As it was my idea, I should say that I am keen. Need to set a date so Bernadette can arrange time off work if required (she works 2 weekends out of the month)
I have sent a email to "The Mechanic" to see how much space there is at the summit, but I have not heard back from him... will keep you posted.

Phone or fire off an email to SI Components - just because it is not listed does not mean that they can't get it - went out of their way to track down a supplier for Sun 13W3 monitor connectors for me for a project I was working on (except I did not need 500 (minimum order)) - great guys to deal with, I highly recommend them.

If you can't find anyone in NZ who sells them DigiKey sell them on-line and they will ship internationally ($4.45US for one battery+shipping)

I have some more information from Warren at ENL:
1) The maps will be available on both SD card and CD (the SD card will be writable so you can store WP/Tracks as well)
2) There will be maps for both sea (for boats - available end of year) and land (streets and topos - still in development 6-8 months away
)3) Price has not been yet been fixed

I really hope you do get this project 'on the shelf' as it sounds like it would be the greatest thing to happen to geocaching since the removal of SA (and a wake up call for the other GPSr manufacturers as to what users want in a GPSr)
Of course being a New Zealander I would love to see it being built here (but sorry, I am not in the GPS industry here, but we do have a couple of cachers who work for one of the manufacturers (though probably not the one you were going to use, if you were going to use an existing GPSr maker))

Why can I now not view cache pages when I use Lynx as my browser? Travel Bug pages are OK, but I get a 'Location URL is not absolute' when I try and get a 'Nearest Cache' page. I am sure I used to be able to use Lynx...
