  1. Could be that things have diverged from the origional intentions of things. Look up Cache and you will probably first find the computer definition of memory storage and then the physical discription: cache (kăsh)

    noun

    a. A hiding place used especially for storing provisions.

    b. A place for concealment and safekeeping, as of valuables.

    c. A store of goods or valuables concealed in a hiding place: maintained a cache of food in case of emergencies.

It would seem that if it cannot hold goods of some sort then it is probably not a true "Cache" ???????????? Larry

  2. I have a new hide that is going on 5 full days without being reviewed. Is there a flaw in the review system that lets thing get "lost"? I checked the logs and there is no action other than what I have entered. Do reviewers ignore some to investigate them or is this a normal thing? Approaching a week without review seems to be excessive to me. Larry

  3. IF I were to do this, I would use thumbwheel switches to select the number and use a normally open push button switch to hold down to activate the power to the system, should last for 10 years or more that way. Take a look at these switches, they appear to have 10 physical switch positions and not the 4 positions with a BCD type switch. Good luck. Larry

  4. Here is a picture of the modified container. The seal is a thin piece of closed cell foam sheet attached with Shoe Goo, the cover is also sealed on the inside with the same stuff and the magnets attached with it. Next time I think I will pay more attention as to how I will seal it against whatever I stick it to. Thanks for the suggestions I really hadn't thought about these types of problems. Larry

  5. I could do a thin closed foam gasket real easy, thanks for the suggestion, even a thin leather seal glued to the metal could do a good job. I will try to do a little work on this thing and place it tomorrow, I will put in some pictures to show how it works out. Larry

  6. I am extremely new, old and retired with some intrest in these things. I am wanting to do an extremely accessable cache, bus route wheel chair accessable type of urban cache. I fabricated a fake magnetic electric plate, there are a lot of steel hexagional light and power poles here, and I think this would be perfect, but then I have no experience with this. Do you think this has a chance of living more than a week or so? Larry
