  1. You can't just tell us about your poison oak problem with posting pictures.  Come on, give us a look.  :o

I'm not THAT cruel. It would take you forever to clean your keyboard...

Chuy is teaching me to "participate" in the forums. He said if I didn't come say Hi he would never visit any of my caches again..so here I am. I picked this topic to comment on because I actually SAW Flagman's legs and just wanted to cry!!! It's the worse case I've ever seen. To think he was out Bushwhacking in Puzzle Valley yesterday. Now that is a true cacher!!! I've even heard you get it worse the next time!!! Bye Chuy!!

Welcome to the forums.......Good place to catch up on the news in the area!!!!! And have fun doing it!!!!!!

    :antenna::angry::wub::(

  2. The official San Diego Tunnel Rat meeting is now called to order!

    49448655-M.jpg

    Saturday December 31st, 8am

    32°56.262, 117°6.080

also know as Scripps Poway Pky @ Scripps Summit Dr

Adjacent Carl's Jr for your dining "pleasure" if you missed breakfast.

PassingWind and I will be exploring one of the longest tunnels in north San Diego, possibly 1-2 miles, and finding a good spot for a cache placement. The pic is from the tunnel entrance that I scouted with my kids...girls 13 & 10 years old! You can't be scared if a 10 year old girl will go, can you? :antenna:

Bring 2 light sources (head lamps are great!), snacks or a lunch, shoes that you don't mind getting wet, holy water, garlic and anything else that wards off the spooks. I'm bring my camera tripod this time to get some cool pictures, un-blurry pictures.

You can email me for more info or for my cell number.

Are you still planning on doing this?

  3. *By the way Chuy, the trail out to Old Glory is quite a bit above the water.

    Kool, is it bike-able?

Note to prospective Villager Peak hikers; Passing Wind has indicated he is planning the hike on Friday. That deflates my ambition as I was interested in the FTF. I still want to do the hike some day, but I would rather not "shake" things too much at home if the FTf is unavailable.

I'm now thinking of driving down the 94 to Tecate and start working on Night Hunter's caches, as well as the Subterranean cache. I will most likely only be able to cache through noon. You know what that means... I'd like to start no later than 6a.

This is still somewhat in the air. What complicates things further is that I just found out one of our neighbors is getting a masectomy on Friday. We are a very close neighborhood; so, I may be playing Daddy daycare if the Mrs' decide to get together.

What day are you thinking of doing this?

  4. Wow, that's a hike and a half! I'm interested but not quite sure when. Anyone for next Sunday?

I'll hit Topo! tonight and start some of the beta/map work.

I am thinking next Monday, Jan 2nd. I'm off but I still got to run it by the Mrs.

Rich (the Snake of Snake & Rooster) sent me this "muggle" link of the hike.

Monday would be ok with me.......I just walked 26.2 miles so 14 wont bother me .......it is the uphill part that makes me think........but then.....if it is 14 round trip that means only 7 are up

  5. Congrats to Duganrm for hitting 3 ;):) !

Big Congrats there Duganrm.......I see you have passed me........by a few.....but I was saving lives (well, just putting in IV's next to 395) so that slowed me down....sigh.........so BEWARE I will return!!!!!! :D

BIG CONGRATS YOU EARN IT!!!!! KEEP ON CACHING.....I am proud to say that I get to see you in action.

  6. Friday myself Skillet and Fattboy are doing vieja grade old hwy 80 meadows and then if we have time the lagunas. We are leaving my house in santee at 6 am.

sounds like fun aside from that 6am thing. :)

well we have planned about 25 caches to do. If you want e-mail me and I'll give you my cell # and you can call me to see where were at.

If only it were my day off.......sigh........darn work just interferes with the whole thing.......otherwise I would join y'all ;)

  7. I like solving puzzles but never seem to find the time to find them. So I load the ones I've solved into my geepus and if I happen to be in the area I'll find them....

Anyhow here are 10 SDCET outings I'd like to see us do in early 2006 (in no particular order):

    1) Ruinations caches

    2) Couch caches

    3) McGinty caches

    4) Eagle Peak caches

    5) Mount Gower caches

    6) Old Highway 80 caches

    7) Oak Oasis caches

    8) Iron Mountain: Ellie Lane loop caches

    9) Lake Poway/Woodson caches

    10) Devil's Jumpoff

    * I like to do hikes when it's cool out and save the urbans, puzzles and coastal caches for when it gets hot. Of course I'm always game for suggestions!  :o

I still need all but #8 on that list but willing to go to all of them. :o Might also want to add Blue Sky to #9 if you haven't done it. (I did Blue Sky and Woodson but still need some Poway ones)

Here are a couple other series I have on my list. There are others that I haven't spotted in the county yet. I also know of many single cache hikes I would like to get to.

    *3 Sisters Waterfalls

    *Cedar Creek Falls

*Blair Valley (pretty much anything in the desert)

    *Black Mountain

    *El Capitain

*Tuna View Moonscape (wasn't sure what else to call it)

*Palomar Mountain (I know there are some up there but not sure if they are a hike)

I also have a couple that I have already done but Rogue wants me to take her.

    Indian Head Peak

    Lawson/Gaskill (I need a Jeep!)

