You sound like a liberal democrat.
Can you say wide right?
I hate micros in the city and dislike liberal democrats. To call me a liberal democrat is insulting. I am also not a metrosexual. I don't shave my legs. TMI???

You typed:
Quaint resort towns are good.
Large cities are bad.
Bad sadly I read:
My caches are good.
Other people's caches are bad.
Gotcha. Next thread.
I said "The cache you referenced was one of mine that was mujggled the first day it was put out. The cache is in a quaint resort town in northern Michigan. What I really don't like are the ones in large cities, such as this one in downtown Detroit next to Ford Field (where the Detroit Lions lose week after week):" I never said large cities are bad and quaint resort towns are good. You sound like a liberal democrat.

You mean you hate ones like THIS one? 1/1 micros that you must use stealth with? Yeah I feel your pain. Thanks for getting the conversation started though.

Why not ban micros from geocaching.com and start "microcaching.com?" It would fit right along side Waymarking.com. About all micros do is help allow cachers to get astronomical cache find counts......They have no other useful purpose. Kind of like the "only good cat is a dead cat" saying, in my opinion.

As I said, I hate micros in the city. Micros along busy streets make you feel like you are being watched or are doing something illegal. Micros in playgrounds make you feel like some soccer mom is going to accuse you of being a pedophile. I am a traditionalist. Geocaches were meant to be in the woods, ammo can size, and have trinkets to trade. Micros in the city are the equivalent of metro sexuals. There's something about them that is just is not right.....

I hate micros in the city. In particular, micros along a busy street or micros in playgrounds.

Get the message???? Do I need to repeat myself again????
Just wanted to get some discussion started.....

I’ve had quite a few amusing comments from our GCVHFF “Watch out for Ents” cache:
http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...61-6b2a4c1b77e4
“This one peaked my curiousity after reading the logs that I just had to go do it. Needless to say it may take my 4 year old a while to go out caching with me again. She screamed and ran away. I stood there laughing. It took her a while to come back and what she was screaming was even more funny. I love the caches you have done recently. Keep the imagination running wild. I love it.”
“One of the Bluejay boys came screaming back after making a discovery. Then one of the Ents tried to grab Grandma Bluejay and pull her into the black muck. We all wanted to fly out of there, but curiosity won out and the cache was found. Took some chalk and left a car for a quick get-a-way for the next victims. Thanks for an exciting cache.”
All I can say is WOW! My dad made the discovery. Said it startled him.....................until he got closer that is. What a great, original container! While me and the kids escaped untouched, the cache startled my dad and the ents sucked my mom into the muckiness of their home. Guess the Northern-Mitten team got the worst of it! It wasn't until we got almost back to the car that it dawned on us...........when we came across the container, we had 3 cameras and a camera phone and NONE of us thought to take a picture“
"Holy crap, I just came from a doctors appointment after some chest pains yesterday then I find this.... just about gave me pains all over again... what a surprise.”
“We found it, and then didn't really want to touch it. Jim decided to try and cross the creek on our way back to the truck, he fell in, and that concluded our caching for the day!”
Here’s another cache of ours that is amusing, which has been archived “Walking Spot on the TART Trail.”

You need to read the logs from first to last to get a good laugh out of this one.

You might be a geocacher if.... a stranger stops you and asks for directions and you give him the waypoint.

I would like to place the Michigan cache in the Cross America series around Traverse City, Michigan
Please contact me at rathergohiking@charter.net if you are interested in placing a cache in this area.

Of all of the caches I've placed, here is my favorite:
GCRKWF "I'd rather be abducted by aliens!"

Here are some other ones of mine:
GCRKG1 “I’d rather bring my own toilet paper!”

GCRDYM “I’m rather afraid of Trolls!”

GCRVH9 “Life is rather good in Northern Michigan!”

When it comes to content, what are some of your favorite or unusual geocaching pages? Here's a few of mine from the Traverse City area in Northern Michigan:
GCRKWF "I'd rather be abducted by Aliens" (makes the list because its mine!)
GCM27E "Area 51" (a great puzzle cache by Whitard)
GCRE06 "Dial a Cache" (a one of a kind by ABXGuy)
GCJE8Q "I found Camp 5" (an interesting write-up by Basswoodbend and a clever placement of the cache)

Does anyone know if there is Windows based software or a website that can calculate waypoints given a combination of distances, bearings, ect?
A couple of examples:
1) Given two waypoints, calculate a third waypoint according to user input specifications. For example, I would like to figure out what the waypoint is for 1/4 of the distance between two waypoints.
2) Project a new waypoint given bearings, distance and an beginning waypoint.
Thanks!

I've never let snow get in the way of a good cache....it adds to the challenge. We get our fair share up in northern Michigan.
