  1. I'm usually good for 10 if a spot is still available. Have Alaska and Maine on order. Thanks
  2. I'm headed Northbound at 7:30 AM from Burien. Can go as early as needed because wife is at a Girl Scout thing overnight. Will have duckboat in tow and a canoe and Black Lab on board. Can fit a couple people but the back seat is tight. (Older Chev. ext cab.) (Wife has the Suburban this weekend for GS.) Will need to head back south around 3-4 PM.
  3. The initial group will probably be back at the Des Moines Marina around 1:30-2:00 PM. (A bit earlier if we forgo lunch at the "Tides" in Gig Harbor.) I'd be willing to take another group to Blake if we can get 3-5 people that want to make the trip. Would have to depart Blake back to Des Moines by 5:00 PM or so as I have family stuff in the evening. Plus I have to haul the boat home, flush the engine etc. etc. but I'd be happy to do it. OMG I dunno how to change the topic. Like I can spell BLAKE Island.

    Blake Island Run

Could concievably take 1 more but it will be "cozy". I,ve loaded 3000 lbs of gear and 4 adults in the boat and driven from Des Moines to Rivers Inlet with no problem. (Well, MAYBE the Mother-in-Law wasn't such a hot idea on a 2 week trip. ) The issue with alot of bodies is floor space. The cabin seats 4 + the driver. After that it's standing room only out of the rain. Or the V berth up front can handle two. The back deck is ok if it's nice out. (After I get it up on plane LOL.) I had a chat with HolyOly and he accepted a slot. (He is my kids Youth Director at church.) We have : reino, Cathy, Landrover, ElSanto, and HolyOle. Will just plan on the Des Moines Marina sling at 0900 on the 13th.

