  1. I'm afraid the bit that confuses me (easily done ) is where it says "The container is clearly marked CACHE. The cache is hidden under a rock, please do not put anything in the cache or take anything out,....." What's that all about?
  2. Looking forward to it Bob. Hopefully I will have transport available on the Sunday to get people over to here.
  3. My worst offence was here when a wrong digit put us half-a-mile out. Since we were in an old mining area the thought of falling down an old shaft or air vent as we went cross-country was not a welcome one
  4. The adapter I have I got from globalpositioningsystems which works with my Legend and Foretrex 101. I use it to communicate with GSAK and Memory Map and I remember having the same connection problems at the start. When you get the error message in GSAK ' Can't open Com ....' , check to see what port the Device Manager has assigned the cable and change GSAK to suit. Close the programme and re-open it and hopefully they should sinc. I also have to make sure I plug the cable into the same physical port on my laptop everytime otherwise I get the error message. Hope this helps.
  5. Sorry Hazel, I read that as AT Bournemouth and couldn't stop laughing Please forgive me
  6. Here are a couple of my favourites. Croabh Marina Looking for a micro (honestly )
  7. As I walked across burnt grass to this one I expected the worst but it had been saved by Blue Watch from Cumbernauld fire station who attended the fire. They signed the log and re-hid the cache.
  8. Is it just me or is anyone else getting bored with opinions from people who have never bothered to get off their a*** and actually find a cache?
  9. During my first marriage I hitched up a two adult Cambridge sidecar to my 500cc Matchless motorbike....I rode with it for nearly a year....in the end I had to give up on the idea as I never had so many close calls on the road as with this combo ... and that was with expert help setting it up. So I wouldn't trust my coffin to this hearse...no way...I might end up in an accident! Bill. I think Bill set the standard for the perfect send-off here A great day for a great guy
  10. What makes you think any cache is hidden inside an ancient building? Looking at your stats (0 Found) it appears you could do with some hands-on experience of geocaching. I too would like to see the facts behind your hammer story. (Note to self: Don't forget to put hammer in caching bag )
  11. Does Kevin know you've started this thread?
  12. I'll look for a cache no matter what size but I do think the location should determine the size, ie middle of no-where= 5 gallon bucket (it could happen ), city centre = micro (usually). On the other hand I know of families who use the lure of the swaps to get the kids out and about, which is why they avoid micros ( possibly a reason why this remained unfound for over 2 weeks).
  13. How about a quote : "Don't make me come down there" - GOD
  14. It's normal to claim and e-mail at the same time. Any problems and I'm sure they will get back to you.
  15. Have any of you guys ever thought about dropping off a TB to be 'stolen' where it could be monitored. Just a thought.
  16. If you are in the area there is an event cache planned for Sunday the 27th August, details of which can be found here . I'm sure you will be made most welcome.
  17. How about ......he was standing alone which is on the map as Samson's Stone and Mick Jagger which is shown as Rocking Stone.
  18. Don't forget Alex's Oban Bypass
  19. My favourite has to be Clach na Coinneach. Probably because it made me feel like Indiana Jones for a few hours
