  1. Hi there

I am sure i have done this in the past but have just got back into puzzle caches after a long break and need a little bit of help please.

I have solved a series of puzzle caches, 360 in total and have the solved coords on an excel file.  Is there a way i can load these onto GSAK in one go rather than individually, so i can then download them onto my etrex?

    Thanks for any help.

  2. Thanks for the ding

Where in the British isles is the Marisco Tavern

That i believe is on the Isle of Lundy, even though i have never been there, i used to live in North Devon, so spent a lot of time looking at it [:)]

That is a Ding for you.

I worked in the Tavern in 2001/2 I know it well.

Cool, I'll keep it on the Marisco theme and ask which town, which can see Lundy has a nightclub called Mariscos?

  3. Hi

I was just wondering if anyone had found a good cache route in the Devon/Cornwall/Somerset region that can be done by bike, or if there is anyway i can find out either through pocket query or other means of finding out about routes. We live in East Devon and have done what can be done by bike using local knowledge, but we really dont mind travelling for a good cycle cache.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, especially with a degree of difficulty involved, say scale 1 easy to 5 hard.

    Thanks very muchly [:)]

  4. Sticking with the late Leonard Rossiter:

In his last TV role he played a London Supermarket manager. What was the character's name?

(For a non-counting bonus could you name the star who took over the series lead after Rossiter's death!)

Something like Tripper or Trapper and i havent a clue on the bonus

Let's keep it rolling - good enough shout for me!!

Norman Tripper in "Tripper's Day" - 2 years after Rossiter's death the series came back with Bruce Forsyth as Cecil Slinger in "Slinger's Day"

    Ding and over to you.............................

OK will stay on the track of Sitcoms by asking you all to name Frank and Betty Spencers daughter?

  5. I've downloaded 4 Geocaches to my GPS 4 in total and when I power back on my GPS and check my Geoaches only 2 are shown why is this?

I had this trouble with my Etrex 20 once. I found that if i re-inserted the USB lead and turn it on, then the "missing" came back. The only explanation i thought of was taking out the lead incorrectly rather than doing the "safely remove hardware" icon.

  6. Yes it is. It started in 1909 after 'our very bad showing' in the 1908 games' Marathon, which set the distance at 26 miles 385 yards, thanks to its course from Windsor Castle to White City Stadium, where it ended in front of the Royal Box. Before this Marathons were any long run around 25 miles/40Km. The 1908 distance was adopted as the international standard for marathons in 1924, although the older Boston Marathon (est. 1897) continued to be various lengths. Over the years the London (area) Marathon I'm looking for moved around a bit and in its last few decades changed organisation and skipped years as it fell out of favour.

Edited from Wikipedia: "From 1993 to 1995 [ian Ridpath] was Race Director of the _______ Marathon from Windsor to Chiswick, Britain’s oldest marathon race which traced its origins back to the 1908 Olympic Marathon. In that role, he was involved in a public controversy over the ownership of the Sporting Life marathon trophy, originally awarded to winners of the ________ Marathon, which was claimed in 1994 by the London Marathon. The ________ Marathon was last held in 1996."

Just fill in those blanks, without using the Internet to research the answer. The answer's a cracker! :)

After talking to someone last night, i think i have it, it's the Poly Marathon or Polytechnic Marathon
