  1. Can anyone join this hike? I am coming up to the block party and have been wanting to go after this cache (GCD), but didn't relish doing it alone. I would love to join a group. How long does it typically take?

  2. My regular caching crew for cache machines all flaked out on me... but I still want to do the route. I'll do it by myself if I have to... it is just more fun with others.

Cindy, you can ride with us if you like.

Thanks David, but I already told another cacher that he could ride with me! But thanks for much for the offer! Would have been fun!

  3. I have a 4-wheel drive vehicle and empty seats. Anyone want to run the route with me? Your vehicle or mine. Just let me know.

I love making caching runs with others, but there's a sort of unwritten 'only us' rule between me & my friend Tessa - we do most of the cache machines together. We've been best friends for decades & we don't have to worry too much about offending one another with our back-handed, back seat driver comments :anibad: And she doesn't yell at me too loudly when I go the wrong way down one-way streets, or drive down trails that are NOT roads.

Lizzy - I understand that! My regular caching crew for cache machines all flaked out on me... but I still want to do the route. I'll do it by myself if I have to... it is just more fun with others.

  4. The lunch stop in Ft. Walla Walla Park will be available from 1 pm to 3:30 pm, so stop by while on the route. Look for the picnic shelter in the park and you will find us flipping the burgers!
    With Walla Walla onions?

Well..... it is too early for Walla Walla Sweets. Come back in June!

  5. Just got a few days off, so I am trying to attend.

Anyone know of a good affordable campground nearby? (I could camp in my minivan, so a tent spot works for me.) I've been looking at motels but I'm not thrilled by what I has researched. Heck, I would even consider someone's driveway as long as the neighborhood is good.

Where is the start/meeting spot on the 20th?

(I would assume GCQAANH Whitman Webcam)

As always, I'll looking for a ride as a navigator or ???\

(Need a good spot to park my van for the day)

There is a campground on Hwy 12 before Touchet. I don't know the name of it and can't seem to find it on any search engine. I know nothing about it except I have seen the sign and sometimes see travel trailers parked there. Probably 25 minutes from WW. I don't know of any in Walla Walla anymore. I will try to ask around.

I did another search and came up with this:

Public Campgrounds: There are no public campgrounds within the City of Walla Walla. Some out-dated web information indicates a camping facility within Fort Walla Walla Park, adjacent to the Museum. The City of Walla Walla closed the site in 2003.

Private Campgrounds that include tent camping

  7. Really, it's just all about the numbers. The number of caches you'll find. The number of different places you'll see. The number of unique and clever hides you'll come across. The number of laughs you'll have. The number of people you'll meet. The number of old friends you'll run into. The number of new friends you'll make.

I can see how that wouldn't appeal to some folks....

Well said! Those are all of the things I love about cache machines!

  8.

I'd like to hear from people if there is an interest in other Cache Machines other than the Travis Machines which I can tell are looked forward to with alot of anticipation.

If theres poeple who have ideas as to where they'd like to see a CM let me know.

    Thanks

I'm ALWAYS interested in cache machines. It just always depends on my schedule. I was able to go to one of your CM's last year and loved it.
