How do I get an activation code for the Partners in Caching coins? I don't see a coin number, just the PC_ _ _ _ code!
-
The activation codes can be found at www.oakcoins.com.
Yes, there are a handful of nickel coins still available!
How can I get one?

My coin is Geocaching related! See! See!
Finally! My geocoin is now available for minting! This coin will come in Antique Silver and a Limited Edition Shiny Gold. This coin will be trackable and will feature it's own unique icon if demand is high enough!
The front of the coin showcases four of the different activities a geocacher may find himself doing on the way to his next cache. The cacher on this coin and the text ringing the outer perimeter of the coin are going to be raised and the darker areas of grey will be recessed for contrast. There will also be black filling the ring of the outer perimeter.
The question is: How will YOU get there?
The back of the coin features three trees along with a twist on a well known phrase. When someone “Can’t see the forest for the trees,” that indicates that they are too involved in the details of a problem to look at the situation as a whole. This twist reminds fellow geocachers that they may need to step back from the details and take another look and “See the forest for the trees.”
A total of 350 Antique Silver and 150 Limited Edition Shiny Gold coins are going to be produced. Preordering is made available to establish interest & as always: first come, first served. The cost per coin will be $7.50, for both Antique Silver and Shiny Gold. The shipping cost is based on the actual weight and there is a $2.00 handling fee per order (not per coin).

The difference is that kazoos in caches aren't called geokazoos and decks of cards aren't called geocards.
Really this issue has been beaten to death. Is there anything new to say?
I can see your avatar speaking these words as you type them... tee hee hee

Can I still purchase this coin or is it sold out?
-
Again, I like the concept of this coin. The major problems I see are:
1 - They are calld Sumatran Elephants NOT Sumatra
2 - Sumatran Elephants are an "Asian" variety, who have SMALL ears. Not BIG like the coin.
3 - There are approx. 2,440 to 3,350 individuals left, NOT 700!
WWF Website on Sumatran Elephants
I LOVE ELEPHANTS! I have a HUGE collection of them.
This coin would have been a wonderful addition, but the errors are too overwhelming.
Sorry, no deal.

Do you have any more available? My mom is a PEZ-a-holic! I'd also like to have one for my collection...

We are creating a trackable geocoin for our event which draws about 250 people or so. We would love to have a custom icon but it is more expensive since we are only producing a total of 300 coins. Now, here is the question...
Does it make a big difference in sales if you have a custom icon or not? We know we probably won't sell them all to attendees so we want to be sure the left over will sell on the forums or on ebay. This is our first experience with producing a coin and we just aren't certain what to do here.
It's my first time too!
What I'm finding out is that many people won't buy it if it doesn't have its own icon
geocaching.com requires 500 codes to get an icon... $750
They also require the icon fee of .................... $150
That's ................................................. $900
PLUS the cost of the minting!!! I'm getting a great deal from Rusty at the geocoinstore.com
I figured that if I sold my coins for $7.50 each, I could cover the cost to do 500.
I'm not an expert, but currently in the process as you are!

I have a question about this coin, especially the silver edition, in the photo of the pure silver we see the blue of the felt behind the coin, is this coin actually transparent or holed?
It's the reflection of the felt front on the highly shiny coin... tee hee hee!
