  1. Hmmm...wondering what I did to end up here? You ever notice that whenever he gets himself into a hole, ol' Harmon grabs a shovel and starts digging?
  2. Until I read his post, my bet would be on FlagMan. In fact, I'm still betting on FlagMan...
  3. I'm happy to report, though, that it is just a single day ban...
  4. Our community is diminished. Rest in Peace, cegrube.
  5. Spotted my first Pacific Diamondback of the year out near Ivan Drago (GC2N1AW). Actually, I darn near stepped on him. A bit of a wake up call, that... Then, on the way back, I spotted this guy (I was paying attention to where I was stepping...!)
  6. I just saw the StreetView Google Mobile go by yesterday. Soon you'll be able to go to the corner of Mira Mesa and Reagan Road and see me in Google Earth!
  7. I had not noticed anything but then my cache pages tend to be very tolerant of the kinds of things that browsers can do when rendering cache pages. That said, over the years I've seen a handful of instances where the Lilly Pond decides that it needs to freshen the format of the site and some programmer delivers a new bunch of CSS (cascading style sheets) that mess up a few dozen cache pages (usually puzzle caches whose solution depends heavily on the format of the page.) Much yelling and gnashing of teeth ensues and within a day or so the Lilly Pond backs out whatever change interfered with the layout of these cache pages.
  8. Just so you know, take a look at this link to see how Jeep people turn out. Fair warning. Avoidance of jeep ownership will not save you from Harmon's unique perspective (shall we say) of the universe. The secret is to post no photographs (or if you do, put them some place where Harmon can't find them...)
  9. "...there is only one thing in the world worse than being talked about, and that is not being talked about." -- Lord Henry Wotton I'm starting to warm up to this guy already. (I could have sworn that it was Oscar Wilde who said that...but I guess it's never too late to learn something new...)
  10. You know, it's been a while since we last had a geocacher's picnic... (nudge, nudge, hint, hint...)
  11. Happy Geoversary, W9JIM!!! Powder Can Cache was one of my favorite caches and I mourn its loss. In honor of your 10th, I will now take a few moments to make a mental journey back to the Powder Can Cache (ABDSP can take the cache but they can't take my memories!) Thanks for your contributions to the game.
  12. Nice! Many's the time that I've skied up to Brainard. Sadly, that was a lot of years ago. (Sorry that you didn't find the cache...but maybe now you have an excuse to go back again?)
  13. So I recommend that you Kindle Dorian Gray ... a freebie as I recall. You'll see what I mean about your similarity to Lord Wotton in that he always knew just what to say to keep a conversation lively. Well then, I guess I'd better read the book...
  14. Excuse me for living but I never read it. I do remember the episode of Get Smart with the dorian gray paint, though. Lord Henry Wotton seems to the a rather complex character. Difficult to get a handle on him just from reading Wikipedia. Can't figure out if I'm being complimented or insulted here... Incidentally, Sir Henry Wotton (not the one from Dorian Gray) was a diplomat who served King James I of England. He is quoted as having said "An ambassador is an honest gentleman sent to lie abroad for the good of his country." Looks like she got bored...
  15. If you are going to reading on your iPhone, maybe you'll want the Quick Reference Guide instead... http://static.garmincdn.com/pumac/GPSMAP60CSx_QuickReferenceGuide.pdf
  16. Hey Barrie, http://static.garmincdn.com/pumac/GPSMAP60CSx_OwnersManual.pdf Your Welcome, -)----- James
  17. Say Officer Krupke, please hear what I say ... My ma took in washin' and my pa went away. Say...aren't the photo lyrics from Bye, Bye, Birdie whereas Office Krupke was in Westside Story? (Neither of which starred Shirley Temple...) No matter. I took my inspiration from a different source entirely, namely the "Birthday Dirge" (Sung to the tune of "The Volga Boatmen") Chorus: Happy Birthday! <thud!> Happy Birthday! <thud!> (repeat after each verse) 1. Death, destruction, and despair People dying everywhere 2. When you've reached the age you are Your demise cannot be far 3. We love children, yes we do Baked or boiled or in a stew. 4. Birthdays come but once a year Marking time as Death draws near 5. May your deeds with sword and axe Equal those with sheep and yaks 6. May the candles on your cake Burn like cities in your wake. 7. Now another year has passed Don't look back, Death's gaining fast! etc., etc.
  18. Ah hah! That might explain some of the images that have been posted recently over in the "This Just In" thread...
  19. Be careful of what you ask for. As you can see, I got both...
  20. Ummm...Watch out where some of those fangers are a'pointin'. (It's one thing to have to worry about the TSA, but...) P.S. Tha's nae th' recht tartan.
  21. I can't tell you how much I miss Colorado...but I don't miss this part. Happy New Year!
  22. Hmmm...sounds like Harmon's "closure" has come unzipped...
