  1. Distribution of bugs. In play are in caches, others are who holds how many. Don't step in that!!!!!
  2. I think we need to wait until the race is over to decide what the rule could be. There is a lot of race left. Lets let more cachers play. Here are some interesting figures. Akhenaten 1 ambeer 1 brogan 1 coonass 1 dustoff21 10 fishensmit 1 gobucks 4 HFJohn 1 ihs.hiking 2 In Play 33 J. Camper 1 kneal44 2 LLLL 1 Microbe2 1 prettyvacantone 1 Roadkill 2 scubadive 2 Shelly Team 1 Sherwood Forest 1 soccercoach 2 strikeforce1 4 Don't step in that!!!!!
  3. Still have any ammo cans? I live in Wichita but would consider a trip north. quote:Originally posted by treeves7:I need to get rid of a bunch of ammo cans. I've got about 100 50cal., 125 30cal, and 25 large 120mm cans (the 120mm's are a little wider than the 50's and are about 30 inches tall) All are water tight and very durable. They are kind of heavy to ship, but I would consider doing so, would prefer to have buyers come pick them up in Topeka. $2.00 for the 30's, $3.00 for the 50's, and $6.00 for the 120's. Quantity discounts available. Don't step in that!!!!!
  4. I feel like the old Commander Cody song... I'm lost in the ozone, again. Might get better around August when the Northeast finally gets around to spring. Don't step in that!!!!!
  5. Laughs - only if the people want to follow instructions. I have two bugs out with similar instructions both going the wrong way, but they are still a lot of fun to watch. Don't step in that!!!!!
  6. I don't have Printshop or Printartist, I have to rely on Excel and Word....very awkward Don't step in that!!!!!
  7. Thanks junglehair, it has updated now, but I was refering to the stats page, it showed the 3/29/03 retrevial up to the time I posted. I kinda like the time limit too... Don't step in that!!!!!
  8. Well thought junglehair, how about minimum time in cache before the owner could try again? That could easily be applied to teams too. As an aside, thanks for all the map work. I do question why my bug still shows in an older cache. Does it matter? While the physical representation is correct, he has traveled to three more actual locations. The fact one was a locationless cache gave him some outrageous miles.
  9. I really like the sticks this place has....distinctive and reasonable. http://www.exotic-walking-sticks.com/ Hard to find straight sticks where the wind blows..
  10. I was thinking more along the lines of a limit the length of time an interferer could hold a bug. Maybe a limit on the number of times one interferer could handle the same opponent. You would still be subject to the whims of team players. I also think it is fair to handle another racers bug as long as the bug can stay in the race. Slow pick-ups and long stays would still be expected. I wouldn't be surprized to see some late starter finish the race first, avoiding all the squabbles along the way. All good fun.
  11. Since next years race will be run by the NY group, it would be nice to come up with some rules/guidelines that allow racers to interfere with other racers and not disqualify themselves in the process. After all in the spirit of the race it should be do-able.
  12. According to the stats it lists TOMAHAWK as 7882.3 miles from the finish line. Gotta be some kinda prize for that Now if someone can find him and get him going that will be a trick..... All good fun. http://cannonballrun.no-ip.org:8080/cannon/cannon.html [This message was edited by ict X ckr on April 02, 2003 at 03:33 AM.]
  13. I also have a travel bug looking for a lift to Europe. Any destination will do. Small folds flat. Would very much appreciate a lift.
  14. Anyone near "Boys will be boys"? sure could use a push....
  15. I pulled the information from the intermediate page and knew I missed a couple because they weren't on the list, but didn't take the time to look for all the missing info. Adding you to the list of folks from the states between Ohio and California makes a pretty big increase in percentages but is still dang few people. Good luck on the journey.
  16. Here is a breakdown of where the Racers are from CA-17 NJ-1 CT-1 NM-1 FL-2 NV-1 HI-1 NY-16 IL-2 OH-1 IW-1 PA-3 KS-1 SC-1 KY-1 TN-2 MA-3 TX-1 MI-1 UT-1 NB-1 VA-7 NC-1 WA-3 Hope the state codes are right, but you should be able to figure it out. The mid-west has a pretty poor showing, hope we help better than we enter.
  17. I realize what this makes both of us; however it was a natural assumption. The requirement was to send a bug to be entered, with as much extra information as you wanted to add to help your chances. So upon reading this in the rules: "Any bugs without prepaid mailers will be Re-released without their race tags." I assumed some sort of "race tag" would be attached to the bug I sent in, identifying it as a participant in this event. This would be an easy task, just a manila tag with a stamp or a brass tag with some marking on it added as an official endorsement of entering. This would have also eliminated the worry of picking up a racer unintentionally, as all would be identified. Not to mention a nifty item to place in your geocache treasure box when returned. This makes the following; Originally posted by Brogan: Two new rules that have been proposed for NEXT YEARS race are that all bugs must be vehicles, and that they must have a card identifying them as Cannonball Run participants. even more appealing. I would be willing to pay an entry fee if costs seemed prohibitive. Just some thoughts.
  18. Thanks to scubadive for the kick start for TOMAHAWK....most appreciated
  19. quote: Now what is the point of having a delete option if it is disabled? That is how I managed to get the pictures up twice. - The TB is just laminated picture of the thing. Heck of a rocket sled, don't ya think.
  20. Well after seeing the travels Happy Hopper has made this was a very short hop. Hope it helps ladies.
