I haven't read the whole thread but like many others my GPS is old and is not recognised by my (or anyone else's) PC (etrex legend HCx - for anyone who is interested).

The only workaround was for me to download caches one at a time using an old version of internet explorer.

Yes I asked some questions at the time and managed to find out which browser was required etc -and yes I got the help needed for the forum to do this!

I actually like this way of caching because it means I carefully research, read ahead, plan my trip and picked my caches to download.

I am very much a quality over quantity cacher.

I cannot afford a 'modern' one, and why should I when my GPS works/worked perfectly well for how I chose to cache.

Not only are you penalising us for choosing to cache this way, you are also pricing out those of us who can't afford a 'modern' device.

I just want to load up my GPS with the caches I want to find and go.

Please give us back the option or an alternative which works for older GPSs (and cachers!)

I will add that I am not of retirement age, being half the age of the of the parents a cacher above complained on behalf of his parents for.

I agree give us back the Send to GPS button or at least give us an alternative that is equal or as good.

  2. This new set up is really BAD!!! PLEASE change it back to the way it was so much simpler to locate caches and events. No way to find a list of caches Hidden By or Found by. This change is NO good for Geocaching.

When my membership runs out I doubt I will renew if this does not get fixed

  3. Well I will tell you I have a Moonshine Run every year and the ones who collect my shine and complete all the requirments are our Champions for the year. Nobody has a bad time here and it is a competition to see just who is the best at what they do. I have nebees and well seasoned cachers all involved and it's not allways the best that win. I see no problem with a bit of competition in our sport and if you do see this as wrong then just don't play.

  4. Hello fellow Cachers,

I am holding my first event, GC243XM, on April 18th 2010. This event is in conjunction with the Geocaching 10th anniversary camp-out at Ocean Pond in the Osceola National Forest. Please take a look at the events for that weekend. EVERYONE is welcome to any of the events. Come help us celebrate the obsession sport we all love!

Well I will be there for sure as if my girl is throwing a party then I will be there. :DB)B)

  5. Is this where I am supposed to say I am sorry??????????

No Sir. This is where you're supposed to say, "Riffster, I'm sending you a .gpx file with the final locations of all my puzzle caches". ;)

Riffster I am not sending you a .gpx file, but next time you are up this way I would be proud to show you around and let you find them. :anicute::(

  6.

If having others pay membership is that important to you, then couldn't you possibly set up a more dedicated event?, not on gc.com of course! Maybe a "membership drive" type event of some sort listed on the Florida website?

If you people only understood what this event is about :laughing: maybe just maybe you might see the light above the alien tech. beam.

I'm with IceCreamMan I should be BANNED from the fourms.:laughing:
