  1. Hey, I did that Century once! I was living in the Bay Area for a few months while training for a company out there. That is a most excellent biking road. There weren't ANY caches around when I was out there. Now.... -WR
  2. Without thinking about it very much, I can recall a half-dozen times I have searched for caches yet-to-be-placed. I was never angry. It is part of the FTF game. -WR
  3. I for one am willing to subsidize April Fool's Day. Divide the invoice amount by the number of paying GC.com members and send me a bill. Anyone else want to help Jeremy out? -WR
  4. Yeah, for a minute there, I almost thought you were serious. Way to keep the gag going! -WR
  5. I guess it must have a five-star rating, since the approver did not question its WaterWorld location? -WR
  6. The cache name is not enough for me anymore, especially when it is rather generic. What always brings back the details is reading MY log for the cache. -WR
  7. Just checked. I have about eighty no-finds logged. -WR
  8. Yes, it appears that our local math puzzler (Geometry) has not even attempted Vesica Piscis yet. I like seeing tough math puzzles near me. They slow down some of the hard-core FTF'ers. -WR
  9. In our neck of the woods, beavers are reorganizing the landscape at a more rapid rate than the all of the people using the forest for non-motorized recreation. "If the Sierra Club had known Mount St. Helens was going to blow, they would have sued to stop it." -WR
  10. As is well documented in another thread, he ignored an EXPLICIT (separated from other text and bolded in red) request on a new cache of mine. He admitted he read it, knew exactly what it meant, and decided to ignore it. We thought we would try the subtle approach this time. That obviously did not work either. We'll keep trying! -WR
  11. Oops, my bad. In my blind rage, I went for the quickest route. I think I'll just go chill in the hot tub with a beer now. -WR
  12. Wow, I dropped a match and a firestorm flared up while I was away. I would like to thank EVERY OTHER local cacher who might have wanted to hit this before the birthday boy, but understood the point of the cache. That is the way we are used to doing things around here. Thanks for the comments from other regions, where you obviously do things in a different way. My apologies to those sensitive souls that recoil in horror at the thought of someone being called an SOB in a private(?) email. I am sorry you were so rudely exposed to it. Being one of the creators of said cache, my feelings regarding this atrocity are unlikely to waver. I respect the right of others to choose how they play the game. I reserve my right to call them any name I want. -WaldenRun
  13. TH&G has 823, Feathers has 716, Centris has 610... -WR
  14. 'cept when caching with someone who had their's along. -WR
  15. Cracked Tree Treasure Gerry's Low Tide Welcome to Purgatory -WR
  16. The cache approvers can tell that it is in a private lot. If they are letting them go through, I would not worry about it. Hide like that around here would catch a lot of flak. Not from property owners, but from the local caching community. -WR
  17. In our area, the container master is CacheNCarryMA. His hides are generally normal sized containers, and they are pieces of art. They don't generate a lot of frowns, because his reputation precedes him. Fool us twice, shame on us! -WR
  18. OK, there is a new one about 25 miles away that I will have by about 7AM tomorrow morning. That one aside: I have 100% of the nearest 567 caches. That goes out a radius of 35.9 miles. Oh, maybe 10-15 of those are micros. No, "You find my 50, I'll find your 50" micro-spew around here. -WR
  19. Yeah, the game changes when micro-spew gets rampant. Fortunately, we do not have to worry about that here in MA. I can only think of one cacher that has hidden more than one or two micros. -WR
  20. 873 There are 63 of those that I have not found, of which 6 are disabled. -WR
  21. Renegade caching stories? I'll give it some more thought (that's right, I've lost count), but right now I can think of three caches and two benchmarks where I had to explain myself (ourselves) to officers of the law. Oh, one time we hid until they went away. The searchlight panned right by us. Tell 'em? The truth. Cops gets REALLY pissed when lied to. -WR
  22. How about WaldenRun's Birthday Cache? -WR
  23. Well, in the last ten days, there have been about 2000 caches submitted. Most of those were probably approved, so figure a little under 200/day. -WR
  24. The perfect attitude! I like it. I like it too! Hmmm, I may be down in PA this summer. Perhaps I will take him up on the challenge -WR
