  1. Share your pictures and how many you're dropping! We've spent the past few nights preparing (drilling, activating, tagging) some coins to drop and start their journeys. In this batch we did 14. (Make sure that when you take your picture you've got the tracking number covered!)
  2. I hope this is just a case of your mail ending up in the junk folder or that they just haven't had time to respond. It would be really sad if it was anything else. If they are only dealing with their "friends", why would they bother posting in the trade thread?
  3. You are right about the buyer beware. But you can hedge your bets a little. We are learning about who does and doesn't remint. I keep that in mind when purchasing. We are learning, yes, but not everyone is as on top of it. I feel bad for the newbies who haven't a clue, or even those who have been around and don't scour these boards.
  4. Ok, I'm gonna leave that alone C4.... Just too easy. BOT-What I'm seeing as I read through this is that there are becoming to distinct groups-those that trade and those who don't. I don't really think that ebay is that big of an issue here, there are just a few who buy a whole bunch for this purpose. There are a lot of people here who buy extras to trade, and changing the totals really messes with the trade value. The question again, are the traders becoming the minority? Perhaps it's just where this hobby is headed.
  5. And there would be the issue, it goes both ways. Sounds like a clear stating of "this is it" or "there may be more" would be a good start. I'm not sure how I feel about the different metals issue. On the one hand it seems like this keeps trade value up, as there were only X number in a certain metal, but the overall number of that coin goes up, so does that decrease their value? I guess the other side of that, is trading still alive and well? Seems like it's an awful lot of buying and selling (not trading), so what does it matter then? I personally liked when there were only small runs of coins, not everyone got them, and u had to trade.
  6. What coin buyers want to see: - Size and weight of coin - Metal (finish) - Enamel (hard or soft) - Price - Delivery date -shipping cost for both US and Int. -total quantity made (broken down by metal, including AE, XLE, ZE, FE, WE, PE, DE, Blah blah blah) -re-mint possible, no re-mint
  7. All the info prior is correct. Hope you found the code. If not drop me a line and we'll get it sorted out. And like AG said, I hope u traded even or up, it's so fun to find a coin in a cache as swag!
  8. There are also WAY more caches being put out then there used to be, which is coin to spread the coins thinner. I think there are more coins being put out than ever, it's just that it can't keep up with the caches being placed.
  9. No worries, we'll help you get it figured out. Stuff happens, it's great that you're trying to figure it out! If you're still having problems PM one of the mods and they can help u further.
  10. Looks good, glad I could help! Good luck with your traveller(s)!
  11. Check there feedback if you haven't done so already. If it's good then I'd give them the benefit of the doubt, moop is right stuff happens all the time. You can try contacting the mint on the flip, but there are companies who actually pull out the authentic flip and put there own in(I guess to try and pass the coin off as theirs), so they may not be able to help you. Moop Along is trustworthy with the code though if you need help and he's offered.
  12. Did you figure it out ok? Let us know if you still need help with this coin.
  13. Our thoughts are with u Jaime. Sedona is playing, happy and healthy now.
  14. The opposite way is good too! A few of each, see which one crosses the pond first!
  15. Wow, sorry to hear about this, glad everyone is ok. I'm making a list of people in these forums never to drive with, some unlucky people in here!
  16. The only thing you aren't allowed to talk about is the sale of non-trackables. We love to hear everything else about them! Pictures are even better!
  17. You should mail some of these (activated) out to local cachers in Hawaii to begin their travels out there!
  18. I never diagreed with the need to sell it or whether one should if they need to. I have always said it's just a coin. I was trying to shed some light on the ownership issues, that's all. I hope all is well and these coins make a dent in your troubles.
  19. In reference to permission to sell, search it, but the short answer is the coins are all activated under his name, so they're really not anyone else's to sell w/o permission. Just answering that question.
  20. coinsandpins.com has these: travel slug $3.49 you can also find some on ebay for $4-$6 if you keep your eye out. Don't know of anywhere where u can actually go pick them up in Utah though, sorry. If it's in a cache it's gonna be desirable enough for someone to steal it, that's just the risk you take. Drilling and tagging helps that somewhat. Good luck.
  21. It adds a wonderful personal touch, however... Most I think are displaying their coins some how and therefore it won't be kept in it's bag and/or with the card. It's very nice when you receive it like that, almost like getting a present, but then the extras end up at best in the "misc" drawer or more likely in the can. I guess it just depends on how much money you have and if it's worth it to spend it on the extras.
  22. Sorry for your loss Tom and ArrowOne.
  23. It's not a silly question, it's a very valid one. There are some great people on here and if you post a coin you're working on, then it's hands off to some. Then there are others that take that as a sign that they need to push one out quicker than you to get the sales in first. The best advice is to have an idea that is as unique as possible, thus reducing the risk of someone with your idea. At this point I would say don't post until you're ready to sell, or someone will take your idea and pump it out as fast as possible.
