  1. Hee haw hee haw <with hint of nasal accent!> Isn't that the noise a donkey makes
  2. I agree and add the mission sheet if not attached. Again, I agree totally and did the same while on holiday last year (in France)
  3. No log = No find. Cache says 'in 35mm film canister' accompanied by generic picture of you with film canister. Where do you draw the line, I visited a cache that was archived hours before. Could I have taken a pic of the location, think not. PS It wasn't Old Father Thames was it ? I had the same problem..
  4. Was the mission attached to the TB, many(most) cachers just move them on for the numbers and probably don't even look at the Internet page....
  5. I got one of these Cable link I got two very short cables that link together via a 3.5mm connector. Don't know about hte USB bit but RX1710 is in the drop-down. There's a powered version too.
  6. except when they get to you looking at fire hydrants or 'count the benches', this just seems a bit anoraky/lazy. If you have to resort to these tactics, maybe it 's not worth a cache....
  7. I've swapped emails with Dragontree a couple of times now, weird happenings at one cache, couldn't find another and then a FTF.... And for the 1st time I used the "...other caches hidden or found by this user" buttons. then it occured to me, was I turning into a GEO groupie ? Following on from this, could we have groupie icons on our homepage to show you've either :- found all of someone's caches or someone has found all your caches...
  8. My alter-ego saiben (holidays only) has 9 within 25 miles, I've found 7 of them. Is this a record of any type, least and/or highest % found
  9. I thought the whole point of TB's was to complete a mission. But the majority of TB's don't even have their mission attached. This leads to TB's just jumping from cache to cache, which seems a little pointless. And some cachers even log TB's in-and-out of caches, "JUST TO GET THE MILES UP". This seems rather selfish considering the owner has paid good money for the TB and stipulated a mission. Or go to Cache Bashes and write down all the TB numbers they can, just to get their numbers up!!!! So to recap, what is TB etiquette ? Should the mission be attached to the TB ? Should TB's be hogged by cachers ? Should TB's be moved just for the hell of it or left for someone who can actulally help the TB on it's way?
  10. Surely if the TB's had had their mission attached to them it would of lessened the chance of them going astray.
  11. I'd like to try and draw up a sort of Geocaching Family Tree, from who got who involved and possibly when. To start it off Simply Paul hooked me in with his Countryfile appearance in Jan/Feb '05 From memory Simply Paul blames Dan & Pid. All info gratefully recieved.
  12. A Palm is to a PPC, as a Mac is to a PC. Stand back and watch the fireworks.
  13. High point: Getting 100 caches High point: Some-one noticing Hehe AND High point: 1st FTF Twitch Way
  14. I/We have a place in the Pyrennees which we visit at least 3 times a year, does that mean I can do a cache there. Or is this a holiday cache and not allowed ?
  15. Found this info Link which has it on, am investigating. This one works with my IpaQ dotPocket , but it messes other packages around, namely TomTom PS Just tried nyditot on an IpaQ 3600 and required a HARD reset
  16. Have had a fiddle. It seems to support landscape but cannot make the screen landscape. Cheers anyway
  17. My trusty IpaQ is great but the screens round the wrong way. Anybody know of an Internet Browser that can switch to landscape mode. I think the PC2003 OS can do it but I'm on PC2002.

  19. Laminated money, isn't defacing currency treason...
  20. How do you know which ones are nearest to you ?
  21. Old Father Thames This isn't the greatest cache in the world, but it's in such a public place it's a great laugh. If you're in the area it'll only take 5 minutes.
  22. I don't see the problem holiday caches. Around the Pyrennees, a high percentage of caches are holiday caches. There are some caches that aren't well maintained local to me (Bucks) but they aren't archived. There are always other cachers willing to check little used caches as proven by the Dust-Off list. I think the Frapper list also highlights the ability of the caching scene to maintain itself. PS I haven't actually placed any caches, hope I'm not being hypocritical.
  23. The 1st set of numbers are in decimal and the 2nd in degrees/minutes/seconds. So the 1st one is 53 degrees plus .33986 of an hour (sic) about 20 minutes and 01 degrees plus .77713 of an hour (sic) about 46 minutes. Does that make sense
  24. Did you install the software on a separate memory card or the default location. If not then the message is quite clear, insufficient memory. Maybe read Moote's help doc.
