  1. Help Center → Hiding a Geocache → Geocache Ownership: A Long-Term Relationship 4.23. My Geocache Needs to be Archived http://support.Groundspeak.com/index.php?pg=kb.page&id=56 B.
  2. How? Making a "rule" is all very nice, but it's the enforcing that is the difficult part. How could Groundspeak possibly enforce a rule about physically removing an archived cache from its hiding spot? B.
  3. Can't one say the same about souvenirs? It doesn't say anything about the 'merits' of a geocacher and creates a competition where there shouldn't be one. I don't see any more "competition" because of the souvenirs than any other part of geocaching. I love the souvenirs, but I certainly don't feel any "competition" because of them. Who am I competing against? If one doesn't like the badges, then one doesn't need to put them in their profile. Easy-peasy. I wish GS would come up with a code for the souvenirs, so that the people who constantly complain about them could make the decision whether to receive one or not. I also wish GS would allow the users to remove any souvenirs they don't want from their profile. B.
  4. Assuming that you are using the Groundspeak app: Help Center → Apps → iPhone Geocaching® app 1.5. How Do I Add a Waypoint? http://support.Groundspeak.com/index.php?pg=kb.page&id=721 B.
  5. A special subforum is here: Groundspeak Forums >Geocaching and...> Education >Youth Organizations & Clubs http://forums.Groundspeak.com/GC/index.php?showforum=108 B.
  6. You don't need to solve the puzzle to get the souvenir. You use the souvenir as a means to solve the puzzle. You've got the souvenir in your profile already. B.
  7. "Geocaching tasks"? Do you mean that you will be hiding geocaches? It's not a gecoaching event. Maybe a reading of the Guidelines might help: https://www.geocaching.com/about/guidelines.aspx B.
  8. What exactly happened when you clicked on "download this geotour"? When I click on it, a separate box comes up that will let me save the geotour's gpx file. (Which I can save to my computer.) What browser are you using? B.
  9. A little further down, in this forum: Repeated logs My logs from today were logged numerous times http://forums.Groundspeak.com/GC/index.php?showtopic=341645 I don't use any 3rd-party gizmos, so I only know the way to delete duplicate logs is to do them one by one. B.
  10. Help Center → Finding a Geocache → Logging a Geocache 4.2. What log type should I use? http://support.Groundspeak.com/index.php?pg=kb.page&id=534 3.7. 11. Threads are not deleted. If you hit the report button in your post, you can ask for a Moderator to close the thread, and no more replies can be added. B.
  12. It's not because this particular cache owner has not logged in in a while. Might be some drama going on behind the scenes. https://www.geocaching.com/profile/?guid=a583d37c-c5c3-4b50-9b6b-60140eb03e7e&wid=0de2808c-1f70-48de-826c-58e85f59126b&ds=2 Adoption policy is still the same...it's up to the cache owner to initiate the adoption procedure of active caches. Whether a "locked" member can do that on their own or not...I dunno. Maybe they have to go through GS. 4.21. Adopt or transfer a geocache http://support.Groundspeak.com/index.php?pg=kb.page&id=54 B.
  13. It would be of great help to others if you provided the details of which suggestion worked. B.
  14. You don't specify what phone or what app you are using now. Have you tried Groundspeak's free app? http://support.Groundspeak.com/index.php?pg=kb.book&id=12 B.
  15. No problem. A quick Google search for "Geowoodstock" was the way I found that site. B.
  16. It is a set of dog tags? It says "trackable at geocaching.com"? Which cache did you find it in? Just a thought: could you send a photo of it, with the tracking number, to Eartha, the moderator of this forum? Perhaps she could help. B.
  17. There was no souvenir for the promotion. There is supposed to be a badge, which is completely different. https://www.geocaching.com/blog/2016/09/dont-miss-this-ftf/ https://www.geocaching.com/blog/2016/10/whats-the-difference-between-geocaching-souvenirs-badges-and-trackable-icons/ B.
  18. Report the username to Groundspeak, referencing this thread: http://support.Groundspeak.com/index.php?pg=request B.
  19. You need to tell the Reviewer the actual final coordinates. You can do that in a "Reviewer note". The actual final coordinates are what the Reviewer will be checking for saturation, etc. Help Center → Hiding a Geocache → Review Process: Hiding a Geocache 1.21. 21. Wowza. Do you have a blog or website where you will be posting reports and photos? Wishing you good luck and great weather. B.
  22. It actually says "retrieved from Outside Plumbing"...ie, retrieved from the cache where you found it. Outside Plumbing https://coord.info/GC61HKJ You would log the retrieval just like normal. B.
  23. 1.11. Finding your Local Reviewer http://support.Groundspeak.com/index.php?pg=kb.page&id=200 B.
  24. There's been a lot of discussion of the detrimental effects that bogus find logs have on cachers and caches. A search of the forum might prove useful as to why spammers and archair loggers do indeed affect all of us. B.
  25. Did you report the username to Groundspeak? B. I sent the original email that started this thread to GS, on the advice of one of the very first posts. I didn't include the username there, just as I didn't here. I wanted to wait to see if they would reach out to me about this. So you want GS to guess which of the millions of usernames it is that you are having a problem with? B.
