  1. Our CONGRATS to our wonderful friends LucyandRickie! It has always been a pleasure caching with the both of you and hitting different milestones together. You guys are great!
  2. quote:Originally posted by CachinCin: quote:Originally posted by Criminal:(I didn't notice any attacks, did I miss something?) Yes, you did. Actually, they were probably edited before you read them. I've received two pretty nasty email messages to my personal account as well, one from an anonymous sender claiming to be an approver (a claim I don't happen to believe). That's okay. I think that most of us have been civil and productive. I still love geocaching, and that's not going to change. Cin Criminal and any others who may be confused: Cin is right, you did miss something. I decided to deleted the content of my posts. My intention originally was to point out how, in my opinion, this thread had gotten way out of line. It was blunt, short and to the point. I was upset seeing people I have known and liked behaving in a way that I perceived as dysfunctional. After posting my opinions last night I sat down away from all of this and the thought struck me that by just participating in this thread I was becoming just as dysfunctional as the people I was asking to stop. I had been pulled in by MY OWN choice to participate. Yes Cin did get an email from me, not under disguise like the other she recieved. Yes, I wanted to make my point clear without stirring up a hornets nest again on the thread. Nasty? Well.... I don't see it that way. I just don't hide my opinons under how wonderful I can write and spell. It is not my forte. I just come out and tell it like it is. The other post was written by MR WD. His first very first post! That's how troublesome this has become. He doesn't post on the forums. Sorry to those that I confused. I'm out of here. Donna (WD)
  3. I am in total agreement with George501949... Can't we all just get along? Geocaching is is a very young and rapidly evolving game/sport and as such my preference would be to apply a combination of guidelines and common sense regarding cache placements. The folks who work as approvers are in a thankless position and probably never get any E-mail saying *Thanks for approving my cache* but if the request is denied then oh boy, stand by for some punishment! So now we come back to placement guidelines. It is my opinion that the Geocaching community consensus AND common sense decide what is approved or not approved. Geocaching is far to young and moving to fast to be locked into a set of hard rules unless we are talking about placing a cache in the Stacy Street BNSF switch yard. In the meantime I think it would be nice if we could cut the approvers a little slack while the guidelines/rules are evolving... how long did it take the game of golf to establish it's rules? Hey... this is my first forum post... can I count it as a point? Mr Wienerdog [This message was edited by Wienerdog on September 30, 2003 at 02:17 AM.]

  7. Hey Mariner and Cacheruner... You have been on the top of my worry list all day. I'm so glad you are home and okay. You two little speed demons! I couldn't believe how fast you can cache! That first day with Chloe and George (hee, hee) in the car really slowed us up. Hey you two, I hope you just come down to the Seattle area for a visit and caching. You are part of the gang now! PS Thanks for your generosity Mr BC!
  8. I want to go to Spokane! Dang! I just don't know if I can make it yet. I want to see all of you. All you great people I have met geocaching. Maybe I can put something together. I hope! Donna
  9. OH MY GOSH! This is disguisting. I happen to know Sagefox very well. I know what kind of person he is. He is honest and truthful. Did any of you take the time to see how much he contributed to the sport. The number of HIDES he has placed for other people's enjoyment. He has even gone to the extent of removing caches if he thinks they were in anyway dangerous to the public. Like having to turn around on a road or something. Always concerned for others. That's how much he cares. I have been to so many caches, not talking of his, that are truly on the edge. No where near what he has pulled. So... in a moment of wonder he took a coin. Maybe that was a mistake. I don't really know. But I can tell you from knowing him, he thought about it in no time tried to make things right. It took an honest man to put himself forward like that. All you gruesome people that have been B******G and complaining. How many caches have you found or placed. I can just guess without even looking, that there probably aren't too many. You spend more time on the forums than looking or hiding caches! We have a word for people like you that spend their lives on the forums wrecking havoc. Not geocachers. It's called FORUM SCUM. Very easy to spot. You can reply to me and whatever you say won't effect me. Only those that I highly regard as serious geocachers and friends matter. Sagefox...there are so many positive threads out there. You may have to search a bit. Don't let yourself be subjected to these kinds of people. They don't count. You are far above them. Remember your little gifts? The 'Mind your P's&Q's' hand made by you? Fun little flys in tiny bags. Cool calling cards that people want to get their hands on. The wonderful things you put in caches, putting more in without taking anything out. And the way you take care of other peoples caches??? Oh my! WE love you here in Washington and I know you have many, many California friends! Keep up the good work!
