  8. Ahhhh, But if you have a camera with loads of mega pixels you wont want to spend hours uploading a 2mb file to only have it reduced to 100K! I use the XP power toys to reduce them to 640x480 before upload - much quicker Chris
  9. I see cache sizes havn't changed: Micro (35 mm film canister or smaller, typically containing only a logbook) Regular (Tupperware-style container or ammo can) Large (5 gallon bucket or larger) It may just be me, but I mark all of our "Hornet Standard" ammo boxes as large. After all you can get an awfull lot in them and I have only ever seen one bucket in the wild. Is size important? are large ammo boxes Large or Regular? Does it make me a bad man if I said its large when its only regular ? Chris
  10. Great to be back - I was getting So much work done when the forums where down
  11. quote:Originally posted by Seasider:When there are sufficient caches in Manchester will we be able to do the same? If Teasel can provide the technology you will need a list of all the stations and their coordinates. Then you will need a fair bit of spare time to build up the image map. But it should be possible. 12. What Teasel neglected to say is that the new page can be found here - which is a slightly different location to the one at the top of the page. Now all people have to do is find the easter egg... Cheers Chris If only life had an undo button.... London & UK Geocaching Resources: http://www.sheps.clara.net
  13. Most people mail & log at the same time. We have quite a few virtuals and we try to remember to reply to all our mails but sometimes we dont get the mail or just lose track of which ones were mailed. From memory we have only had 2 wrong answers - one had sent a mail for a different cache and the other got it write after some clarification as to what we were after. 15. quote:Originally posted by Pharisee: quote:Originally posted by Chris n Maria: What happens when you click on a station? If only life had an undo button.... London & UK Geocaching Resources: http://www.sheps.clara.net Umm... not a lot...actually. I clicked on 'Kingsbury', got transferred to G:UK but no caches. Clicked on the next station up, 'Queensbury' and was duly told that that wasn't in the database. Thanks - you've found one station that is missing from the DB - click on watford and you should see some results. Teasel is currently working on some magic that will make icons show if there is a cache near to the station. Chris If only life had an undo button.... 16. quote:Originally posted by Mr & Mrs Hedgehog: There are 10 kinds of people in this world. Those that understand binary and those that don't and there's another one (GCH5G7) 0.7 miles away, so you can do three on one go?. Should that be 11 in one go If only life had an undo button.... 17. quote:Originally posted by Pharisee:Nice tube map... very usefull but not a single cache on it John And should you ask, am I at ease there? I'd answer "Yes. Oh yes indeed". For my heart it dwells in lonely places, where springs leap down, where ravens feed. What happens when you click on a station? If only life had an undo button.... 18. Hmmm, does seem a little close but it is just about OK according to the rules. I wouldnt worry about it too much as it will probebly mean more visitors to your cache as people can bag 2 for the price of 1. Chris If only life had an undo button.... 19. quote:Originally posted by SlytherinAlex:Similar to the National Trust? There are lots of caches around that require either a car park fee being paid, or taking the alternative of a very long walk. As long as this is clearly set out on the cache page, I don't see a problem. Alex. I don't see a problem either. If the location is a goody then why not? Chris If only life had an undo button.... It has also moved to GC:UK and can be found atthis page. Please try it out and let us have any feedback.
