  1. Seattle Parks wants your opinion.

    • Are Parks resources deployed in the most effective manner?
    • Which facilities and parks get the most use?
    • What are the core services Parks provides?

    One question goes like this:

There are many types of recreation programs that are becoming more popular across the country, like bike polo and obstacle course challenges with ropes and walls. Is there any recreation activity that you or your household would be interested in participating in, or that you've heard about recently? Be creative!

Hm .... bad_boy_animated.gif I wonder if there is any recreation activity that you or your household would be interested doing more at Seattle Parks ...

Take the online survey now through September 24, 2012.

  3. I wonder if you might have more responses if I moved this to a spot that is seen by more people from Western PA or Eastern Ohio .... I'll move this to the Mid-Atlantic forum now.

    Good luck!

  4. Ambrosia, The cache should always be in an interesting spot, right?

"When you go to hide a geocache, think of the reason you are bringing people to that spot. If the only reason is for the geocache, then find a better spot." – briansnat

The design moves around depending on the size of shirt you purchase.

  5. The 10th Annual Cache In Trash Out Weekend is scheduled for April 21st and 22nd, 2012.

Geocachers around the world celebrate International Cache In Trash Out weekend annually by hosting and participating in CITO Events in their local area. Events might be focused on:

    1. litter clean-up
    2. removal of invasive species
    3. revegetation efforts
    4. building trails

Did we mention that we also have a bit of fun while we're at it?

    Event Planning Resources

To add your own CITO Event(s) to the schedule: use our online form and specify your cache type as a Cache In Trash Out Event. Events can be posted up to three months in advance. Make sure to include all of the important event information so that attendees know where to meet, what to bring and what resources will be available.

  6. Only once I arrived here I found that I didn't [p]ack my little GPS.

    -Audiopudding

Oh, that is too bad. Sorry, dude.

Have you tried emailing the local cache owners/cache finders?

I am moving this thread from the Geocaching Topics forum to the Asia forum.

I protest! There are too many natives here with Spanish and Mayan descent to be considered Asian, and they are in the South Pacific!!

Funny, right? I'm from the Philippines so I understand what you mean.

The continent containing the Philippines is called Asia. That's why I called this forum "Asia" when I created it. :)

Good luck with finding a GPS!

  7. From the Weekly Mailer:

Give the Gift of Geocaching Premium

What better gift to give the geocacher in your life than more time to go geocaching? Geocaching Premium provides advanced features and functionality that streamline the geocaching adventure so your favorite geocacher (or geocacher-to-be) can spend less time at the computer and more time outside searching for geocaches. Groundspeak Gift Memberships provide the recipient with 12 months of Geocaching Premium access. The gift can be used to upgrade a Basic Member or to extend an existing Premium Membership by a year. And Geocaching Premium Membership is one gift they won't have to wait for, since Groundspeak Gift Memberships are immediately credited to users' accounts.

If you want to upgrade someone to Geocaching Premium, but prefer to have something physical for them to unwrap, check out the Premium Membership Gift Card, which can be purchased through Shop Geocaching or through selected International Retailers.

With all the time your special geocacher will save with Geocaching Premium, they might just have enough time to give you the gift of Premium Membership.

  8. And not to be a nitpicker, but the guy who was the subject of the bump has 0 finds and zero hides. Unless he's like one of those GeoBain type guys that doesn't log on the website.

Ken Jennings actually does cache, under a different username. I know that username and decided not to share it because he likely created it for his privacy.
