And will possibly be in Copenhagen for a few days the following week. First question, how is the weather and ground cover? And second, can anyone recomend any MUST DO caches near either city?

    I've replied via email.

This is caused by the combination of a delete link too near the edit link and no confirmation prompt.

And here I thought it was caused by you pushing the wrong button.

Nope. This function has been shut off for a couple of months now. Below the map, this message is posted:

"Please note: Due to the high traffic the web site has been getting lately, we have had to disable listing caches you have found. We're working on a better mapping solution which should be available by the end of February. Sorry for the inconvenience."

Well, february has come and gone... icon_eek.gif

Jeremy says it will work again with the new site design. Time frame: April-May ...

It depends on the cache density and the time between caches.

The 50 hours for one week was in London while caching on foot (and the occasional underground trip). The problem with caching in London is that there are so many pubs that you have to visit while you are caching ... icon_wink.gif

At least the caches I have visited in DK have resulted in at least a short walk icon_wink.gif

Keep in mind that it is much easier to find a place that requires a long walk in Sweden than it is in Denmark. Even in the southern parts like Skåne. Arktis: Do yourself a favor and take a saturday out of the calendar for some of the caches in Skåne with a high terrain rating.

    Sounds like a plan icon_biggrin.gif

Each container is actually two separate plastic containers. They can be split into two with a saw.

That would be one cool cache icon_cool.gif

It seems the Swedish armed forces uses the American Browning .50 cal machine gun. The Swedes call it "Tung kulspruta 12.7mm". The ammo boxes for this weapon are the one youo want. Now all you have to do, is find some army people to get them for you.

Not really, but I can't say I have any complains about the price of the ammo boxes.

I am a reservist in the army and went to the nearest barracks and asked around who whas in charge of used ammo containers. Then I asked her politely if I could have some, and she agreed.

And for you Swedes: Think creatively. The container for 84mm propelled rocket grenades for Carl Gustav are water proof and you should be able to get them in Sweden (since it is a Bofors weapon).

    Absolutely.

I have my basement stuffed with ammo boxes, and my only (so far) cache is a standard .50 cal ammo box.

For mapping software, I use MS MapPoint with Pocket Streets on the PDA. There are other mapping software available, I just haven't tried it out yet.

Ditto on the software plus I use my own script for converting .loc and .gpx to Mappoint compatible cvs-files.

I use an Ipaq 3660 on the hardware side.

    IMP = Individual Meal Pack

    Deuce-and-a-half = 2½ ton truck

I'll start working on the export stuff once 0.1.31 is out, but until then, I don't want to start making major changes to the code (since I really want to release something quickly).

Perhaps a button to change icons based on type and size (like Spinner) for version 1.32?

Anyway, I would love to use GPX & dump Mobi but I have one or two simple questions....

    1.What the hell is GPX?

    & 2. How do I use it???? icon_confused.gif

    1) They like LOC-files, but better. They have much more information in them. Even the last five logs. You can change your existing pocket queries to GPX.

    2) Which PDA? If you have a Windows based PDA you can simply use GpxView. Install it and transfer the GPX files to the PDA.

If you have a PalmOS based PDA, someone else will help.

    Wow!

I must say that ClayJay has been spending the waiting time wisely.

I agree that if Watcher could do what Spinner and GPSBabel can, and if it could upload directly to my GPS, it would be my only GPX program.

    Now, Jeremy: What's the status?