    Blake Island Run

I've been driving small boats on big water (Lake Kabetogama in MN is 25,000 acres) since I was 10 and Puget Sound to Rivers inlet since '89 with the 24 footer. Hopefully after 43 years I have most of the stupid stuff out of my system. Do appreciate the heads up on the tides. I had read the logs but hadn't gotten that far in my planning. The run from Des Moines is about 30-40 minutes for me so that gets us in there about 10 AM. We should be fine at the dock and I know better than to tie up inside at the "TIDES".
  10. I'm thinking about a Blake Island run. Friday 13 May. Leave from Des Moines Marina at 9:15-9:30AM. Meet at my house (Lakeview (Where's the water?) (GCN3NN) at 8:30. I a have Suburban and can haul 8. Could concievably pick people up from other marinas. Yes, I know, it's a Friday. It's my day off. Been past Blake MANY times before but never stopped. The 3 caches out there are enticing me. (GCB0DD) (GC3A8F) and (GC5038). I have a 24' Bayliner that will hold 5 in rainy weather. Can go to 6-7 in decent weather. Have life jackets for 7. Lunch at the "Tides" in Gig Harbor. Any takers? Oh ya-- If ya can kick in a couple bucks for gas that 90 Gallon tank HURTs to fill these days.
  11. Alaska Cache-N-Dash TB # 15 failed to activate properly for some unknown reason and was not moveable from the CITO cache. CameraThyme and I have just now replaced it with another TAG #. Those that are watching this bug may want to switch their attention to TB # TBHE5F with the same name. I am editing this bug to reflect it's non-compliant status. Thanks to CameraThyme for her help in getting this straightened out. I have since checked all the other bugs activation status and they all seem to be ok. My apologies for the swap out but after 2 weeks something had to be done.
  12. Boy did I get in on the back side of this one. Interested in 2 if they become available.
  13. My daughter (12) has just recently started collecting Geocoins and has a limited selection to trade but is looking to see what is available. They usually come out of her allowance but I am trying to pick up a few trades to surprise her for her 13th B'day the 19th of May. If you see anything you like please e-mail me and see what we can do. Inventory for trade: 2005 USA 2004 Washington 2005 Texas 2005 Canadian 2005 Calgary Cachers Greenman Joy of Geocaching 2005 Michigan 2005 North Carolina Also on order GeoWoodstock III due early June.
  14. I'd be interested in 100 Wooden and 10-15 of the metal. Thank-you
  15. My daughter has started collecting recently so her inventory is a bit shy but she'd LOVE a shoper coin. (She is 12 and Definitely following in her shopper Mom's footsteps and you ought to see her go through a cache LOL) She has the following: 2005 USA 2004 Washington 2005 Texas 2005 Canadian 2005 Calgary Cachers Greenman Joy of Geocaching 2005 Michigan 2005 NC 2004 Missouri
  16. PayPal used it's just too handy. Thanks for your hard work on this.
  17. In this case you best wear water shoes. LOL
  18. Had a GREAT morning with andrewrj on the run to replace the cache. Launched at the Skagit Wildlife HQ ramp and headed up Freshwater Slough and on to "Skagit Delta Labyrinth) (GC3A3). Picked that one up and went back to replace Colters Run. Was a beautiful morning to be out. Thanks for coming andrewrj.
  19. The river's no problem with a 15hp motor. The ONLY time the river is an issue and downright dangerous even with a motor is: in the dark, when it's at flood stage and the debris is so heavy. Been there, done that, still freaks me out. Sometimes God smiles on fools. He did that night.
  20. I can leave the motor behind- It rows ok.
  21. LOL I'll never tell. And if I did you probably wouldn't see me do it till it was logged after the trip
  22. I have 3 canoes available including a 18 footer that will haul 800 lbs. I think we can squeeze ya in. If I have the day off I'll bring a couple canoes up and join the fun. Also have a 15hp 14 ft boat to toss in the mix if needed.
  23. Heading up to the Skagit Friday morning (8:30AM) to replace "Colters Run" (GCG794) Also going to take a shot at EraSeeks "Skagit Delta Labyrinth" (GC3A3) which has not been logged since 7 Aug 04. Another EraSeek cache "Skagit Delta #2" is an easy 20 minute walk from the parking area. I have a 15hp 14' Duckboat that will fit myself, the dog (If I leave with the duck boat he will NOT be happy nor will my wife.) and 1 other person. I also have 3 canoes available from 15.5-17.5 ft. I can only haul 2 of them with the duckboat hooked up. I have 3 sets of chest waders available 1 a mens sz 6 and 2 at sz 9.5-10. While not required, as such, waders are the way to attack this place with rubber boots the very minumum. Regular waders work well too. I plan on towing 1 canoe down to replace Colters Run then crossing Freshwater Slough and leaving the duckboat behind. I plan on attacking "Skagit Delta Labyrinth" (GC3A3) from the North, which, to my knowledge, hasn't been tried. I have a pretty precise idea of where it's at from the north having hunted the area for 11+ years and am 95% sure you can get there from the N. It will be low tide so will require walking and pulling the canoes across some shallow areas. When we get back to Freshwater slough I will tow the canoes (1 at a time) and ferry people back to the launch ramp. (15 minutes round trip.) I basicly have gear (except boots) for myself and 5 others. Anyone else that wants to take a crack at it with their own kayak or canoe is welcome. The weather looks like it will be reasonable and the tide is low all day. Any takers?
  24. Last batch of TB's were in a tight cluster and lasted until 2PM Friday. The newest holders are: ACD TB #16 reino (Nice meeting you Friday at Dead Doll Ditch and the CITO yesterday) ACD TB #17 GeekGirl (Nice meeting you at the CITO yesterday>) ACD TB #18 Bug-A-Boo (Who, it turns out, is LandRovers better half) ACD TB #19 MarcusArelius ACD TB #20 The Jester ACD TB#15 was put in a cache at the CITO yesterday to be put out by the winner of the cache at the CITO. Good luck to all and thanks for participating. I am already working on the cache for the ACD TB#1 but not sure this one will work. In the mean time I will be placing singles out in my travels.
