I have seen these used with good luck.

Perfect opportunity for someone to buy a job lot and flog them on ebay to other people. Can't see one person needing 30 of those

Thiswas found by MadraRua (another Irish cacher) in "The Circle".
If you're impressed you can buy lots more Sin Cleaner Products
-
Have you actually tried it?
It really is as simple as those three steps. Even the severely computer illiterate should be able to click the link and enter those two lines of text. Give it a go
-
The stuff he was showing you was probably ok but what he would have given you would probably have been rubbish. Its a common switch technique used a lot here in Ireland by some members of a certain "mobile" community
-
Just used these instructions and it works perfectly...cheers

I've copied this post to the GeoCaching Ireland Forum where you may have a better chance at success.
This is the thread

Thanks

simple question (i hope)
how easy or hard would it be to make an english chatroom on this forum
i know there is one already but it's always just americans
would it be possible to make a UK chatroom?
Where is it? I never knew one existed

Well done Paul!
And congrats also to Kili or Buston reaching the same milestone on the same day! 200 caches in Ireland is no mean feat and requires a lot of travelling.

Go to the top of this page, and click on "members". Narrow the search down to names begining with "pete".
Cool, didn't know you could do that. Does it work with all members of GC.com or just those that use the forum? I can't remember if forum registration is a default or not.
-
Just checking on gc.com and there are;
pete_mc
pete mc
petermc
shown as registered users.
How did you do that?
-
If you find an archived cache box (container) at the archived cache location then you get the points you will have to let me know the GC number as much evidence as possible if you do this BTW to avoid conflicts.
(this is on the honour system)
If you go to a location where an archived cache was and hide a new container then no points.
Okay, fairy snuff. I misunderstood the "recue an archive cache" and "adopt a cache" ratings. Just as well I checked first eh
Sorry for the delayNo problem. Its a busy forum here
-
Bump...no reply to my query
-
15 points for rescuing an archived cache.
Does this mean that if there is an archived cache and I adopt and resurect the cache that I get the points, even if its not on your Dust-Off List?
yes wlw.....that's my cunning plan

I would recommend going for a model that can be recharged from the cradle
I totally agree. I have an IPAQ and when you set it on the cradle to do a Hotsync it automatically charges the battery. I'm not sure how long it takes to charge fully but its very quick. The battery lasts me 2-3 days easily and mine is a pretty old model.
-
Does that figure include those in Ireland or is it limited to the UK?
-
Apologies. I deleted the log and as I could still read it, I assumed that anyone logged on could also see it. It went as follows (not pleasant reading!):
You bostard! you left the light on and it phucking wasted the battery on the torch. Ari&Anu left some faeces in the tupperware box and the amigos left their homemade juice on my fingers. Up yours homie!I'm assuming its a bloke as somehow I don't see a woman doing something so stupid or childish as this (and I'm male for the record).

This idiot left this delightful log on my cache. Is there anyway GC.com can ban him to stop him doing it to others.
I've heard it is possible for the powers that be to ban specific IP addresses. Is this true?

My Muslim friend is deeply ashamed of yesterday's events.
He should not be ashamed.
As an Irishman who lived in the UK during "The Troubles" I heartily agree with this sentiment.
Only the evil perpetrators of this act should feel ashamed. Its indicative of the feelings that are being stirred up in the media over the last few years that peaceful citizens should feel morally obliged to accept the wrongs done by others that claim to be of the same faith/race/nationality.

Just to let you know that people on this side of the water are thinking of our London colleagues. Hope everyone is safe and sound and that there are no injured friends or relatives of anyone on this forum
-
Anyway, congrats to the person on 20 points for the month.
He amassed these points by: (i) visiting the cache site, and proving it was 'missing'; and (ii) visiting the location a second time, to reinstate it with new box, log and swaps at the request of the cache owner.
He deserves every single point, because the cache is 280 Km from his home (each way) - over some of the worst roads in God's creation.
Well done...
-Wlw.
You're embarassing me! I was in the nearby area both times, its a beautiful spot to visit and I enjoyed it so I'm not really the geocaching warrior you're making me out to be
-
Not signed - no find.
No excuses.
What if the log book is in a condition that it can't be signed! Happened on one of my finds. It was a micro that got soaked and the single page inside had fallen to pieces. Its STILL a find and I count it as such.
There's no such thing as NO EXCUSE! Everyone plays the game according to the GUIDElines but strictly enforcing regulations takes the fun out of everything.
Edit to say: I wouldn't count it as a find either but if I was the owner and he had emailed me to ask if he could claim it first I might have considered it

I have a Peugeot 307 and have exactly the same problem. Its something to do with the tinting in the windscreen. Your older screen may not have had it.
If you pass a Renault or Peugeot car on the road you may notice a strange purplish colour to the windscreen. Thats the tinting. It makes the driving experience more enjoyable but Geocaching a PITA!
Luckily I can wedge the GPSr in the side window and get perfect reception. An antenna is expensive so maybe a holder located next to the side window would be a bit more cost effective.
Time From Cache Placement To Publish
in United Kingdom and Ireland
Posted
On a slightly related note. How is it that there is someone new approving/publishing some of the more recent Irish caches. The name that has shown up is Tahu Nuva.
Is it a puppet account for a UK/Ireland based cacher or a temporary measure? TBH its strange enough that Ireland doesn't have an Irish approver without having someone (supposedly) based in Polynesia looking after us