  10. What a fun time watching John (EGH) hit his 1000th! It was a privilage to be with him. Great backpacking trip to a beautiful lake. Now I am trying to go through the zillion of pictures we took. I think now he is headed out for Mt. St. Helens to do a climb tomorrow, Monday Sept. 15th. Go John!
  11. Happy Birthday to Cin! And an early congratulations for you 300th. Wish I could be with my group of girlfriends, but I'm getting ready to head to the mountains backpacking and to find a cache or two! I will be thinking of you all! Have TOO much fun okay? Donna
  12. HEY bOYZ, hOO DA HECC CAReZ? AAN kRIMIE Ware Da pics of dA 100?

Are you feeling with drawn? Don’t be! Are people staring at you? Well they are if you’re hanging out at Check and Recheck! The new hot spot to hang out in Redmond is now open and ready for victims. It’s the place to be seen (at your worst). There’s no dress code and admission is FREE. Bring your own drinks but the food in the area is also FREE (yummy berries). Pepper http://www.geocachingwa.org Horizontals where it's at! Pepper! You funny girl. What are you doing up so late? I assume you didn't find this tonight! I wish I could of come on over to help you. Like I could of found it! Isn't there someone that's out there that has found this could give this poor girl a hint? (Hint, hint)
  14. I haven't registered anywhere yet! Better get busy. So sad to find out today my Brother-in-law, Sagefox, who was planning on coming to this event cannot make it. Dang. I'm going to miss him so much. If Mr. WD comes to this we have to book a hotel that takes Wienerdogs! I heard the Motel 8 was booked. Best we check out the other one. And soon!
  15. quote:Originally posted by evergreenhiker!:Donna and I were FTF for this great hike: http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?ID=86694 Got a late start...probably about 4 pm or so for the hike. Very hot out. Sure drank lots of water on way up. Trail is of good tread though and the grade isn't that bad for a 2500 ft climb to the cache at 6200 ft. Teanaway country is a must do for those who like visiting high places!!!! I'm so late posting this. I just had to get my 2 cents in. This was a beauty of a hike. Although I haven't been in the mountains for some years, and yes... I was sore yesterday! I have to say this hike just showed me a peek (peak!) of the many years I spent wandering around the cascades and that time was probably the most wonderful experience of my life. I am grateful to my friend John, who's company was a blessing. Yes, I did find a Lei at the cache and we wore it proudly. How much fun can one have? But what was I thinking of? Going on a hike like this with someone that calls himself evergreenhiker!? I swear... when this man gets out of eyesight I think he flying up and down the mountain tops. Whoah! I just need to break myself in more. I think. All and all, it was one of those Glorious Days!
  16. Oh Cooperdog, I'm glad your little one is doing alright now. What a scary thing to happen. What a nice guy you are to fix up our cache! I'm sure we can make you an honorary member for your contribution. Plus it sounds like you have some different ways of fixing you PB&J. Which makes you fit right in! AND why don't you come caching with us sometime? We would all like that. Right girls? Take care now.
  17. quote:Originally posted by evergreenhiker!: I'm interested in this one...very much so! I know some actually Tuck and Robin in one day...I could do that without too much trouble, but the temptation of wanting to wander by the lakes and maybe bag the peak begs for a three-day trip...one layover day for exploring. Oh for sure J. It's beeen about humm...maybe 12 years or more since I did that one. I did spend time there. Thre is a peak at about 7200ft. that I did a day hike on. I came up the backside and there before me on the other side was a huge colony of Moutaingoats laying on a small meadow type ledge. I watched them for a long time. There are wild blueberries up there. I remember in the dusky hours crawling around the hillside munching on them and enjoying the view. Beauty! Boy I've had the hardest time spelling Mountaingoat lately. I always want to put a 10 in the middle for some reason. Humm....
