now. I'm planning a trip out to find a cache that was hidden almost a year ago to the day. It hasn't had any logged (online) finds yet but I'm sure someone will have probably beaten me to it by the time I get there. Its no big deal, we're supposed to be doing this for the fun of it,....... right ? _____________________________________ Lost? I'm not lost. 21. Sounds like root rot to me. My father in law has a small tree farm next to a state park near Olympia. When we walk through the park he points out sections of the forest that are plagued by root rot. The only solution to the problem, he says, is to knock the trees over and expose the roots, this helps to keep the disease from spreading. Unfortunately you have to loose a lot of forest area to keep this problem from spreading.
  22. We should have room at our campsite for one extra tent to be set up (as long as you dont mind a 5 year old running around). We are planning on being there Fri. afternoon/evening.
  23. Lookout, we're closing in on the winner's circle. We're closer than you think...... Just checked the progress of ZIP 85390, he is currently outside of St. George, Utah in "Bloomingtton Overlook" cache. That puts him just accross the border from Arizona, and headed south, fast. Lost? I'm not lost. At least I don't think I'm lost, well............OK, maybe just a little.
  24. Give him the find, then make a note in the log about this being a one time only exception and that anybody else who has a fear of heights should not attempt this cache. just my oppinion. Mg1
