  1. Good grief. Gunshot wounds? That cache must have been on private property

He kept his dagger at hand and his blunderbuss loaded, And put those he mistrusted to the plank or the lash, And kept the map to his treasure all ascii encoded, So that none would plunder his personal cache. Truly...a thing of beauty.
  3. No kidding! We're talking full-up, living in mom's basement and never having a girlfriend! Be careful there Privateers, Your signature line is written in binary. (Insert smiley here.) I am guilty of throwing stones from my glass house at someone else's

  5. I don't think this guy is a collector. He has some pretty impresive numbers. It's entirely possible that he just has a life And hasn't had a chance to spend time on hobbies recently.
  6. Replace the cooler with something else. Seems easier than drilling and stuff.
  7. We drop replica shipwreck Spanish 'Pieces of Eight' as pirate coins. They're great for us, as they reflect our team motife, they are different, and they are cheap.
  8. All good points. After I posted, I ran accross This Thread. From it, I got a much better feel for what 'long' is. The dude that has my bugs is an avid cacher...some 2000 finds. So, I'm not worried that he wont drop the bugs...I was just getting a little impatient, and I shouldn't do that. I can asure you, however, that my e-mail was DRIPPING with sugar and tact.
  9. Absolutely. OP seams to get knickers in a twist more often than not. Take it easy....have a little fun.
  10. Two of my TBs have been in the hands of the same dude for over a month. I e-mailed him, and asked very politely if everything was okay, to which he replied that everything was fine, but that he hadn't gone caching in over a month. That was a week ago. I'm glad that he picked them up, but it seems to me that one shouldn't be grabbing TBs if one is going to be disengaged from caching for a long time. What should I do? I don't want to make a huge deal out of it...but I kinda feel like he's being a little rude by not dumping them off somewhere.
  11. NO, I don't name my unit...I leave that to the ladies.

  13. Interesting, We just bought land in western Washington...so that we can get out of this desert. It's 105 today at noon...it was 109 yesterday. ugh
  14. My first cache. I was riding my mt. bike along a single-track trail while holding my GPSr in one hand and trying to steere with the other. I was riding with my clips not engaged on purpose, since I new I might have stop suddenly. (you really need both hands on the handlebars...I'm dumb) Well, as I went through a little draw, I intended to get off my bike as I started up the hill on the other side...but as I stood up...'CLICK' my left shoe clicked into my clips...just as the bike stopped rolling. Long story short...I, and the bike, rolled backward down the hill..knocked my buddy off his bike and into the bushes. I actually felt...butt, backpack, head, face, knees hit the ground in that order. The bike was messed up. My front sprocket embedded itself into my calf causing what looked surprisingly like a shark bite. My buddy was bleeding from a couple of places. But the GPS was ok. We found the cache...limping.
  15. I can't stand reading posts like this in while sitting in cubeville. Makes me want to be at work even less than before! Life does not get any better than that.
  16. No kidding! We're talking full-up, living in mom's basement and never having a girlfriend!
  17. I've found that pretty much everything I do outside of my house is compatible with geocaching. This weekend, my wife and I participated in a 24 hr bike race....but we found time to grab a cache. I work it into: Camping Hiking Biking Rockhounding Astronomy (I take my scope to dark sky sites....near caches) Road Trips Air trips Driving to work Driving home from work Lunch Break at work Whatever the hobbie, GCing can add something to it. --Chino
  18. Nope that won't work either. Then you have to worry about scorching the treetops. Dont' even get me started about the emissions. With all of us cachers we'll deplete the O-Zone in no time. Don't worry about emissions. My jetpack will operate on methane from Cow fodder.
  19. This is what I was thinking after reading some of the posts. Some seem to feel humans don't have any right to enjoy our natural resources. I only wish I could kill the weeds in my lawn by walking on them. It never seems to work. Quite frankly I'm more concerned about our overuse of asphalt than making a small trail that will overgrow after a short time. Some of you must be really angry with Mt. St. Helens. Stuff happens. The Earth adapts better than we can fathom. Wait, I have it. Jetpacks for all cachers. No more trails to follow. Mike Jet packs would roast, to a golden brown, the small area around the cache when you launch. We're at 90 posts here just talking about some lightly squashed crab grass...can you imagine what would happen in these threads over a cache facilitated launch pad?
  20. See!!? Those damm micros are not to be trusted! A micro once lured me to sqwat down on a prickly pair cactus. I signed it's log all scribbly to get even.
  21. OMG I have cursed my own soul for doing that on more than one occasion! I hike, well bushwhacked, 1200 vertical feet up a mountain in the desert heat, just to find out that there was a road that came up the hill from THE OTHER side.
  22. Ban it all! Let's just set at home, with mittens on our hands.
  23. Athens in 80-81? Hmmmm...what brought you there?
  24. Exactly, If I ever made a virtual I would make sure to ask something that you couldnt find just surfing the internet, although I dont believe that I will be making a virtual anytime soon due to the Guidelines. If I ever make a virtual cache, it will be becuase cheaperthandirt.com is out of ammo cans, and no one makes them anymore.
