  1. Not sure but I think it's the amount of imternal memory and maps that varies. The RX5935 has TomTom Europe on the 2G internal. You still have the SD slot to play with. I run MM, cachemate and TomTom. Download these too. MMSirfStar for StaticNavigation, allows walking pace. HouMing FileDialogChanger; allows WM5 to file anywhere. to send cachemate to TomTom.
  2. Maybe the questions could/should be asked of the cache SETTER when PRESENTING the cache instead of afterwards.....
  3. FYI For caching you need to turn on Static Navigation (SN), older versions of MM had a Sirf chip option, latest doesn't. There's a MM executable somewhere that turns it on, and probably a thread discussing it.... PS I have a LOOX N500 for sale £40.....
  4. Since upgrading from an old blue Garmin Legend, I thought SiRF III was cheating.
  5. Software included Cachemate, MM Navigator license, TomTom and another satnav which you probably wont use This allows for paperless caching as it has an in-built GPS... Also comes with leather case, box and instructons, CD's etc.... PM me as I may miss your log... PS P&P not included....
  6. Ran a PDA next to a Garmin for a long while, but wasn't a Premium Member so there was alot of faffing... Became a Member and bought cachemate for the PDA and still used the Garmin; much more enjoyable. Upgraded to a PDA with GPS, but without SN turned off cachemate was if little use and the Garmin was still in use. I then bought MemoryMap which then links to cachmate. The Garmin was sold.... Have recently been using GCz, which is now my fave app. So to summarise... I use MemoryMap if I don't know where I'm going and link with cachemate for info. If I know where I'm going I use GCz. GCz is also great for getting nearby caches from a Hotspot/phone when no GPX is available. PS New version 0.2.34.7 of GCz out today.
  7. Have just tried this, looks great. I uploaded my GPX into it okay and can see all the details, but then it'll insist on going to the Internet for details ?!? Any expert Users around ? I'm now an expert, load the latest version.

  9. This is MY favourite log. It's mine tho' is that allowed.
  10. I presume the cache page is theirs and there's nothing to stop a similar box being placed next to the original. I see the need for new caches to keep the locals happy, but there is also a place for long-term caches with hundreds/thousands of finds. I'll try again.... What is to stop Groundspeak allowing the adoption of the cache PAGE and the physical cache being replaced with another. If a cache is maintained by the Community can it remain active ? Do Groundspeak only get involved when asked to or is the activity pro-active ?

  12. I put mine in for Review at the weekend, not had a reply yet.... Hope it's ready for the Bank Holiday..
  13. Found while Googling, did a GC search and found nothing so thought I'd link it here. FastFoot
  14. I run a PDA with MemoryMap Navigator, TomTom and CacheMate. I can receive the GC email through Outlook and extract the GPX file into Cachemate. Cachemate talks to TomTom and MemoryMap talks to Cachemate. All is fine and dandy. BUT Is there any way that I can create a new overlay (mmo) for MemoryMap using just the PDA ? i.e. WITHOUT having to go back to the PC installation and sending the data....
  15. There are plenty of containers which once had food (or other contents) in which are perfectly useable. Soup jars, biscuit boxes, film canisters etc.... Recycle, recycle, it's ecological and cheaper too. You often end up buying food you wouldn't normally try, just for the box. PS I don't use glass tho'
  16. A file was probably locked on the card when it was removed. Do a soft reset will no card entered and try again. My old PDA had two slots I used to get very confused.
  17. I tried unArchiving a cache in France, I was told there was a 6 month time limit on doing this...
  18. Aaah, if that's the one, I've been
  19. I'm going to London tomoz and want to make sure I don't go to that 16th Century Pub that used to have the meets in. Can someone tell me the area to avoid....
  20. Find a page you like in IE and in the MenuBar pick View-Source, and copy the code....
  21. IIRC it used to be $8, now it's $10 Worth it tho'
