  1. The question becomes, If you get a reviewer to archive an old cache because the owner is no longer active does that cache then become Geolitter? Who removes it or does it just stay out there forever? Generally speaking, if the cache is still there and being found, the reviewer will not archive it. Most of the time, it will only get archived if the cache goes missing -- in which case, there is nothing to pick up. But there are exceptions and sometimes the cache (or the remains of it) does become geolitter -- unless the person who reported the problem to the reviewers, takes it upon him or herself to go clean it up. In theory, the job should belong the cache owner -- after all, they promised, when they placed the cache, to maintain it. But if the cache owner were maintaining it, then the cache wouldn't be archived. Catch-22.
  2. Unless there is something of significance to the cache, I see little point in keeping poorly maintained caches around merely because they are old. But this is something that tends to take care of itself. If there is significance to the cache, there is almost always someone who cares enough to maintain the cache... Any time I see a cache that is obviously not being maintained, one of the first things I do is to click on the owners profile link. The last time they visited the Geocaching.com is prominantly displayed. If it's been a year since the last time they logged in, it's a pretty good bet that the cache owner is not going to do much to maintain the cache.
  3. Hey, have you spotted the little "Share this with Facebook" icon that the new forum software has? I'm sure that Harmon will be thrilled...
  4. Meanwhile, back at the ranch (that's actually a bit of a hint...) Honk if you know where this is...
  5. I always thought of myself to be more of a Tin Man... ...but on the otherhand, I have some pretty definitive proof that I have a heart. Brains? Now that's a bit more questionable... (P.S. So good to be back. When they upgraded the forums, they broke something and I haven't been able to login until now.)
  6. Hmmm...due to some recent "digital" surgery, I'm thinking that Poor ol' Harmon is the only one among us who can cross his Fangers using only one Fanger...
  7. Wow! You must have been good this year...(though I'm guessing that the accountant doesn't read the Groundspeak forums...) I've been very pleased with my Kindle. They work very well when you are laid up by one of life's cruel jests... Regarding the Tungsten E2, there's nothing like a little research to answer this sort of question. We could hold an event cache to find out...
  8. Probably the same person who put the helicopters on this cake, I'd guess... (Perhaps someone would like to explain the significance of the helicopters to the newer members... )
  9. You gotta look at the bright side...since your birthday, no one has sliced any of your appendages, no photoshopped images with bag hats and donut goggles have appeared on the forums, and Jodi hasn't tried to kill you....
  10. Alligator Lizard on the trail near Nice View!. I thought it was the backend of a snake at first...
  11. I was thinking that one of the two of you had to be on the 11th. Happy Birthday, Harmon. And, Tom, Happy Birthday to you too... (a little in advance...)
  12. Ms. LLOT took the photo (or at least part of it, anyway...) Not sure who's the GeoChick. I sure don't remember seeing her out there in the desert...must have been one of them mirage thingies... (not to be confused with Miragee...) Why do I have this feeling that Harmon is headed for trouble again? It's like the story of the boy who, even though he's been burned many times, just can't keep his fangers off the pot-belly stove...
  13. Honk!!! Near a barn that I circled and circled... I'll add my honk as well. (I brought Ms. LLOT along so I didn't need to circle the barn at all...)
  14. I'm ho-hum about them. They don't add much to the GC experience from my perspective. But as with most things in this game, there are probably people out there who will want to collect as many of these as they can. Your mileage may vary...
  15. Actually, I have it on good authority that they created a joint account due to the fact that Marko knows that I've been timing my cache releases to avoid Marko on account of the infamous "dunk tank incident"... Come on folks ... think hard, who has shown personal traits that would include aspiring to the social status of a reviewer? "Aspire" implies an ascension -- and that's not the usual direction when referring to achieving the "social status of a reviewer"... Anyway, from what I've read in the forums, becoming a reviewer is kind of like becoming a pope. You have to exhibit no interest whatsoever in becoming a reviewer in order to be considered. It's kind of hard to aspire to something and have no interest in it at the same time. (But that's just the sort of multiple personality that the Lillypond looks for -- or so I've heard...) I know a few ladies that were flirting with the Lackeys in Seattle....hmmmm.....I wonder.... It wasn't just the lackeys' they were flirting with...I seem to remember some photos taken with a giant frog...

  18. Guess you missed FlagMan's comments about Marko, then... WooooHoooooo!!! I think I was finally successful in getting that Pinko Commie fired!!! O please, say it isn't so ... that Commie Pinko Reviewer guy would never give up without a fight.Noooooo! San Diego is so lucky to have two such dedicated reviewers... This new person has a lot to live up to!!! I'm betting the new guy is no better than the old guys...
  19. Guess you missed FlagMan's comments about Marko, then...
  20. OMG...you don't suppose he's been sucked into FaceBook??? Could it be that he's been playing FishVille and Happy Pets...?
  21. Haven't been there, nor found the cache, but I'm certain that it's just down the road from Harmonville...
  22. Duplicate post (and I don't even remember hitting the button twice; odd...)
