I've got the power to move an entire state!
Based on this poll's overwhelming results, I just moved Iowa's location in the forum hierarchy. It was in the Great Plains area, and now it is in the Midwest area.
Please change your relevant bookmarks and habits as needed. Please report any new threads that were accidentally placed in the wrong forum so that the moderator can make adjustments.
I will move the pinned thread about Iowaadmin's blog to the Midwest. Many older threads about Iowa will remain in the Great Plains forum, regrettably.

With 70.27% of the vote:
Move the Iowa forum from Great Plains to the Midwest.
What a surprising result.

So what's this all about then, are Groundspeak relocating to Oxford ?
We first need to get better with the local language!

So far, 70.37% of the respondents think we should move the Iowa forum from Great Plains to the Midwest.
18.52% said to keep the Iowa forum in the same place: Great Plains.
11.11% do not have strong feelings.
Not so many people have voted.
We'll see what this looks like in mid September.

Cache In Trash Out is an ongoing environmental initiative supported by the worldwide geocaching community. Since 2002, geocachers have been dedicated to cleaning up parks and other cache-friendly places around the world. Through these volunteer efforts, we help preserve the natural beauty of our outdoor resources.

Glad to see some replies and discussion. Let's keep this poll open for a month. I'll take a look again on September 18, 2010. Cool?

Currently, the Great Plains forum section is described as:
It has been suggested that Iowa properly belongs in the Midwest rather than in the Great Plains. What are your thoughts as to the organization of this forum section?Geocaching in Iowa, Kansas, Nebraska, North Dakota, Oklahoma, and South Dakota. -
I've also moved the early Waymarking conversations into the read-only archives.

Honest question though. If people post questions/issues here that would have been better addressed in the feedback forum, can a Mod move it or should that person be directed to open a thread there?
There is no functionality to move a post from here to there. It should be manually re-submitted by the author.
If you are logged into geocaching.com and then click the Feedback tab, your login credentials transfer over.

You may have noticed some changes in our forum subsections as of today.
Earlier, Jeremy announced that we would be moving towards more use of Get Satisfaction. This is the site you can access by using the Feedback tab on every page of geocaching.com . The move has now happened. The following subsections are now part of the read-only archives which you can find by scrolling down to that part of the main forum index.
- Geocaching.com Web Site
- Geocaching for iPhone
- Geocaching for Android
They will join the illustrious HamsterCaching subsection.
Thanks!

Does Iowa want that?Do you think we can get Iowa moved from the Great Plains to the Midwest forum? -
Best wishes to geohatter. I suppose now we'll have to stop the practice of using rhyming slang to hide our meaning from our friends across the ocean.

The brown shirt has been discontinued.

It's not a bug. That means the Geo Man decal is currently out of stock.Seems to be a bug on the store page. There is no Geo Man decal available, only all the other ones. -
mtn-man and I would like to introduce and welcome the geohatter who today just became the newest addition to the Moderating Team. Please join us in extending a friendly welcome to someone who has had quite a lot of experience in these waters and has chosen to moderate under a fresh new account.

Q: Can I publish cache whitch is published on opencaching or not?
Yes. If you choose, you can certainly submit a cache to be published on geocaching.com which is also listed at another website. You should not mention the other website.
