    Have a fun time at the Pizza event guys, sorry I couldn't be there to eat, drink and be merry with you all. We're off down to Baja for a couple of days of R&R.

     

    Talking of events, I know there are at least 3 of us (me, zatyko and devhead) who like to take part in the various running events that go on around town, and I was wondering if there'd be much interest in making one of them into an event cache? It usually costs $20-30 to enter, though some also take donations/pledges from your family and friends. You can often enter as a team, which would make it more fun, and they're usually in the sort of place where you can have a picnic afterwards, so non-runners could still join in the fun.

     

    Here's a good local running calendar - I would suggest a few possibilities:

    10/02/05 Balboa Park, 5K walk and 10K run benefitting AIDS charities in SD county.

    10/08/05 Pacific Beach, 8K run as part of Pacific Beachfest

    10/09/05 Downtown to Coronado, 8K over the bridge

    11/06/05 Balboa Park, 5K Susan Komen Race for the Cure

     

    Any takers?

    This would be great. I am training for a marthon so anytime I can get an amble with a group the better.

    Let me be the first to congratulate TrailGator on his 800!

     

    We met him today doing his #799 and on his way to #800. Earlier in the day we spoke on the phone. I had called Kawikaturn to see if he wanted to do the Dan-oh with us forgetting he was in NY. We had a cross country chat and he gave me TrailGators lifeline which we needed! Thanks. Nice to get to know you.

    Sorry to be late on my congrats.....am chasing down some caches between Oregon and San Diego via the 395.

    So CONGRATULATIONS AND MAY YOU HIT ANOTHER MILESTONE.

    Wow stay off the internet while traveling to Oregon and get back on to find.......many congratulations.......

    :P Congrats on the 5000 post, the 100 pages and of course to the 2 who found their 500th cache.

    A round fo applause for the management of this event, and kudos to all cachers for doing their bit to maintain the frail environment.

     

    It was a honour to attend this, my first Geo-bash.

    I agree totally. It was my first event and I had a grand time. Looking forward to the pizza party and the campout/off road event.

    IT'S COMING!!!!!!!!!!!! :D:D:D:D

    Get your calendar out and mark these dates:

    OCT. 29 & 30.

    The Third Annual Campout, Chili Cookoff, Poker Run, & Geo cache bash is in the planning stages. The same awesome crew is assembled and getting ready !!!

    We had sooooo much fun last year, that a third annual was a no-brainer.

    The only change will be the location, which will be in the Truckhaven area off of

    S-22 on a mesa overlooking the Salton Sea and the Truckhaven hills.

    So, dust off those chili recipies, and be prepared for fun!

    More details later, the cache page will probably come out in Sept. sometime.

    Congrats on everyones milestones. Sorry to hear someone is leaving the area!!!! Cold over there.

    I was wondering if anyone wanted to join me in doing the pines to Palms and palms to Pines, as much as can be done on Friday. If so please message by 3pm Thursday (tomorrow) so we can set up a meeting point. I have a whole 37 to my name so you would be going with a beginner.

    CONGRATULATIONS TO THE DILLON GANG!

     

    1000 FINDS!

     

    Cache_kid and I along with his mom and sister had the distinct pleasure of picnicing with the entire Dillon Gang this afternoon. After a nice lunch along the cliffs overlooking the ocean we walked over to the place where The Dillon Gang would log find #1000!

     

    Woo Hoo!!! Lets all give it up for The Dillon Gang!

    I am new to geocaching and am totally enjoying getting out and learning more about this area. I found another incredible place to hike today while finding a geocache. Will be going back to find others in the area when the bushes are not so very big!!!!!! I am looking forward to meeting all of you out and about.
