  1. Looking through the logs of the cache listing, there are several cachers that made several trips to find it and it went missing back in March. This cache may be a bit harder than it's rating. You could do a couple of things. Try doing a few other caches until you get used to the GPS and the search. Add it to your watch list and wait until someone else finds it so you know it's there. E-mail the owner or the previous finder for a hint (that spoils the hunt, but it is an option) Keep trying - I have one that I've visited 8 times and still haven't found..... Good luck!

    Pqs

Turn around time usually runs 5-10 minutes doing it this way and you have the very latest updates.
  3. Nothing to report, everything's fine.
  4. Foreign coins are nice to find and often easy to come by. Ask anyone that has been over seas recently and they may have a pocketful of change to give you.
  5. Blame it on urban micros Drive up, grab and go.
  6. What StarBrand said. Why wouldn't you? If I'm taking the time to find the cache (even a second time) I'm going to take the time to log it. Too many DNF's on a cache are annoying but a few that are spaced well enough apart can certainly give the people that have found it a chuckle...at least on the harder caches.
  7. Google Earth will take either one. Now if we could just the the guys at Google to design a GPS
  8. As a premium member you can run pocket queries. One of the search options is based on container size. If you go to "My Account" where it lists your cache finds, you'll see a link called "Run Pocket Queries"
  9. ????? What......... I don't get to keep them ????????
  10. This isn't the advice you asked for but it may help. Start with the 1/1's (difficulty/terrain). Look for caches that have been found recently and stay away from micros. This should improve your odds of finding the cache. It won't take long until you develop ye ol' geosense and can confidently move on to the harder ones.
  11. Remember, people like to see their bugs travel and like to have people visit their cache. Writing in the log and logging on line are for the benefit of other people so log away.
  12. People with high find counts would tend to have low averages for terrain and difficulty, just because there are so many more of them.
  13. Doing the cache just before the sun comes makes it a lot easier to find your way back out.
  14. If you like Google Maps, try Google Earth . Of course you have to download the program............
  15. You can also get an aerial map by using the coordinates as search criteria in Google Maps Google Earth gives you better resolution but you have to download the program.
  16. I use Spybot and rarely have a problem. (plus a firewall and antivirus and ad blocking software)
  17. Based on the way they prioritize pocket queries, running them every day or once a week will put them at the end of the queue. I find it quicker and more useful to run them just a few minutes before I plan on using them. Turn around time is usually under five minutes.
  18. 10 bronze 2 silver (since that's the limit). I would like to see the final cost and design before confirming the order. Thanks,
  19. Once you get the basics down you'll find it very easy to use.
  20. If you haven’t taken a look at GSAK (Geocaching Swiss Army Knife) you may want to do so. As you are a premium member you can run pocket queries and load them into GSAK. GSAK lets you sort in many different ways, and direction is one of those ways.