  18. quote:Originally posted by Moun10Bike: So when are we setting the date to do that one? Oh man, I wish I could jump in my boots and go tomorrow! I haven't packed for some years as I stated. A lot of you know I got very sick last winter. I spent a few months in bed. I've gone caching but have not taken any time to truly get in shape. Hiking season is short in the high lakes. I wish I had time to get it all together. I will have to work on doing some smaller ones before this one. Maybe very soon! MR WD doesn't like hiking. But he does not care one bit if I go and do the things I like. I used to do conditioning hikes up Mt. Si in the spring before backpacking season. I have done nothing like that this year. Don't let that stop you. But.. but I'd probably cry if you all went without me! Just kidding. Sort of!
  19. Everytime Evergreenhiker and I get together we have these wonderful converstions about the places we have been to. He knows some of my favorites and this one is right up there. I haven't backpacked for about seven years and I truly miss it. Anyway, EGH writes me today and says 'Guess what? There's a cache at one of your favorite places!' This is a beauty. It is an overnight hike but so, so worth it. If any of you can make it to this cache you just won't believe your eyes. You won't ever be sorry that you went. http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?guid=b282e311-368b-4f61-bb40-cb6a4f1b7620 It called K-2 and Robin. It is in the Alpine Lakes Wilderness area. Tuck and Robin Lakes. Take a look at his picture 'View from the cache'. I know Mt. Daniel is so close you feel like it's just feet away. I'm not sure if this ia a picture of Daniel! AND I preferred staying at the lake on top. It's worth the views. The mountaingoats actually come by at night and you can feel them against the tent. 20. Hey Hazard! That's great. 1000! Not bad for.... Quote from Hazard on another thread... 'An old guy, with bad knees' Unquote. From: An old girl with bad knees! We did decide you were a year older didn't we or was it younger? I guess the mind goes next! Congrats!
  21. quote:Originally posted by evergreenhiker!: Weather was great and Donna and I finished the day off by going to Coal Lake Road..totally awesome cache that you can drive to and collect fossils nearby: http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?ID=33799 Sooo....I'm a little late posting here! I had a wonderful time with the PBB and our special honorary member, EGH. We visited the ghost town of Monte Cristo. Found two caches there and placed one on the way in. So much to see there. I think Cin already has a link to them on the PBB post. Then on the way out I went with EGH to Coal Lake Road. Listed above. The view was terrific. I hunted for fossil rocks. Oh boy, I think THAT could get addicting. I didn't want to leave! A great day with great people! [This message was edited by Wienerdog on August 09, 2003 at 04:51 PM.]
  22. I know who that little guy is! AND I who his Daddy is!
  23. Now tell me.... Where on earth do grown-up people get to say 'Firsties' aside fom Geocaching? I haven't got to say that since second grade. It's just a fun game! Walliedawg (who is a friend) and I have this competiton thing going whenever a new cache comes out close by. We post fun things to each other. Again....it's nice to play! And sometimes I just let Walliedawg get firsties anyway. Right Walliedog? Ouch, you didn't have to hit me! I was just goofing around again! Mooooooom, Walliedawg hit me!
  24. Oops! You misspelled Dachshund. You spelled it daschund. Remember this: it's Dachs, like walking on docks. Not Dasch, like dash around the lake.
  25. quote:Originally posted by evergreenhiker!: I wonder if Miss Goody Two Shoes spirit was up there today looking over me as the weather flipped to the great side while I was up there. Wow, you have been hitting and hiding a lot of great caches lately! Cool! We completed Doc. Nel's cache yesterday. It was fun! That 5th WP does take a little figuring but we did it. Yes, MGTS did show up later in the day just when we needed her. It wouldn't suprise me if she did sprinkle some happy dust your way!
