  1. I don't get it. Must be the "New Math". As my MPG goes down the MP$ also goes down. Seems I need a 1 MPG vehicle to replace my 10 MPG 454 Suburban.
  2. The "Totally Tubular" series in Seattle by Dayspring take PVC pipe cache engineering to entirely new levels. They are highly inventive, creative and sometimes quite baffling. ("How'd he do/think of that?") Totally Tubular! Totally tubular II Totally Tubular III Totally Tubular IV (2) Totally Tubular V Totally Tubular VI Totally Tubular VII My multicache DEAD DOLL DITCH has a WPT that requires the use of water. It also requires you to "Play the Sax" to get the cache to float. I would not recommend a film can for any cache you are going to put water into. I used a Camo Micro Cache Capsule as the regular "Scuba" style caches don't float. Have fun!!!!!!
  3. 50 caches at- 3.1 miles 50 caches filtered- 4.4 miles 200 caches 6.4 miles 4161 caches at 50 miles (A bit overwhelming when I think about it.)
  4. I have 2 distinctly different "Quality" (IMHO) multi-caches. Dead Doll Ditch Which is a straight forward 5 WPT multi. And Pocket Park Pool Parlor Which can lead you rapidly astray. (Up to 11 WPT's if you seriously misstep) As noted in the cache ratings and description you should have a good idea what you are getting into before you tackle these. (Both are 3.5 Diff and 3-3.5 terrain.) Based on the history of both of the above caches and the known number of active cachers in the area. There are many who choose to not seek out more difficult caches and thats ok. It's what the rating system is all about. Nellie does Green Lake Is legendary in the area and one of those "Right of Passage" caches in the are. (Hmm I think I just figured out what I'm doing for #500 Cool!!!) I think you can put out pretty much what you want as long as it is appropriately rated and the cache description is specific enough that a reasonable person can make an informed decision as to whether they wish to tackle the cache or not.
  5. You will not go wrong doing any of ohjoy's caches.
  6. I bought a 76CSx on that E-place for $450.00 the 1st day they showed up. Sold my old 76CS for $300.00. When I got my new unit, I took it out of the box, dropped in a set of Duracells and fired it up. From a cold start I had location and lock with an epe of 19ft in less than 1 minute. Now that, in and of itself, was fairly impressive to me. The fact that I was sitting in the basement of a 2 story house with no windows made it downright freaky. I took it into Home Depot and COSTCO just for grins and the track logs are totally unblemished. Being from the Pacific NW and caching under heavy cover I've found the unit to be the cats meow.

    Blake Island Run

Of course you are welcome to join us Allanon. Taking the 24ft. Meet Wed AM at 9:30 at Wave at the Log Jam And, No FN I'm not beaching the boat at Kellog Island sorry. (The 14ft yes the 24ft nope.) Room for 2 more.
  8. I just got back from a 2 week vacation in the San Juans. Based on the last few logs it seems I may need the do a check on Blake Island Manse and at least replace the log. I can either run the 14ft (2-3 people) or the 24ft (7 people) based on interest. I am open for the trip (right now) on Wed (9th) or Th (10th). Friday would be very iffy. Things will firm up on my schedule around Monday. If we take the 24ft I'd ask for some help on gas (at 10gal/hr it hurts to fill the 90 gal tank and gas in Roche Harbor was $3.90/gal ewwwww) but we could also slide down to Gig Harbor for a few more waterfront caches. If you have not done Green Light at the Tides this would be a good chance. (Positively evil that one is.)
  9. Just let me know where to send them I'll be on vacation in the San Juans for 3 weeks starting Wed so will have to ship after I get back.
  10. Here is my full set of Coinfusion Project coins I recieved from M10B. The scan on the upper left, Side one looks very dark but is actually the silver coin. On the edge of each coin it states "Property of the Coinfusion Project Not to be Sold". L to R Top Row-Silver, Black Nickel, Antique Gold. Bottom Row-Antique Copper, Copper, Gold. Please understand these are what I am calling them. I noted in CoinTracking.com there were variations to the naming, hence the confusion about 7 or 8 different metals. I also seem to remember when I opened the package there was a slip of paper saying something like "Coinfusion Project Face to Face trades only" or some such. I cannot locate the note but it rings pretty clear in my mind but then again my mind isn't what it used to be and I was pretty freaked out at the time because the coin package from M10B and the reviewers was huge and had some incredible coins in it. (Like a M10B v1 and v3, Moun10tyke, GS Volunteer, (From eartha Thank-you very much) etc.) Side 1 Side 2

  12. I'm not aware of any GPSr that will download "directly" from GC.com. Many use a secondary program such as the awesome GSAK to manipulate .gpx files for their GPSr, PDA, or whatever you want. It will pretty much do it all.
  13. Good advice no doubt. I've had the same experience with my 3 Garmins. Not a lick of trouble with contacts through hundreds of battery changes. Being a Garmin user but having been exposed quite extensively to Maggies, one item of note. The Maggie always and I mean always kicked my Garmin butt under any kind of cover. (Until I upgraded to a GPSMap76CSx that is.) If you are going to be using it mostly in terrain with cover the Maggie will rule over the Garmin unless it's an x series.
  14. I got contact info back from 8 Muddy Feet pretty fast. Package to be sent out Monday.
  15. Just got a chance to watch the show last night. Imagine my surprise when the Alaska portion opened at the Independance Mine. Last Sept I took 8 other cachers to Alaska and the Independance Mine was one of the high points of the trip. M10B dropped one of his last V2 coins there, planted the 1st Terracache in Alaska with Prying Pandora, and globalgirl placed Bucket 'O Gold cache at the mine. Every one of the cast members ran right by it between the buildings and the waiting helicopters. Lots of pictures from the mine are HERE and M10B's pix from the mine made the GC.com banner. Back on topic: I thought the show was alright and my wife even enjoyed it. As previously stated there were too many RAZR and ASK.com plugs and "The Preacher" (and family) are sure making their flock proud.
  16. Wadda Hoot. Love your updated adventures. Keep them coming.
  17. I can attest to the "fog" that comes from O2 deprivation at altitude. At a mere 17,000 in a Beech 18 over Germany with out O2 I had a buzz that was out of this world. Then I jumped out and got a different kinda buzz but I was VERY much alert and oriented. []
  18. Snagged another 10 pack. I Love putting coins in caches and at this price it's a can't miss deal.
  19. The A.P.E. cache Mission 9: Tunnel of Light is just about a must do. If you are packing bikes it's much easier and faster than walking it, though the tunnel is cool (in more ways than one[]) to walk also.
  20. Congrats to FunnyNose for breaking the 2k mark at a classic EraSeek cache. Ebey Bluffs
  21. Then you should go back and read the Terms Of Use I beleive that falls under Paragraph 4(j) "Stalk," harass, or otherwise harm another Site user. If you don't feel the need to peruse the whole thing.
  22. By all means send them a nice note. I do when my coins have been kept over 4 weeks and generally it works.
  23. I've used Sharp OZ products for years. Tried this one to go paperless and ended up spending $15.00 on a Palm Visor. It's the only way to go.
