i tried everything in that thread, and still no luck. i shot garmin an email and it will be 5-7 days befor they get back to me, and i called hp and they want me to reload my os so they are sending me the disks to do that.

I already uninstalled the driver and reinstalled with no change. the weird thing is that all my other usb devices work in the ports. Could it be an internal problem with the unit?

I have a garmin gpsmap 60c, and it has always worked fine. But the other day my laptop (a hp zv6000 running xp home) stopped recognizing it. Every time i plug it in it says new hardware found, then brings up the wizard to install the drivers. i dont have my disk on me since i am out of the country, but downloaded the usb drivers from garmins website, ran the install program for them, and it still will not work. Does anybody have any ideas for me. All the help I can get is greatly appreciated!

I have the ver 3.90, I just didnt want to downgrade until I asked people on here. I seem to have good waas fix, but I can not get anything below a +- 14. Also, the unit will take forever to readjust when I stop and then start moving again even when I have a good position fix, is this normal?

I have had my GPSMAP 60C for a few months now, and was very impressed with its accuracy until I installed the newest firmware upgrade. Before I was always getting accuracy of 8-10' and alot of the time even 6'! Now I am lucky to get +- 14. Can someone help?

I am having a problem with the pocket queries. I will send it in and sometime I will get it and sometimes I wont. I am checking all the boxes correctly and it has worked before, so I know its not being filtered from my ISP. HELP

When i download waypoints from gsak to gps and sort by nearest to my location it wont show all of the waypoints, if I sort by name it shows all of them. Is there a way that I can change how many it shows when sorting by current location?

I have a garmin 60c on order right now, and i was wondering, what are some good map programs (for reasonable prices) for both streets and topo. I just spent all my play money on the GPSr, but nw I need the software.

ok, now with the fixed memory of 54 megs in the garmin, about how many maps is 54 megs worth. i mean if I go out on a 3-4 day backcountry hike and need the topos loaded will that do me? and also does that 54 megs include the space for all waypoints or is that already pre-figured?

I just happend along this site on the net a few weeks ago, and started reading about geocaching. now i am really exited to give it a try. I am stuck between to differend gps's right now: the Garmin GPSMAP 60C and the Magellan Meridian Platinum. i was hoping someone could give me some feedback on which is the better choice.

Problem fixed! Garmin emaild me some usb drivers and they worked!
I dont know what the difference was from the ones i downloaded, but I cant complain. Thank you for all your help.
