  5. I would like to propose Waymarking fountains. Not the kind you make with crap from lowes but the large indoor or outdoor kind that are permanent. You could have operable and inoperable, and indoor/outdoor. I would like to manage these if you create this category. thanx
  6. Speaking of crappy stuff that you find in caches...how about all those so called "signature items" that are unlaminated pieces of trash??? I'm not talking about the business cards that some people can barely afford because I understand that. I'm talking about the religious literature that has been filling up local caches. Geocaching is not the place to proselytize(sp?). I can't believe that some people would fill up otherwise cool caches with this stuff. Geocachers don't need saving...unless they forgot to mark where the car was!
  7. Just curious how its going as its been three weeks. Usually doesn't take me that long to place a cache.
  8. I myself like hiking...but geocaching actually gives me the incentive I need to get out there and do it. In april, my wife and I hiked Scott's Gap in the Jefferson Memorial forest over by Louisville. I can tell you that if they take all the caches out of that area there would be no way in HELL that I would get back out there. Same goes for Indiana parks. It may be sad but I am a person that enjoys actually enjoys finding a container. I enjoy virtuals but limit them on my cache runs. Here's a suggestion that I heard...don't tell the DNR! If they don't know the cache is there then they can't remove it! I know, I know that isn't right but neither is what they are doing!!! Even though I am mad it doesn't mean that I would actually do something like this.
  9. I am fairly new to caching but have come across a few caches that give you the parking cords in the middle of their 10pg. description of the cache. Seeing as how I don't have a palm pilot to carry around with me and look at every cache page I have run into a couple that I couldn't do. My suggestion is that Groundspeak should make an option available that would allow a cache owner to have two waypoints for one cache. The first one would be the parking coords and the second would be for the cache. As long as sadistic people didn't abuse this it might help us cachers that don't have a palm pilot and don't want to print off every cache. Sorry if this has already been addressed but I don't have time to sit and look through every posting...if I did I wouldn't be able to go caching. Thanx, Bikini Bottom Feeders
  10. Just started using gsak today Clicked on the split screens button and the program went crazy. It brings up a box to report the problem then restarts and does the same thing over until I con/alt/del and stop it manually. I even uninstalled it and reinstalled it and it still does the same thing. I can't do anything in gsak because it does this everytime. .....any suggestion???
  11. If only the coordinates were posted in a more intuitive manner, such as "a stone throw's north of the big maple east of the sewage lagoon". The problem with geocaching is those darn numbers that force us to use gadgets to get our goods. No wonder the benchmarks are so hard to find. LOL
  12. Hello, I am sorta new to geocaching(mar. 2005). However, I am very interested in helping with the planning of GW4. Wherever it is can someone please let me know how I can help. Also besides the fact that I live in the midwest, I think that Indiana would be a good location because of the centrality and the diverse areas to cache. Some areas are very dense while others are very scattered. If anyone from Ingeo, Geocky, or OKIA are willing to step up then I will be right there with you helping in any way possible. Thanx, Team BikiniBottomFeeders Bloomington, Indiana
  13. I think that one benefit of the members only caches are that you can list it as MO until someone gets the first finders prize if it is something significant. Just the other day someone in my area listed a cache and the first finders prize was worth $26. Maybe memberships could be obtained in other ways than $. Maybe in hosting events, reviewing caches, etc.? Just some thoughts
