    http://www.bestoftheroad.com

To nominate your town: Type it's name into the big box near the top of the page that says Find Your Town.

To see who has been nominated: Click on the "Best For Geocaching" tab.

Vote now. And vote regularly - as often as once a day.

Also, spread the word. Encourage your friends, family and neighbors to vote to get their favorite towns on the map. Rally the troops – your fellow citizens, elected officials, visitor centers, and social networks – encourage them to let us know why your pick should be on the map.

  6. Some tips from http://www.geocachin...m/cito/faq.aspx

How do I get people to help me?

It is important to actively promote your Cache In Trash Out event. Here are a few suggestions for generating community excitement and involvement:

    • Post a CITO event page at www.geocaching.com/seek.
    • Post a note in Groundspeak's regional forums announcing your plans.
    • Post a note in your local geocaching organization's forums.
    • Contact your local media outlets (news, print, web sites, community notices) to encourage more involvement and increase public awareness. Be sure to provide the media with the URL for your event and www.geocaching.com/cito.
    • Ask local businesses to donate either supplies for the work, or prizes to encourage more participation.
    • Place links to your event in all your cache pages. Don't forget to remove the links once the CITO event is over!
    • Mention the CITO event in your cache logs, and point people to the source of more information.
    • Make CITO merchandise available at your event. There are trash bags and other items available at http://shop.geocaching.com/default/gear/cito

    CITO-2013-199x300.png

Geocachers search parks, trails and forests to earn a smiley, but during a Cache In Trash Out (CITO) event they're not looking for geocaches. They're clearing litter and trash from geocaching-friendly areas around the world. Thousands of geocachers will walk away from their CITO events with bags of trash and a sense of pride. They're preserving the natural beauty of our world. It's often more than litter clean up. Some CITO events remove of invasive species, plant trees or build trails.

You can be a part of the movement. CITO events are held all year long, but you'll have more than 140 to choose from on April 20, 21 and 22. It's the 11th annual International CITO Weekend coinciding with Earth Day.

This year, more than a thousand geocachers from at least 30 countries are combining in the annual worldwide environmental effort. The locations range from Croatia to Hong Kong and include more than 40 U.S. States.

and log your "Will Attend" for a CITO event near you. For a limited time, Shop Geocaching will include a free CITO trash bag in each order (U.S. orders, while supplies last).

  8. Miss Jenn, are the caches going to be listed here on GC.com??

I'm not Miss Jenn (easily distinguished from me by her effusive charm and dazzling appearance), but I can tell you that the caches will be published in the regular way here on Tuesday, April 2nd.

The one that I reviewed will make for a very nice hike in a State Forest. :)

Keystone, you are right! (about the caches anyway)

  9. Thing Sites GeoTour

This is the first European GeoTour and our first ever trans-national GeoTour. It goes across Scotland, Iceland, Norway, the Faroe Islands and the Isle of Man. This GeoTour went live in early November 2012.

Things, from the Old Norse "þing," are historic assembly sites found throughout northern Europe as a result of our shared Norse heritage. Follow in the footsteps of the Vikings and explore the landscapes and traditions which surround these fascinating sites.

Other GeoTours are listed at our growing Global Directory: http://www.geocaching.com/geotours
