  1. I have got iTunes programed to download this. Some really good stuff. I do agree though. Less of the OT stuff and more caching stuff in the shows.
  2. Way to complicated for me....... Easier way. Most of my finds are about a 2 average.
  3. Same here. I dont like DNFs because sometimes I am just to stupid to find the darn little thing. For instance. There are some caches up towards WV, DC, MD called "Off Your Rocker". These are located at Cracker Barrels. Down here where I live, we dont have but 1 CB, and the cache is in the parking lot. Apparently, thats not how all of the caches are. We had about 3 DNFs on those caches, UNTIL we looked for one where it revealed where it was. We had looked and looked for those others with no avail. Found the one, and it all fell into place. When I DO log a DNF. I usually do this when I know where the cache is, and the cache is clearly not there. Ususally on micros where I know where it should be, its just not. I even try to make sure by calling previous finders.
  4. To me, it means that I: 1) Found the cache 2) Signed the log 3) Didnt have to log a DNF 4) Had a really good time caching
  5. What is the nicest or most generous thing another cacher has done for you? This thread was created to be argument and angst free. After all of the negativity in some threads lately, some positivity would be nice.
  6. I would suggest sinking some money into trackable, personal geocoins. Great trade items, can be sold to other cachers for greater circulation, and can be personalized to meet what you want on them. Check here: Coin and Pins.com
  7. Personally, I dont think its cheating (unless you do this on every cache you find). I have had several occasions where I have had to 'phone a friend' to be able to find the cache. I only did this after several visits to the site of the cache though. For example: Big Bang. I visited this site almost 5 times before I phoned a previous hider. Even then, with this type of hide, it was very hard to get the cache. So, under the right circumstances, no I dont think its cheating.

  9. I have recently been trying to get some ammo box hides out there. I usually just paint them one soild color. I just the other day tried some cammo. Green and black. Just wondering if anyone has any tips on painting camo ammo boxes.
  10. I forgot. Cell phones can have better reception if you get a phone with digital and analog. (Just like Renegade Knight said). A good case would be good for it to.
  11. I would suggest the follwing items for caching (technology and carry-along stuff) PDA for Cachemate A light jacket Your GPS of course Cell phone Caching bag or pack First aid kit Walking stick (for those hikes) A extra log or 2 to replace bad ones Hope this helps some
  12. I know that around here, States of 4, Tube Torcher, and LOst COve are the most extreme caches that we have.
  13. My record is 400 miles to Memphis. Not really. Was going there on vacation. Usually dont go caching every week or weekend. I do go with some "big wigs" around here and get 20 or so in just a few hours.
  14. Hmmmm...... Never had that happen to me before
  15. In Virginia and TN, the caches are usually approved in the same day unless you post it after 7 or 8.
  16. That has happened to me a couple of times. People logged some of mine but never logged online. Just seems weird to me.
  17. Our condolences. Sorry to here about your brother.
  18. I have my 60CS loaded with 930 caches (including my 58 hides). These caches are all around my area. I have them in there just incase I get to one of these areas and am able to cache.
  19. I agree. Very touchy topic. Around here, we have a few local guys that have reached the 1k mark and are on their way to 2. I would value what they would have to say about a particular cache or a method than I would someone with 20-100 finds.
  20. I must say, I live in a caching community where the people care about their cache hides. The worst container I have ever seen, was on of those flimsy, clear Ziploc containers. One of these
  21. Looks pretty cool to me. Think of the size of the logbook that you could put in there. Or the size of the ammo box that you would need a bag that big in in the first place.
