1. Trade Even

    Trade Up

    or

Don't Trade -- Just sign the log

This is like most of our parents taught us and we have passed to our kids that are now grown. You always try to leave things at least as good or better than you found them. I am not saying you have to trade a coin for a coin but please don't rob a cache of all the good items and leave just a bunch of junk for the next person to find.

I like several people put coins out because I want to, not because I expect everyone to put their coin or someone elses coin in a cahce. I love to watch them move around..

  2. Sounds like another road trip. Lets see 2100 miles at 21 miles per gallon --- 100 gallons of gas at $3 a gallon both ways-- thats $600 plus meals and at least 3 night in a hotel $100 a night a few snacks and cups of coffee ---$1000 + for a new GPS sounds like a deal. Just kidding sounds like a great way to pass along a GPS.
  3. JANKY

(adjective) inferior quality; held in low social regard; old and delapidated; refers almost exclusively to inanimate material objects, not to people.

We tried to pick up on these girls waiting for the bus, but I was holding a janky [ insert geocoin here] so we just got clowned instead.

You must have been holding a Jan or Feb S-----l Geocoin. :)

  4. My take on tonites performances:

Katherine - Can you say wardrobe malfunction!?!?! How did she not "fall out?" (c'mon, admit it... you thought the same thing. (I know Gridlox was hoping too!!) I think she sang well, but not like previous shows. Not time to go home yet. Perhaps next week, but some major eye candy! 029.gif

Elliott - He did justice to this song. It was very moving. As a fellow diabetic, I want him to stay, but I fear he will be in the bottom 3 just because of his past songs.

Kellie - She didn't do this song very well. Flat in a lot of places and high in others. And whats up with that Jersey hairdo??? I think America is getting tired of the "dumb blonde routine." Bottom 3. But say what you want, she sure is some yummy eye candy!!! 1087.gif On a personal note to Kellie - Move to Marietta baby, I will surely play pottery with you anytime.

Paris - WOW! She sure pulled this one off! Great job, Paris!

Taylor - Yea Buddy. My first choice. Did he actually say, "Good to see you" to Andrea?? OMG 114.gif Bad song choice, but good job nonetheless!

Chris - For some reason, I felt like I was at a Mexican Resteraunt in the beginning, but he did a wonderful job overall. I think Paula was high.

Wow - tough call this evening.

    Bottom 3:

    Elliott

    Kellie

Taylor (Oh, it kills me to write that!!)

    Who leaves? Buh-bye Kellie

Pez you know you still have to keep this going after Kellie is gone... You think you can??

Kellie you are out of here..

  5. People do move Geocoins around for cache to cache. I have activated 51 coins with about 35 of them already out and moving and only 5 are MIA. Also I have set out 20 numberered coins and several of those are still moving. It is exciting to find a Geocoin in a cache and I will keep setting them out and moving the ones I find.
  6. :D Anyone want to send one to me so I can log it then send it back????????? Just asking

I won't, but keep an eye out in the province of Quebec, in about a month a Moun10Bike3 will be released in the wild... Yeah I know, crazy and it wont last, but I will give it a try anyway... :D

Lets see. If I leave now I can be there on Wednesday find the cache and be back home for the CITO event on Saturday. Sounds like a great few days.. Anyone for a cache run from Georgia..

  7. :D Anyone want to send one to me so I can log it then send it back????????? Just asking

 Anyone want to send one to me. I want send it back.. I also want sell it and might one day set it free. I keep trying to talk Jon out of one and one day when the stars are right and the wind is blowing out of the west, I may just be lucky enough to have one in my hand that I don't have to give back. Of course it would be great to actually find one in one of those backwood Lacy stashes. I will reach in grab and log the coin and I will put one of my coins out to replace it and smile on the hike back to the car. ---- I can dream can't I. :D

  8. I have shipped all the paid pre-orders for my GA / Tenn Cache Run Geocoin. After billing I have a few of the LE nickel and still about 50 of the antique gold that I can sell. If anyone is interested please visit my website GaGeocaching.com.

Thanks for everyone who pre-ordered my coin. :anitongue:

  9. Very cool, I was getting ready to post and tell you that I was told Bryan was on vacation for two weeks starting last week. Glad you were able to find out what you wanted to know. He seems like a great contact at Groundspeak.

 He is the right person and the ICON is up and working. B)

  10. Just a few minutes ago I received a very nice E Mail from Bryan about my Icon. Thanks Bryan and Groundspeak and I look forward to seeing my icon show up. Thanks Richard Wright B)
  11. Just a question for those that have made coins. I recently produced a new coin and paid for a unique Icon that I am still waiting on. How long does it usually take for the Icon to show up? The Company that made the coin has sent several messages to the folks at Groundspeak and I also sent a message several days ago that has not been answered. What problems have others had? B)

Thanks Tom for the information. I sent another message to bryan bryan@Groundspeak.com last night. I have my fingers crossed. I have messages in now at this E Mail and his Geocaching E Mail and I am sure when he gets back in town he will respond to one or the other.

    Richard

  12. They do the updates in batches. That means, you will see 4 - 5 icons pop up at one time sometimes.

    nielsenc

:o That good to know I think there are 4 of 5 that have posted here that need to be in the batch upload.

  13. My advice is to be patient. If the coin shows up separately the icon will show up eventually. I've seen as many as 5 pop up in one day. I scroll through the numbers every now and then to see if mine has been uploaded to groundspeaks site. It's not there, but likewise I don't have coins or tracking #'s yet either...

I'm sure it will show up soon, and Bryan may be on vacation, I've heard they let the Lackeys out every now and then. :o

:o Thanks for the information I guess if Bryan is on Vacation he will respond when he gets back.

  14. The pinned topics at the top are good for information.

The one titled "Coin Tracking Requirements". Makes a good read.

The getting started bit down the bottom gives all the information you need.

    <_<

    BelKen,

I did read "Coin Tracking Requirements" and that is where I got the neame to send my last couple of E Mails to. Still no response from Groundspeak but but it sounds like the person that takes care of these requests has been away for a few day. It is still hard answering the question but I guess that is all part of making the coins. It has still been a possitive experience. I will be glad when the Icon is right and the people that have ordered my coins are happy. That has always been my main concern. Here is my last message I received.

    Hi~

Recently received your Cache Run coin -- the General. This coin was of interest to us as we have ridden a train on some of the same tracks that the General ran on. . .well, at least some of the same roadbed!

Your page about the coin said that it would be trackable at geocaching.com "with its very own icon." We were disappointed to find, when we activated it, that it has a generic icon. I was wondering if another icon is in the works and, if so, will already-activated coins be converted? I'm new to the geocoin scene so I don't know how this works. :D

I left the name out but I don't want people to be unhappy about my coin. It was a labor of love and was not done just to make money. I set my sale up to be just a little under breaking even so I could put some coins out and give some away for good causes.

  15. I do not know his email but his geoname is Rothstafari.

    Thanks,

I sent an E Mail to his Geocaching E Mail on April the 7th and have not had any reply so far. Thanks I will try again.

    Richard

    Big Rick

Bryan is currently out of the office for a day or two but I'm sure he'll respond to your request as soon as he can.

    -Nate

    Thanks Nate.
