  1. It sounds like you scrolled the map. On the map screen, when you press the round rocker button with the arrows on it, it will scroll the map. It will then stay locked where you scrolled to, until you press the QUIT button. Once you press QUIT, it will scroll back to your current location with the arrow cursor centered in the middle, and then track your progress.
  2. Jeff, I joined your Yahoo! group and will post a message later tonight, introducing myself. In nutshell, however. I am on some trail every Saturday morning. Solo, small group, large group. It doesn't matter. It's all about the adventure. We live in a special place. I figure that In a twenty mile radius, I could hike a new trail every Saturday, and be dead from old age before I got to a quarter of them. Don
  3. I want to know what to do reguarding someone giving up a cache,in my area, they themselves cannot maintain it because their moving away......should i adopt the cache or let them disable it and then i take over....if i adopt the cache site will it remain under their name or mine ??? If you adopt the cache, it's your cache. The text on the cache page will not change, but you will have the ability to edit it. Most people just add, Adopted by ... after the original owners name. As it is now your cache, you have the ability to edit it. You can the description, attributes, delete logs, disable/enable, perform maintenance, etc. It's your cache, just as if you had created it from the beginning.
  4. You uploaded a .gpx or a .kml ? Your question prompted me to explore this further. I took my GPX, loaded it into Google Earth and then saved it as a KML. I was then able to successfully upload the KML. It appears that this only effects GPX files. Don
  5. I tried searching for other posts on this, but the search engine keeps timing out. I have used the "Find Caches Along a Route" feature in the past, without problems. For the last two days, nothing but problems. What I'm doing. Click "Upload GPX / KML" Click "Browse" (and browse to the GPX on my hard disk) Click "Upload" New page loads where you "Save" your route. The Route is listed. It shows me the distance and number of points, indicating that it read my GPX and that it is a good file. (I also tried with a known good file that I had uploaded a few months ago). It has a check box next to it and a button to "Save Selected Routes". I check the box and click the button. I get a dialog box that says, "Please Select a Route to Upload". I'm stuck at this point. I cannot save the route and then run a PQ from it. Windows XPSP2 IE 7 Also tried with Firefox 2.0.0.14 Same problem. The GPX is a point to point route made with Mapsource v6. It is about 250 miles and 16 points, well under the 500/500 limit. I have used this method many, many times without problems. I currently have 12 routes saved, so I don't think that it is a limit problem. Thanks for any help that may be offered, Don
  6. Looks like there is still an issue. Indeed it is. I have been trying for nine days to create a new Bookmark list. Reference my post from Nov 8. XPSP2 IE7 Firefox 2.0.0.8 I've tried everything that I can think of on my end. Cleared temp files, cleared the cache, etc. Still get "Server Error in '/' Application". I'm having no other problem with the web site, just cant create a new Bookmark list. I can edit, rename and add/delete items from an existing list. Just can't create a new one. Don
  7. Server Error in '/' Application. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Runtime Error Description: An application error occurred on the server. The current custom error settings for this application prevent the details of the application error from being viewed remotely (for security reasons). It could, however, be viewed by browsers running on the local server machine. Same error message, but I'm getting it when I try to create a new Bookmark List. This has been occuring for over 24 hours. Don

    Wrong Log Dates

I'm not sure if this due to today's code testing. I just logged the eight caches that I found yesterday. In each case, I set the date to Oct 2, 2007. All posted as today's date of Oct 3, 2007. I tried to edit a few, but it won't change. No errors messages. I just can't change them to the proper date. Don
  9. The new layout looks quite messy for those of us that are using a 800 X 600 display resolution. The new box with the coordinates is so wide that it is forced below the Navigation buttons, Attributes and Travel Bug info. This makes for really long pages with large amounts of white space on the left. If the layout in just that box could be rearainged to make the box slimmer, it would fit next to all of the info on the right, instead of below it. Whatever was changed in that box today is what is making it too wide. This morning's version worked fine. Also, the cache size on a bunch of my caches is coming up as "Unknown". I have tried editing and saving the caches to see if it would correct the problem. No luck.
  10. It seems likely that this is a Geocaching.com problem and not related to any of our providers. I'm using Roadrunner in Southern California. I have not received a notification, owner, or watchlist message in over 24 hours. Don
