Hey, there.... please put out some caches in the Philippines if you move there!!!!! This summer we are probably going again and I want to hunt some! Manila, Bohol, Boracay, Cebu....

Funny you should meantion that EDP, I was just talking to a park maintenance person today about placing a cache and he says he's found old grenades and other ordinance in Fort Desoto park... so he suggested not doing any digging there... LOL

SCREEN NAME IS MORE THAN AN ALIAS

I like the cartoon Fantastic Four, and there's four in our family, but wanted something related to Florida in it, so FloridaFour. Most of the time, there is less than four of us out caching, though. LOL! -
Thanks oldrocknmetal..... I will check into those!

I haven't done it, but going to the Going Coastal event in Savannah in Nov. And hoping they have a night caching activity...

About how many times a week do you go geocaching?
FloridaFour replied to marsik123's topic in General geocaching topics
Usually once...average. -
Do you know of any that are near kayak/canoe rental places? Most of them seem to have private launch areas and I don't have a kayak.... nor do I have a trailer or hitch. I think the only one that might be doable for me is off the Dunedin Causeway?

All signed up for Going Coastal...Arrrgh!!!

Barely finding cache sites in my area.
FloridaFour replied to ConfuzdMuch's topic in South and Southeast
LOL...just happened upon this post... In geocaching topics If you don't have a gps or a friend with a phone that has the app, try Letterboxing to get you started... no gps needed. All you need is a rubber stamp, you can buy for a dollar or make from an eraser... similar interest to geocaching. But I bet you can get a used GPS for under $100. -
Is the swag found in your area not worth finding?
FloridaFour replied to jacksonsfind's topic in How do I...?
McToys and other junk toys and even garbage in most of the caches around here. That combined with the CONSTANT loss of my Travel Bugs due to thieves and/or lazy geocachers has started to get me jaded... But then, the really cool caches keep me going... See that I only have 210 finds???? I stay away from the junk caches... what's the point? I'll put nice stuff in my own 3 caches which are on long walking trails (keeps the muggles away most of the time). I'll put nice stuff in PMO caches and a few new caches that I know will get a lot of visitors at first. The rest just need CITO containers.... -
I do this, I make cute little containers for them for practically nothing. Hard to find film cans now, LOL, but any small container will do. I use paint pens to write CITO on them.
-
I say, if you find one.... take it. Forget the NA. Unfortunately, I've seen this type of thing with some of my local letterboxers.... you log a DNF and they say...oh I guess I won't have a chance to replace/maintain it until I'm down in Florida for that one week next August.... what the heck? So they just leave them to rot with bugs in them all year, gross.
-
NOOOOO......got enough on my plate already. I don't have a problem with helping maintain caches for cachers I know who go out of town for several months...and I do that. But not strangers. ok, I am editting... I'd "adopt" caches of a local military person....
-
Yep the Savannah event's a bit of a hike, but a great vacation opportunity.... and I NEED a vacation.... Weather is fine....time for some caching and kayaking... hey does anyone know when alligator mating season is? I want to go on the Hillsborough river and kayak or canoe, and maybe geocache if there are any over there, but swore never to go during "high season" again.... scaaaarrryyyy.... Well, next week's geocaching goal is kayaking Upper Tampa Bay Park, maintaining my caches there and taking some nature photos (working on another project, that I will keep a secret for now...hehehe), and finally doing a Wherigo... Also got a wild hair to go to Seattle and do Groundspeak Headquarters... hubby wants to have a mini honeymoon and I get to pick????? What??!!?? Better take advantage before he changes his mind...so we will see....

oops double posted, glitch

So as long as the first coords are an exact starting point, that would be allowed is what I am interpreting. Not sure what I have planned yet, but good to know in advance. I did do a multi cache once that started at one point and then you followed clues.... It was fun ,gave it a fave point, by the way.

CITO why don't you do it?
FloridaFour replied to Cool Cow Cachers's topic in General geocaching topics
Went to my first CITO yesterday, at the beach, it was nice. I do try to cito when I cache, but not religiously...already carry a lot of gear.... -
How to find the extraordinary cache listings?
FloridaFour replied to Team Pixos's topic in General geocaching topics
1.Hide and seek a cache 2.pick state/province...or other country, or go by postal code and pick a large area radius 3 hit search 4. Hit the blue ribbon
