  1. I assume you mean the site? If so all is fine here for me
  2. No we should have a new sub-forum called "Where to Post When Grumpy and Should Have Gone to Bed Early"
  3. I take it from your profile you mean the logicweave stats? If so you'll need to wait for someone else that uses them (I use GSAK) to come along
  4. At the risk of sounding like a moaner is there any point in this thread when there's an almost identical one here: http://forums.Groundspeak.com/GC/index.php?showtopic=199521
  5. Is there a print option in GSAK? If so there's a handy pdf generator available free online called CutePDF Printer. I use it extensively and find it great for lots of non-cache related things. Link: http://www.cutepdf.com/Products/CutePDF/writer.asp
  6. Do you really expect to find the coins, or even a cache at the actual location? not necessarily! but in some cases, it is possible! I have heard it said that some people have used TBs in unpublished caches to get a FTF even before a cache is published so there are sometimes caches at these locations
  7. Welcome and here's hoping that the warm welcome is extended by all
  8. I have the overlay but don't have a clue how it was built. As I didn't build it I'm not prepared to release the info until the person that did gives full approval and as they haven't come forward yet I can't say who it is. We need to discuss a few other things with them anyway but this is another volunteer thing and will take a while to get sorted.
  9. The map that everyone sees here is just a screenshot of a Google Earth overlay which when downloaded to your own machine will show you exactly where your cache is. That will be available for full download once I get the website sorted but I'd like everyone to note that I'm on holidays until later this week and have no intention of doing it until near the weekend so you'll have to be patient. This happened very suddenly and we weren't aware of it coming so we've been a little caught on the hop edit to add: as already pointed out in various other threads the cache may be yours but the listing is Groundspeak's and they can do what they want with it
  10. Possibly not but I'm sure you'll see it in this Release Notes thread by Nate: http://forums.Groundspeak.com/GC/index.php?showtopic=183544
  11. IMO this is already covered in the guidelines under the "assumed permission" section. However, it seems that Dave can no longer rely on many people telling him the truth and has had to deal with complaints from one or more Churches. That's kind of sad really that people treat him and these areas with so little respect I've seen a few caches in graveyards that are totally inappropriate and others that are extremely well thought out and respectful. I wonder which ones have permission?
  12. That's a known bug (you can't ignore Wherigo caches at all!) and is being worked on so no need to report it again. Good you worked out what the problem was though
  13. You couldn't have travelled very far then! Most of my caches have been found outside of graveyards although there are a lot in urban areas.
  14. What options do you get when you search from the "new search" page from the initial results page? Is ignored caches one of them?
  15. Perth Pathfinders/Skate and Jane....you're leaving yourselves wide open to viruses in incoming emails. If you use the instructions in the link Birdman supplied then you should be able to fix the problem and still stay protected. Must be about time now for SteamTraen to come along and tell us that we're wasting our time worrying about viruses anyway
  16. Remember that there are now two versions of AVG Free out there....V7 and V8. It may not affect both?
  17. Been getting that too.....even on Review pages
  18. Let me get the gist of this.....you're complaining because a company want to charge you for repairing a unit that isn't faulty but has a fault that you admit is due to the way you use it  Every company I've ever dealt with has had a variety of good and bad customer service but I've never come across a company where the bias towards good service has ever been so good! I agree that emailing any of the contacts on this forum is now a waste of time. They've probably stopped even looking at them as they've become so well known! Phoning is the only way to go. One tip. Make sure you get a reference number and a name. One time I rang and didn't get them and didn't get follow-up so had to ring again. When I did get them (from a very good guy called Phil) I got fantastic service and very efficient.
  19. Thanks for all the suggestions Some of them I already have (water bladder, Swiss Army knife, etc) and some of the others are pretty interesting. I'm leaning towards a Blackberry, anyone here have any experience of one? and not just for caching
  20. My birthday's coming soon so I'm on the look out for a little "spoil me" present. Being a bit of a gadget freak I already have quite a few bits and pieces so I'm on here looking for someone to recommend something I won't think of myself. My budget is €100-150 or £80-£120 To avoid wasting ideas this is what I already have: Dell Axim PPC BT GPSr 76CSx GPSr Nokia E50 mobile Nuvi Sat Nav Nikon Coolpix DigiCam So, anything I'm missing? Also open to suggestions for outdoor gear in the same price bracket but I do already have a great pair of boots and cross trainers
  21. I can't get that site to work and really like the look of that macro. Is there a reason it's not hosted at GSAK like most other macros? Any way you could email me a copy or provide a different download option?
  22. The guidelines state: For all caches that include multiple waypoints please report all the additional coordinates using the "Additional Waypoints" feature. If you don't want a set of coordinates displayed on your cache page, be sure to mark them as "hidden". Doing this will hide the coordinates from view by anyone except the owner and website volunteers. Shown here underneath: Guidelines that Apply to all Cache Types. I often comment in my logs if the coords on newer caches are just in the text and not entered as an AW. If people do not want to enter additional coords thats upto them but if they do, I wish they would enter them as AW's. Please My emphasis above. That section is a request and not a demand when listing a cache. If an owner refuses despite my own personal wishes the cache will be listed without AWs unless they are physical containers. As I said above the Final Location must be listed prior to publication but most cachers will never see that AW.
  23. It would seem not from a cache I attempted last week : GC1CGE2 Had there been then the reviewer might have been able to flag that the final coordinates were in the sea (Depending on whether the owner had input the correct final coordinates or the ones which the formula resulted it.) I did find it strange that it was published without AWs as I thought they were compulsory for multi's & puzzles. All I'll say is that you shouldn't have that problem if you come to Ireland and try a cache published since September Seriously, looks like the cache owner is on top of the error anyway so maybe you might get another chance some time. As a note the way that owner has done things is fine. The multi stages are all in the cache text. It's not compulsory to have them as visible AWs and not even as hidden ones if they are virtual stages. It's only the Final Location and any physical stage containers that are required by reviewers. The owner can keep these hidden from other cachers though
  24. It's compulsory to have AWs for stages of a Multi-cache (virtual stages and physical containers) and or stages in a Puzzle/Mystery cache. The most important of all is the Final Location which is more than likely hidden to all but the owner and the reviewer. Parking coordinates (while a very good idea and very useful) are not compulsory. As an aside if there are coordinates in the cache description but not there as AWs then GSAK has a facility to harvest them from the cache description.. I can't remember exactly how to do it now but it's an option in the main menu.
