Recommendation....
When users create accounts, it's great that you send them a "welcome" email. However, please do ***NOT*** put their password in plaintext emails!
Thanks
Great recommendation, Redfist!

As always, this community is generous with its resources. I have gotten a couple of replies via email. Thanks!
We will investigate and see where the leads go.

Groundspeak is looking to get a small bit of work done: transcription, proofreading and closed captioning/subtitling of some video.
Do you know anyone located in the Seattle area who is a Czech-speaking geocacher?
Ditto for a local German-speaking geocacher.
If you have some info about this, please either post a response below or send me an email via my Profile page.
Thanks for the attention!

All better. It was a simple issue of storage options.
Thanks for your patience.

Additional info was also sent out via the Weekly Mailer. Here is some of that text:
Website Downtime Wednesday, May 4... You may or may not be aware that Groundspeak's servers are powered by hamsters.* We are adding several additional hamsters to the mix**, which should fix website service issues. Groundspeak products will go offline around 9 am Pacific Daylight Time (UTC/GMT -7 hours). We are not sure how long it will take to complete the upgrade; we estimate 4 to 6 hours, but it may be more or less. We will be providing updates on the 4th via Facebook and Twitter. When the Groundspeak products come back online, Geocaching.com will have an updated look and the website performance will be improved.
*Our servers are not powered by hamsters
**Upgrading our database server

Taylor Park CITO: GGC2G8A3
(in Duvall, Washington - about one hour outside of Seattle)
Early in the event, the gang found an abandoned homeless encampment. They wrapped it all up in the very large sheet of plastic and you see it here on the bottom right:
The pile got bigger:
The pile kept getting bigger STILL:
These women dragged the hood of a truck out of the forest:
Thank you for all the support! (larger image)

Hello Art-Per,
I think this is VERY interesting!
I will move your thread to the UK subsection of our forums so that more people who live closer to your location will see it. A link to your original thread will remain in the Cache In Trash Out forum.
-
This is VERY exciting!
Calvertcachers, you continue to make great strides in reconnecting geocachers with the National Park Service. Thank you and Groundspeak will continue to help and support you.

My past experience in working with Pennsylvania State Parks has been very good, however they now are charging $25 for a permit to place a cache for three years. I've not placed any caches in state parks since the fees went into effect.
Yeah, I heard about that. Ouchy.
Glad I was able to play (i.e. hide caches) there before the $25 fee came along.

I wonder if it would be possible to have Groundspeak add a section to the Guidelines for park policies that lists policies for different areas?
Actually, there is something in the works with regard to this. It is and always will be a work in progress, but some ideas are working to bring this together into one consolidated area.
Your best option is to contact your local reviewer at this time if you have any questions. Right now I have two areas that are in flux and are a bit muddy, so like I say it will always be a work in progress.
Indeed! Thanks, mtn-man.
When we are ready, it will simply appear as one of the books listed here in our collection of Knowledge Books:
