I wonder. Could it have been a case of "Are you bloody eejits geocachers?" and the group saying yes as they knew they were in bother

All good changes IMO. Thanks for doing this and also thanks to those people who highlighted the problem and acted as a catalyst for this change.

with rights come responsibilities. and respect for landowners who have to maintain these places.....
.......it's called being polite.
And that's what everything comes down to. Respect and manners or the lack thereof. Treat others as you would expect them to treat you isn't a bad creed to live by!

we were telling peter gently about where chicken nuggets come from,
Depending on where they are bought that could be tricky for an adult to get their head around

You might be best asking this in the geocaching ireland forum, where I'm sure you will get lots of helpful advice.
Its already been posted there by the ever helpful Klaus23. A better link to the GCI forum is here and the actual discussion thread is here.

Try this...
Thanks for that link. I actually managed to stumble through this myself. Its working now but don't ask me how I did it
FTR I was using a Sony Ericsson Z600 and the IPAQ 3870.

As already said, Bluetooth and a Bluetooth/GPRS mobile is the way to go for true in the field internet connectivity.
Anyone got any online tutorials to guide through this process. I use an IPAQ 3870 and the setting up of an internet connection is far from easy-to-follow

It's on the 'Archive' section on the same page...look at the left edge of the page near the top...if you have any prob...send me your Email address, and I'll send the file to you....
Thanks for that. I found it and now have it running pretty well on the IPAQ. To transfer files I just save my pocket queries or other gpx files in the folder My Pocket Documents and the IPAQ automatically picks them up during an autosync.
Thanks again

I have just loaded the earlier version from the 'archive' page on the site ...that runs OK...
Brilliant! What url did you use to get that version? I find the site very difficult to navigate

I have just downloaded GPXSonar to my Ipaq...
tried to run program....get error message
Cannot find GPXSonar (or one of it's components) etc...
Looked at discussion page on that site '''found others had asked the same question...but could find no answers...
Please...anyone help...tell me what I've done wrong...
You've done nothing wrong, its the OS you're running. You need Windows Mobile 2003. I've the same problem and I'm trying to find a way around it.

Just like to point out that you can see the tracking number in that photo. Seem to remember a previous discussion about people using those to log the TB and thereby cheat
