  1. I find it odd that they lock all the threads. Every other product website ive posted on allows discussion of competitors. But I really dont care since I just ignore pathtags when I find them.
  2. I watched a crappy rom-com and realized we had a GPS we never used.
  3. My mom. Because she deserves an award.
  4. We always try to sign in order. What bothers me is the people with huge stickers that take up the room that 10 people could have used to sign.
  5. I just choose to ignore them. I am more annoyed candy and soggy cigarettes in caches. You should add "adding to the schedule" to the schedule. Since that comment has become as redudant as the mutiple threads.
  6. Where the heck do you live? Around here we go out of our way to welcome new geocachers. If a new face shows up at an event there is practically a line of people to greet him. Maybe it's a local cultural thing? Ive been to two events and felt the same exact way. There were maybe 2 people at each event that wanted to talk w/ us. But thats alright. I dont cache to meet people.
  7. Ordered you? You suggested to you. And he didnt accuse you of anything than what you admitted to doing. You felt you were wrong enough to change the log, so I dont see how its rude to suggest you apologize. None of the reasons you just mentioned are cache maintenance issues. Personally I would never look for a cache with a site like that, but thats just me. And I would never post a NA or a NM on a cache that I have never seen. And if I did I would apologize to the CO after I found out when and when not to post a NA or a NM.
  8. You have to drive slower, and accelerate evenly to get better gas mileage. I think you missed the joke. The condescending remarks were those that called others snobs and elitists for being able to afford $30 a year on a membership. The others were simply responses to that attitude. On the grand scheme of things, if you're a geocacher and you're here using this site and here in these forums, and you say you can't afford premium membership because of your financial situation, I believe your priorities are out of whack.. or, you just may be cheap. Or Id rather pay for dog and cat food/litter this month. When I get 30 bucks I will renew my membership. Because one cant afford it right away doesnt mean my priorities are out of whack or that I am cheap. And im not expecting any sympathy. Just how it is this month.
  9. Im not a fan of micros, but for some reason I still add them to my PQ's. Ive found a few really cool ones so I cant just disregard them all. But I do spend way less time searching for them while caching. A buddy of mine is trying to make them as small as possible. He has one that is the size of a pinky nail, with hardly any room on the log. Such a was of time searching for that IMO.
  10. I just walk away. Its easier for me to just not deal with the people. I normally cache in a loop so I will more than likly be back.
  11. Already changed... but your post here was way more rude than my original post to be honest. I won't be apologizing. The CO should be maintaining his cache... and never once represented this cache as being in a gnarly poop coated hallway. The level is a 1.5 and should be higher if it continues on. He was not being rude at all. Pointing when to post a NA is good information for new cachers to learn and he should not be ignored because you didn't like his response. Question, how do you know the CO is not maintaining his cache, when you never had it in your hand to know if it needed maintenance?
  12. Puff puff cache. When I have a horrible day I like to get out and go caching too. Takes my mind off of everything until I have to go home.
  13. If the CO wanted to shut down his/her caches thats exactly what should have happened. Then new CO's could use place caches in the same place. And for number hunters, that just means two smiles for the same location.
  14. I had one for 6 months. I was sick and couldnt go caching for a long period of time. Almost 4 months. And I found a coin around the 7th. I havent found a cache safe enough to drop it off yet. It all depends.
  15. The rational the reviewer used to archive the cache in question (the CO had not been on the website) would be true for all the CO's caches. Yet no action was taken on those other caches. The reviewer knows, by their own posting that the CO has not been on the website. So the reviewer knows that the same problem for this cache which causes it to need archiving also is true for all the CO's caches. The reviewer is well aware yet singles out the virtual cache. No it wouldnt. You need to respond your emails to see proof that people were at the cache, they also need to clean up bogus logs. That is not going on with thier other caches. They do not need to be active for a physical cache that has no maintance problems. Once those other caches need maintance and need to be archived they will. But you have already convinced yourself that this review hates virtuals, so nothing I say matters.
  16. well considering the only N/A log on this cache was by a reviewer.... So what? I really dont see how anything is being singled out. The reviewer noticed something and took care of it. When there are problems with the other caches, and the reviewer is aware they will be delt with. You think too much.
  17. Then why didn't the reviewer also archive the traditional caches that are also owned by the same CO as the virtual in question? Seem like bias towards a certain cache type to me. Because there wasnt a "needs archived" log on those caches?
  18. I consider all trackables to be a number. And thats it. It doesnt matter to me what medium its on. The coolest thing about a trackable is where it has gone, not how it looks IMO.
  19. I do believe that was archived because the The Navajo Nation does not allow geocaches on thier land. Not because of a coupon.
  20. I dont get it either. We found at a cache in Griffith Park, Los Angeles at the top of a long ridge line hike. Its not the easiest hike in the world. We put 2 TB's in the cache. We came back a week later, nobody logged the cache, and the only thing missing was one of the Travel bugs. Good thing its misson was to get as close to the Hollywood sign as possible (it came from Germany). That thats about as close as you can get.
  21. We spent 3 hours walking up and down Hollywood Blvd looking at the stars to get the answers for one multi-cache.
  22. The driving, so I can get to an area that is not urban micros. And really bad swag.
  23. I was a PM. I cant afford it right now. It hardly kills the joy of caching for me. There are plenty of other caches to find in my area. And im pretty sure calling people snobs isnt the best plan to get some proactive conversation going.
  24. I load them all into my two GPSes. Then I go on google earth and follow the path im going to take to make sure there isnt a mountain in between two caches. I also print out maps from the parks Im caching out and make notes.
  25. Finding a card like that would go right in my swag box. I keep a box with everything I have ever taken from a cache.