I volunteer my jeep!!!!! You have a great list too!!!!!!!

  8. I want to do the Ruinations also.......Miragee told me about them and said they are great. Plus there are a whole bunch more in that area.........to me I would rather do these than those puzzles........UGH........but I am still trying to get one solved thanks to the owner.......

Those groupings look great........a million or so caches to be found!!!!!

Pick one announce the time and they will come!!!! I wish I was off during this week and I would cache away but.........people seem to be sick year round.....so I am waiting for this next 3 day weekend.......YIPPEE......

  9. what is planned for this weekend........anything exciting.......???????

so far I know TT is coming to town and Dan-oh is planing to go below ground.

I will go below ground.......and hopefully that wont be the same day as the puzzles.

I was wondering depending on the puzzle day if anyone wanted to go get Nighthunters Stone Ruinations caches?

    Does it require 4WD? :o

I am pretty sure Princess Toadstool has done most of them with her PT Cruiser so I don't think you will need 4WD.

I don't know if there is enough time to do the puzzles and stone ruinations in the same day. I am up for anything though. Always willing to go out and cause myself more pain. :o My knees hurt after the weekend. Work feels like taking a day off to relax. :)

My personal preference would be to do the Stone Ruination caches this weekend...I enjoy the great outdoor caches the most! :)

Duganrm and I am talked about doing the Eagle Peak caches tomorrow or Thursday....I know I need to keep hiking if I'm ever going to be able to do Devil's Jumpoff without being really sore the next day! :o I'm going to do a bunch of chores today to earn some more caching time! :o

I want to do the Ruinations also.......Miragee told me about them and said they are great. Plus there are a whole bunch more in that area.........to me I would rather do these than those puzzles........UGH........but I am still trying to get one solved thanks to the owner.......

I dont know if the ruinations require a 4wd nor the tunnels.......I am looking forward to a grand year of geocaching.......starting Friday evening and this whole weekend.......

I am just waiting to see when TT can do the puzzles....hopefully the 2nd so QDMan can go along.....

That would leave Sunday for something.......

  12. Wow! Awesome pics Pat!!!!!!! B)B)

Wish we could have joined you guys, but Splashman had to work, and we are already planning a trip up there in the Jeep with Vulture & $kimmer.

We'll let everyone know what day in case others may want to go as well.

Did you guys make a loop out of it???

    Splashette B)

Wished I could have joined you but Miragee and i were out saving lives and taking pictures of vehicles on fire.........and then taking my poor jeep in for new Struts in the big town of Ridegecrest..........the pictures look sooooo great.......I am hoping you all plan something like this shortly.

  13. Tomorrow Duganrm and I are meeting at the parking lot near Fattboy's  cache at 12:45PM to do the caches on Cowles.

Anyone that wants to join us is more than welcome!

Don't forget about my new one near the entrances to mtrp Its there, gcrn8r

I had that road cleared out already!

I guess I will have to try and make it over there so I can have them all done again.

...and while we are at it you can help with TT's Nuisance #4 cache (if I get stuck)! :D

P.S. Does anyone know when the Puzzle Expedition to Spring Valley is? I've been diligently solving the puzzles in preparation for it!

Dont hold your breath on the #4.....course the rock pile is getting smaller.

I dont know when the puzzle thing is as I have been asking the same question.........does anybody know? If there isnt a date.......set one

  14. Introducing YMS #26 - Team Reid

Thanks, Harmon, for the design work!

Doing the layout for YMS #26 was a real pleasure. Thanks for the opportunity FlagMan.

Everybody should notice the clever way that the Yrium and the FlagMan avatars are placed. That's FlagMan's idea.

Ain't that some pair of dames?

    Robyn :D & Kathy :P

Uh, so y' haven't seen th' misprint as yet huh?

In the meantime, everybody, take a look at this.

I just can't help myself when it come to puddles! "Hurry, Mom! Roll up the window!" was my favorite saying in Moab! Sure did have a blast - looking forward to going again soon.

    Robyn :)

AWESOME You 2 deserve to be on the card with a jeep looking like that........muddy muddy.........holler when yall go to get the jeeps dirty again.

  15. Some of you older cachers might enjoy this[

    Merry Christmas

Bless you Vagabond, finally I have the Christmas spirit. Santa as a lounge lizard is just too good to be true. I'll just go out on a limb and say that its the best gift I'll receive this year.

    "I'm dreamin' of a whi-i-i-ite Chris'mas .... ooo, oo-w-a-h-h.

    Merry Christmas to all!

Ditto! Merry Christmas to all!!

Good song....thanks for putting it on the forum. HAVE A MERRY CHRISTMAS :D:lol:

  16. OK, now for a roll call! Who is planning on meeting us at 7PM tomorrow at the 56&15 P&R to head over to do the Christmas Card Lane cache: GC2BB4? So far we have: Smiling Lady, Duganrm, Team Reid and myself.....

I just want to make sure that we don't leave anyone behind!  :(

add the entire Dillon Gang to that list...perhaps even the dog....leaving the turtles and cats at home

We could make a song out of this! :P

    One Smiling Lady

    Two from Team Reid

    Three Garmin GPSs

    Four with TG and Duganrm

Five more with the Dillon Gang and their dog!
